Why am I here? Because I am dissapointed about new information for Bloodlines 2 and need to remind myself what made Bloodlines so great.
Yeah, doesnt seem like the devs (and publisher) dont even remotely get why Bloodlines is so beloved. Probably just gonna be another cashgrab... Thats the gaming business for you nowadays. Its all about the money.
@@muchossaugus9927You are right. The vtmb2 train wreck is the result of the deliberate actions of companies that don't care about their customers. Sad times...
I feel like most CRPGs of late have lost their way of recently. The streamlining of the experience was the opposite of what made them great. The many choices of dialogue, the skill checks and the varied playstyles you can do just to mess around.
@@ZX-GearDisagree, I can't think of a CRPG of late that missed the mark. Pathfinder (both), BG3, the aussie-Fallout demo, all were great. Not sure what you're on about.
@@burnttoast26 I think only Baldurs Gate can count as mainstream/AAA
It goes without saying that the devs of this game and pretty much everything Troika made was gold and they were passionate and talented at their art it is just a damn shame that corporations had to ruin them.
That said them working without pay to try and fix the game before shutting down shows you how much they cared about the game and you can also see that passion in WESP5 who has been for years working on not only fixing the bugs but also adding in many things that were only partially done so he deserves a lot of recognition as well for all the tireless work he has done for the game.
Indeed
I'm always there for a Masquerade review. This game is so good. I doubt the sequel will be able to live up to this. Not because I'm bias but the story,dialogue\choices are just so good. It still holds that gritty, gothic 2005 setting to it which I just love.
Same here. I've seen many Bloodlines reviews, but it's always enjoyable seeing someone new review it.
The hotel mission remains one of the most memorable missions for any game, up til today. First time I played it was at night. Holy crap, it scared the be jeezus out of me. I actually had to take 30 minute break before resuming.
The best art creates a world if its own. Vtmb managed to do just that.
rather than a bloodlines 2 that might never come out I´d like an remake of the first
A remaster yes, a remake no. A remake would be a hot mess just like VTMB 2.
A remake would change the writing and great convo animations. Plus, I feel like Source Engine fits VTMB's feeling well, strangely
I LOST MY SOUL TO THE BLOODLINESSSS
Every time I find a new high quality retrospective of vampire the masquerade bloodlines I become like Uma Thurman in The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
"Another diamond"
"don't open it" haha amazing
This is going to be a hood classic.
9:28 I STARE AT LIGHTS THAT MAKE ME BLIND INTERNALLY THERE"S NOTHING LEFT FOR ME TO BE I"M ALL ALONE AND ISOLATED
This game is always my first to install on a new system (alongside with Heroes 3, but I digress). I love the tabletop RPG, it gave me and my brother and friends so many sleepless, adventure filled nights (Revised 2nd edition FTW).
It is unfortunate that game is an absolute messy masterpiece and not a flawless masterpiece. It is a huge heartbreak that the game did not get the extra 6 months it needed and was actually scheduled for originally. I am still glad for the hardworking, crunching, blood-seating people who worked hard despite all difficulties. I am probably on my 30th playthrough and I still can't get bored. That captivating dark magic is still there at it will be there always. I just wish I could turn into a vampire, don't age, and play this game till Gehenna comes.
Troika may have been given the engine from the start, but they were given a weird beta version that was constantly updated. It was an extremely difficult technical challenge, it's amazing we got it at all.
Haven’t played it in years, but i absolutely loved it back in the day.

I can tell this is gonna be good
i remember having 3 or 4 CDs to install this badboy in my old 256mb desktop. It was laggy as hell, but dayum, so good at the same time. Nowadays, everynow and then I replay VTMB.
Stay safe, neonate. The night can be unforgiving.
Nice Video Vlade.
There is no other game that can bring the same melancholic feel as this one. Both the game itself and everything surrounding it.
Nosferatu was my first run in bloodlines, very fun experience.
Also epic review 😄
Man, you just handicapped yourself. So, level with me; how was your Nossie experience?
Based sewer rat gamer. Every time i tried to play this as a kid i would take the test and always gey nosferatu. For years i thought i couldnt be spotted AT ALL i didnt understand game design or site ranges. So it was the most intense stealth game, where i missed most quests as i never talked to any kine
It's a bad first impression of the game since it's so drastically different to how the game normally goes.
Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines this is a game i really wish i knew before when i was a kid and im suprised it looked so good and didnt get a remake now
KINO IS BACK ON THE MENU
Why does everyone use Bender as the sole John Dimaggio reference? Marcus Fenix man!
After doing like 8 playthroughs, I can say that I actually enjoy the combat, if you build your character around the disciplines it gets silly. Punching people into the air when suing celerity is silly fun and abusing obfuscate to kill everyone is really fun, even if it gets too easy, it is a great power fantasy style of gameplay.
I keep hearing over and over how bad the combat is, but I don't think I've ever heard a real reason why, it's just stated as a fact. What perplexes me even more is the complaint that there is any combat in the game at all. What do people expect from a video game?
@@mad-scientist6027 I guess the gunplay is pretty frustrating and melee/unarmes is button mashy, but I stil think is enjoyable.
@@patximartel I've never used firearms myself, I find that melee is superior, so I guess maybe that's a fair point. But as far as I can tell, it's mostly the early guns that suck, which makes sense. Why is button mashing a bad thing though? It's an RPG, so it makes sense that your character's stats would be the determining factor in combat outcomes. I find the simplicity refreshing, but I guess for some reason it turns a lot of people off.
Ayy, actually got a notification this time. ❤
Ah! Should point out that most people’s crosses don’t matter…but True Faith exists and it’s *horrifying*.
I'm gonna open it. I just want a peek.
Every time I see Vtm:B I click. So you got my attention.
I need to play this masterpiece.
Viago saying "The Beast" O_o
Good video, the only nitpick I have with it is that you call Bloodlines an immersive sim, which it's not. Immersive sim is not even a game genre. Contrary to popular belief, it has little to do with having multiple approaches to a problem. Immersive sim are active and reactive system elements from which emergent gameplay and unscripted interactions are born from thanks to player creativity. Games with well-done immersive sim elements would be Prey 2017, BG3, Divinity Original Sin 1&2, and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. For example, packing a chest full of heavy items in DivOS and then using telekinesis to drop it on a boss because weight is 1:1 with physical damage is a perfect example of utilizing immersive sim logic.

@@guillaumelenormand3631 Nah, I'm good. I got your mom to comfort me 😎
oh fuck yeah!
VTMB is simply masterpiece!
And now they selling us generic character and says “hey! All games like this! Now roleplay :D “
there really isn't that many rpgs set in modern times hell some decades soon bloodlines will be considered medieval. maybe bloodlines 2 will fulfill that setting, but my hope for that game has been wavering.
based
Where are the developers, and by that I mean the very people who developed the first Bloodlines. Paradox should hire them as soon as possible. The story of the first game was awesome. Also, the being able to choose your clan and gender...I mean, come on. What could be more in the spirit of the times than being able to freely choose your gender. ^^

Have you watched the tv show forever knight . Pretty sure half the game is refrences to the show.
Are you using a mod? Is there a gay mod for the intro???
He was using the Unofficial Patch plus, which has a gay history option which affects the intro and some other scenes.
Huh! Neat, didn't know that existed. @@wesp5
It's not that it was released incomplete and on a bad time, it was incomplete BECAUSE they were required to release it alongside Half-life 2.
You don't have Morrowind footage but have Kung Pow? you are my favorite person now xD
