During one of our sessions you explained to me how our anxieties could manifest something in front of us that's not really there. You used an example of "Imagine if there was a lion between you and the door to this room. I don't see it, only you. If I can't see it, if I'm not fearful as I should be then is it really there?" You helped me use those around me to balance out my rationalization with my anxiety. I used the word projection to relate to the scenario, which coming from a 14-15 year old at the time impressed you but even to this day I've used that lesson to help others as well as myself as I still deal with mental health, especially over the last year. I've taken a lot from our sessions and I smile every time I see a new video from you because I know from experience how genuine and wise you are. The mind is too wonderful not to explore it, you've lit candles that still burn through my labyrinth and I'll always be thankful for you, Christian.
    God bless, Brother ❤

" We master what we practice" that is such an eye opener I really needed to hear that. So true. Thanks.
As a muslim i would like to share our perspective also from a religious point of view. We believe that God loves us more than our parents and kids, and in our scripture God specifically says "do you think I'll leave you to say 'I believe' and not test you with your faith?". So we believe every "bad" situation we are put in is out of love from God, that there is a lesson to be learned, that God is either testing our patience so that he can give us more blessings and enter higher levels of heaven, or punish us for some wrong we have done, which is a mercy because it's better to be punished on earth than in the hell fire. In all cases, good and bad, muslims are told to thank and praise God, and that patience, good manners and piety are the most important acts for personal growth since those three gives us the most rewards. It's obviously much harder than it seems, and the more we struggle to achieve them, the more the reward from God. Because he doesn't look at our results, only the amount of effort or struggle we've made to follow his advice. For example Prophet Noah struggled for 900 years and his results were almost no believers following him, yet he is will be in the highest of heavens with all the other prophets, because of the amount of struggling and efforts they all made in the cause for truth and justice.

Thank you so much for your kind words! And I'm so grateful to hear you're using my Advanced Techniques book. That was my first textbook. If you like that, I would love for you to check out Walking Through Anger, because I think you'll find it relevant to both your personal life and to the work you're doing professionally. Definitely sending you all my best, and tons of peace (and gratitude)!

@@DrChristianConte thank you, I appreciate that and I will definitely get my hands on a copy of Walking Through Anger. Advanced Techniques has been one of my favorite assigned texts - truly refreshing to step away from the quantitative and into the qualitative!
