With your injuries and your disrupted training, a lot of people wouldn’t have turned up at the start. A lot would’ve quit after a few miles. But you turned up and you just kept going. That’s what the marathon is all about. Hats off to you. Massive respect to you!
Thank you! After all the effort I've put in and travelled all the way there I felt like giving up just wasn't an option, especially when I got to half way. It was painful and really hard, but I just wanted a good outcome 😊 So I just kept going! I'm so glad I did and I keep looking at my medal to remember what I have achieved by not quitting.
Awww....🥹 When I was editing the video and watched it back I made myself cry again 😄 It was such a big moment for me and a really special day! Thank you for the comment! I finally did it 💪🏼
Honestly so impressed by you. I think throughout your training you often felt disappointed and talked yourself down and maybe with the injuries I can understand the frustration but I knew you would do it if you got yourself to the start line. Well done. Mental toughness has increased. ❤
Thank you! I felt like you believed in me all along when I was doubting myself. I think that's how I am in other aspects of my life sometimes, but I can also be stubborn. I definitely was that on race day and felt like giving up just wasn't an option after all the effort and travelling all the way there. I really wanted to finish and I did 💪🏼 Thank you for all the comments and support. And following me on this incredible journey. On to the next Marathon! x

@YuennyLam I was hoping to do Manchester next year but it's already sold out! Got a half marathon in 3 weeks time 😬 excited and nervous at the same time. Hopefully will bump into you at a race one day!!
@@ashjvlogs Oh no! That's a shame. Based on how it worked last year, they seem to randomly release places for Manchester throughout the year. Keep an eye out on the website and Instagram. I think they "sell out" to attract more people in a way, but they do sometimes have more spots available. When I entered last year to run this year, I thought I was lucky to grab a place early but noticed at least twice that they were releasing more places. I hope you get in, because Manchester is a great one for a first Marathon. Which HM are you running? Totally normal to feel nervous, but you'll love every second of it. Just make sure you don't go out too fast. We all do because of the nerves, adrenaline and the crowd, but definitely pace yourself. Let me know how you get on. Best of luck and hope to bump into you too 🤞🏻
@YuennyLam I'm running the Warrington Half Marathon in my home town. Thought it would be best to stay local for this one 😂 I came in dead last in the two 10k's I did earlier this year. And thank yoh for the advice on Manchester, hopefully I'll be able to get in 🤞
@@ashjvlogs Staying local is a good idea. You don't need the added stress of travelling before a big event. You still finished the 10Ks though and that's a huge deal. Well done 👏🏻
Awesome Yuenny. You did it. You are now a marathon runner. A member of an elite club! What an incredible, and emotional, achievement. Especially after the set backs of last few weeks. Hope you are going to share your thoughts and feelings about the race, and what's next for you.
Thank you 😊 It was hard! I really didn't think I would actually complete it but I really wanted it badly. After all the work I've put in and travelled all the way there. Thanks for following me along. There's another very exciting event later on this year which I will be sharing soon 😊
Congratulations! That was so amazing. The determination and grit to finish was inspiring. All the hard work paid off =D You rock! Relax and recuperate, you earned it.
Thank you. I really wanted to cross the finish line. I guess my brain was stronger than my body that day 😄 I'm not running this week, until maybe Sunday. So I'm definitely relaxing and eating what I want 😁

About 1% of the world population ever ran a marathon. Yes, there are elite runners that can run it in 2 hours record time and more running less than 2 hrs 30 mins or 3 hours or 4 hours depending on your age group and the time spent training (one month? 6 months? one year?). However, for the rest of us regular marathon runners, the prime objective is not the time we finished but having a fun experience completing the marathon. The time we finished is just a measurement to help us train for the next marathon. You completed the marathon, be very proud of yourself. Your subscribers are proud of you. Running a marathon builds your character in life to stay strong and not give up when you face challenges.
Thank you for the lovely message. You always leave me really nice comments 😊 You're right, the finish time wasn't important. The main thing is that I finished and got that special medal at the end. I'm actually surprised at how many people haven't asked what time I ran it in because runners understand that time and pace is irrelevant sometimes. There are so many runners out there chasing some crazy fast times, but that's just not me. I physically can't run that fast and that's totally okay 😊
Congrats Yuenny on becoming a marathoner! Your hard work in training and sheer determination on the day was inspiring. Loved watching your journey and I look forward to seeing what you do next.
Thank you for following me on this journey 😊 It was hard and at times I didn't think I was capable of running (and walking) that distance, but I did! I have an exciting event coming up later this year and some in-between fun stuff 😁 Saying I'm a Marathoner still doesn't sound real!
