I enjoyed building the small castle on A14 so much, I thought I would try my hand at a larger castle on A15. This took almost 200 hours to complete. There are no creative blocks used here. All survival blocks. The structure itself was made out of cobblestone.

a lot of youtubers dont build there due to the visibility issue it causes when it storms its hard as hell to see an makes other people not wanna watch. quite a few of them love the biome its my favorite
A fair point Obsidian Frost - the weather system in A15 'seems' more 'volatile'. It certainly rains a lot more in my A15 world than in A14, but I haven't had much by way of foggy conditions unlike others' vids I've seen. Easiest solution I've found is just reloading the game. It clears the storms (for a time). As for the snow biome, I'll take that over burnt/wasteland any day! =)
This is fantastic. I love the opening music and the snow sure helped you get the right affect with the lighting on the castle.

Awesome!!! Placing the pillars at the bottom of the outside wall by the ditch is a really nice idea and I’m afraid I’m gonna have to copy it.

Nice base, love the outside look of the castle, I am currently mid video editing/castle building a new castle so went looking for others castle to look for some neat ideas. Like your arches and the crosses.

I really wish I could somehow get the deminsions from you. The perimeter, the height starting from the spikes to the ground floor, ground floor to the bottom of the arches, and from there to the top of just the arches, where the railing is placed. I just cant tell from the video, I started re creating this type of castle, just for fun. I think this is seriously the coolest thing i have ever seen in this game, and im just utterly shocked on the scale of it all. Bravo man.
I remade this castle to exact dimensions and scale just by watching the video frame by frame, and some trial and error. i'd be happy to give you the dimensions if you still play the game. Just message me.

This was done back on Alpha 15 before the changes were made with flagstone/cobblestone.

Grand Spartan thats quite a bit of time. was the castle built on survival or creative, and do you happen to have a video with you building the castle? It would would be nice to have a nice build like this in my pvp or pve multiplayer servers.
This was built on a multiplayer server on survival with a bit of help. You could build something like this on creative in 30-50 hours or so at most I believe. I have no video of the building process as it would have been over 200+ hours of recording and no one would have watched such a boring process. I say, layout a foundation, and let your imagination take over.

On the outside the castle looks too soft. It meant to be defensive structure. Unless this is some kind of monastery

Most likely not on Alpha 15 as the cops explosion damage is just too much now. This build never saw a horde. If I had to take one on in it, I would at least upgrade to reinforced concrete. Early on in the game, like you will see in my let's play series, cobblestone is fine.

i made a similar one but not fully all the way i build about half then i quit, i had some issues with my pc that day.. anyway i think you should build stairs, because old castles actually have more stairs than ladders, only on top floor of the tower they put ladder, also i think stairs makes it look more beautiful,

It took you a very long time to build this. But tbh it's mostly wood rock plantfibers right. With a good mine you can get this all, right? The resources are not hard to get but the time. damn. respect bruv.

And cobblestone is one of the worse block to work with since once u got all the material, you have to upgrade it 3-4 times each to make it a full block. Definitly love the archs on the upper walls and bridges. Just amazing.

You did a great job finishing off the details in this build. I wonder if you could hide reinforced concrete walls between layers of cobblestone kind of like a concrete sandwich :)
You could, but instead of 200 hours gathering resources and building, you would be looking at 400 hours. It would take a long time to not only mine all the resources, but you would have to wait for each batch of concrete to make.
It only took 2 people to gather, defend, and build this. You would need more people, for something of this size made of concrete, to be built in the same amount of time.
You shouldve told us you wanted help man, Devil and I would've jumped on Im sure. After building Tower Bridge anything in 7 Days that isnt building is a welcomed distraction
