What I liked was you showed the lesser spec first, thank you. The pricing is way out of order unless the leasing/PCP deals are awesome. If you forget price this is classic Ford which aims to be good enough rather than exceptional. As a third car we have a C Max which is now about ten years old bought two years ago for around £10k. It does dogs, e-bikes, and recycling plus local short trips. So I think we would wait for one of these to come up second hand when the battery and everything else has been fully depreciated. What Ford have going for them where I live in the UK is that you can always get them fixed or see a dealer within a few miles, which does not apply to any of the alternatives mentioned.
So a slightly larger boot, a middle rear seat and a much love badge are worth €10k? If they sold this at €25k it might do well. But so many other options ahead of it right now. My Inster is sniggering in the corner lol
well the issue here will always be the price and not the same as petrol is a big issue when compared to say the renault 5 and that is not on a compromised platform and the issues there
Something about it is giving (less expensive) Jaguar I-Pace vibes, the stubby nose maybe? Then the premium wheels look like ID3 wheels. I'm not a fan of the yellow, I don't think the car pulls it off as well as the Renault 5. It's a good sign that 33k for an electric car is not just considered expensive, but considered expensive compared to other available electric cars!
Everything was excellent, nice design, base model is more then good enough features, love the colours, and then it all crashed and burned over the price. Like what?? I suspect increadable deals at the dealers within months of it going on sale. The market has more than moved on now and this car would have been fine a year ago but it is miss priced now. The frunk design is excellent way of freeing up space. Dont use one normally but i do twice yearly uni runs and it is very useful then.
especially with the Renault 45 out there now and the base difference in price is massive ... added that the Renault is on a proper scalable EV platform
@ianrob4760 big fan of the old 4. Loved the gear leaver, and the range is better with Renault and the style is better with Renault and my kids would love the 5. Very now. If this was on par pricing with the 5 it would still be a bit dull in comparison. Fine but dull. Will sell fine if monthly is on par, but not a big seller I suspect.
@@patrickjr11 well it is a puma, it is the top UK seller so people want ford, bland and boring !! I owned 4 fords in past, Escort, Focus and mondeo . However simply too far behind and too expensive now
Ok the price is a killer, not going to sell for that price. It’s a pity I like Fords but they left it late with the EVs and are only also rans now, nothing revolutionary from them. I love the Inster by the way saw it at the NEVO show it’s a winner!
Wow that is tight in the back...struggling to understand why they have chosen this battery size and limited range for a 2025 EV ..i really can't help feeling Ford are somewhat clueless at the moment with regards to EV's..bizarre the higher spec Puma does not have a sunroof while the lower one does? Does the electric puma have any VW involvement at all like the Explorer and Capri Ev's? You are correct Derek.. i do think Ford have messed up the pricing on this..i would expect to see big discounts next year with the slow down in demand and EU targets /fines. Ford have been late to the EV market in general with little on their portfolio so you might think they could have an advantage in trying to get ahead of the game but seems the opposite is true. No wonder Ford is in a total mess at the moment. I fear for even more job losses next year from Ford to be honest. First thing Ford should do is have a serious re-think on the pricing.
I think it's trying to electrify an existing model unfortunately and not a ground up EV hence the limited space for a battery. I don't believe there is any VW involvement.
I’m glad the premium doesn’t have the sunroof, I much prefer a closed roof but the price is too high, if it does come to Australia which I hope it will but the price stays the same equivalent to Europe, then after speccing it on ford uk with a couple of the add ons the price would be $35000 approx pounds or AUD$66500 approx which is more the AUS$20000 more than the top ice Puma when they were still sold new here. The price needs to be much closer to ice.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Fair point ..would explain the limited battery.Good to see they put the large speaker /subwoofer in front and not the boot so does not impact on storage in the boot which is very welcome.
🤔 That’s a lot of money for a Ford. The chocolates would run out pretty quickly too and it is too much money for a few tins of - ‘not as good as they used to be since the chocolate content was reduced and replaced with sugar’……sweets. Credit where it’s due; that’s quite a stylish tin, compared to the old round ones. Stacking Pumas in the supermarket might be tricky though.
Nice car . Always liked the Puma though the battery size somewhat disappointing given Northern European winter weather conditions . I would possibly opt for a Puma MHEV .
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Yeap especially that Puma doesn't have even as an option the heat pump? This is radiculus as an MY2025 in BEV world. Even small Inster have this option
Wow unlike another review shows so much more, thanks Derek. 😃 Although the frunk is small enough room for a type-2 cable which is all that is in my Kona frunk. Must be a Ford build and not a VW build as there is real buttons not haptic ones and the software looks like Ford software not VW software. Must be one of the first EV's with manual closing sunroof covers means one less thing to not break once the warranty expires. As it looks like a Puma means has a better chance of mass market appeal and there is no badge indicating it is even an EV to the untrained eye they could easily mistake it for any other Puma. Could probably put in a spare tyre from the look of the size of the area under the rear storage floor.
It looks good but they must get the price right not everyone is getting their cars on lease or salary sacrifice (in the uk) if they don’t it will just sit on the dealers forecourt like a lot of other Ev cars at the moment
Disappointing price considering it's an EV based on the Puma ICE. Ford would need to drop the price by at least 5 k to have any chance of competing with other EV's. Ford need to get real.....or be left behind.
Positives are a frunk although not the biggest and space for a spare wheel.(rare as hen's teeth on an EV) Compact size means parking becomes a little easier.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I'm the existing owner of PUMA since 2020. Have 1.0 125KM M6 Titanium model. This is very practical and nice to drive car, but in this price range BEV Puma has a lot of competitors that's offering much more range and additionall options, like EV3 58kWh with heat pumpt, V2L and etc it costs almost the same as this Puma, little more only. And offers much more range and heat pump so in winter possible even around 30% more real range. This is very bad for this Puma, only when it will have at least 10-15% of discount from price list I could eventually start to put it into table and look around for it
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I know the Puma sells well in combustion form, this lazy conversion isn’t going to entice anyone new to the fold and certainly won’t get existing Puma customers to convert to EV at that price premium with poor range.
Much as it’s good Ford are going to sell a cheaper EV than the very expensive Mach-E, Explorer and Capri, I can’t help think this one is a bit desperate. It’s clearly not a ground-up EV and just looks like a compliance car to me. The exterior is just a slightly re-worked ICE version and the interior looks like something from the last decade. The range is poor for an EV of this size and all seems a bit outdated even before it’s launched. I just don’t understand what Ford are doing with EV’s, none of them have any appeal to me.
Ford would've saved themselves a lot of credibility damage if they just shown the Puma EV instead of that cynical Capri SUV. Very disappointing how Nissan still hasn't bothered itself to offer EVs smaller than the LEAF
