My favorite thing is that it uses actual characters from the show who are a bit more obscure, Charlene, Rodger, and Rodney are pretty well known, but the teacher is clearly supposed to be Dr. Gevaarlijk, who was his Evil Science teacher who only appeared in one real episode, plus a couple background cameos.

This isn't stretching the biology of Doof to a ginormous extent. Like the nose and accent are a good enough indicator who the actor is portraying. And I love it! They clearly had fun with this and I think it would be a fun fan film.
This has legitimately interesting plots, like what is Major Monogram going to talk to him about? It's also just super interesting to see how story bits can be extrapolated from all the absurd stuff in the show.
The first movie revealed that OWCA scans all of Doof's Inators and adapts the tech for less nefarious ends; it's a popular theory that OWCA actually funds Doof in order to help maintain the status quo of operations.

Like seriously though, I'd probably watch something like this, if it was handled by a fan (or Dan Povenmire himself), and given the love and care that was clearly put into that fan made trailer. I can't say the same about the other live action remakes, even if the above were true for them too.
@@santosic I mean while there are some not-so bad live action remakes like Aladdin 2019, Jungle Book 2016, Christopher Robin, Cruella, and Mary Poppins Returns; you do have a point.
Yeah, it really does. I mean there have been a few Disney LARs that aren’t as bad as most others in my opinion. Aladdin 2019, for mostly doing its own thing instead of completely copying the original; Jungle Book 2016, same reason as Aladdin 2019; and while these two don’t entirely count as LARs, Christopher Robin and Mary Poppins Returns are honestly both underrated and under-appreciated in my opinion. But despite these few LARs being better than most others (ESPECIALLY better than Lion King 2019 and Mulan 2020), there’s honestly no need for them at all. I mean I understand Maleficent was an experiment to see if they’d work financially, and while I did enjoy the Maleficent Movie, I still prefer Maleficent being evil through and through, same with Cruella; wasn’t really as bad as most others say it is, but I still prefer Cruella DeVil’s original version (I mean heck even though I enjoyed the Cruella movie, even I think that her Once Upon A Time counterpart is a better live action version of Cruella DeVil). At the end of the day, while not all of Disney’s live action remakes are bad, there isn’t really a need for them. Because no matter how many LARs are made, no matter how much of the problematic stuff from the golden era films Disney tries to fix, and no matter how much they try to enforce the poorly written female empowerment stuff in; people will always and rightfully go back to the original animated versions. Not just because they’re iconic and remembered by many, but also because they’re WORTH remembering.
I think part of it is cause it's not just another soulless remake that contributes nothing It's an origin story that really builds and puts together what Doofenshmirtz has been through
@Sorcerer-SMC I did like the Alice in Wonderland ones though. They were more of a continuation, and it made sense having the original from when she was a child a cartoon while the adult ones were live action. Those are my favorites of them all. I wish they'd done more like that. Pete's dragon could be a new kid in modern times. He did tell Pete that he was going on to the next kid that needed him. Then they could have had the original actor have a cameo role as himself somewhere in it.. as long as he's still alive. A little nugget where he shakes his head and says something about Elliot. It would have been great for us folks that watched the original.
@@maggieavilla1336 The first Alice movie was wild but it was fun! Maybe not the best story but it definitely felt like it built on the original as opposed to tearing it down. It meant something to the franchise.
