- Welcome to my channel. In this video I do a car and caravan build off with Rob from Matchbox Garage. For my build I am restoring and customizing a Matchbox Studebaker Lark Wagonaire (circa 1965 to 1968) and a Trailer Caravan (circa 1965 to 1969).

Hey Danny. I just looked at Rob's video with his Vauxhall and Caravan and told him he was the best between you and him. Truth is you are the best between you and Matchbox garage. LOL love what you did here and they get is top-notch stuff.

Greetings Danny, Happy Spring, hope your weather is as nice as the job you did on the Lark and caravan, the detailing was superb and mini newspapers and advertisements were an excellent addition.
Both this build and of robs are amazingly done..a little extra points for you danny for the outstanding interior..and the choice of wagoneer..would have been great for a wood grain finish for both the wagon and the trailer..but all in all i still find it pretty awesome..

Great detail work on both the RV trailer and wagon ... Have seen both of the build offs now... Good thing I don't have to vote for one or the other 😋😊

The only caravan I can recall with an end balcony was the Bluebird Pacific, but that was a static site van so I think you are right about it being a Matchbox invention.

If you hold onto things like Q-tip packages or and other thin but still tough plastic you can cut those to put "glass" in the windows of that caravan, that's how I put "glass" in my model railroad building windows.

This came out great! You really captured 1960's Americana! Great details on the interior of the caravan (or Camper in America) and I love the custom luggage pieces. The Studebaker Lark Cavalier looks great in green! I would love to see different wheels on these, but I am sure the size of the space doesn't allow a lot of customization. Great Job!

Brilliant, just Brilliant mate !! The "Travel Trailer" as we call them here was one of my first casting as well as the "Hotdog trailer". I started collecting in the early 60's as well as racing slot cars. I am still doing both I am happy to say.

Wonderful detailing Danny. Isn't it ironic that the cars that need a tow hook have them missing but the cars where they're unnecessary always have them intact.

Fantastic painting job here Danny.😎 Both vehicles look smashing although the Caravan could use some window glass. It 's time consuming for me doing so but
looks very realistic to do so! I did a very similar two tone paint job on mine which does make it more realistic as well.. The hardest part was getting the wheels back on
and tapping the worked end of the axles. Actually drilled into center of each with a very small drill bit and hammered them carefully without scraping off
any of the Caravan's paint!🔥🔥🔥
I just used Marty's method for the wheels it worked fine, they pushed down a bit in the axle holes and it fitted the nail in there no problem.

Beautiful vehicles. The color choice is right on. I think the trailer roof is backwards. Maybe.

High Danny! You again did an awesome job. The car and trailer looks beautiful, the trailer interieur with all the details and the carluggage are amazing, and the trip to the lakeside is awesome to. On the reveal it seems tha the caravans roof sits not correctly on the bodie. Very well done. Looks great!
It is on backwards, you can see the bevel. Which should be towards the front for aero...

Grate job. Rob did a good job aswell. But I must say you did a bit extra. I can see Rob going for that chrome look but the choice of colors makes it pop. If I was a judge I would say you won!

I put alot of miles on that combination as a kid :-). Lots of time driven on a scale cardboard road bought from the toy store. The best part was to turn fast and make the trailer swing all over the place. Sorry about the geezer story, I'll just let myself out now.....

Danny, your car is well done but I think Rob got you on the Caravan. His shiny caravan looks really good and you put the roof on your's backwards though your interior looks awesome. We have something similar to Rob's R/V trailer/caravan here in the states called an Airstream made from air craft aluminium.

I love what you did with the trailer. I just never see the old trailers here. I don't remember ever seeing any kind of matchbox brand trailer, for that matter, in person. I grew up out west, I gues the trailers weren't purchased by the sellers, or something. Now days, they are very scarce in the US. I'm sure there are some, but I never see them. I don't imagine they made as many trailers as they did cars, and probably weren't as widely available... don't know for sure, just my guess. I don't reckon most guys wanted trailers. They were all about the sleek go fast stuff at that time, when Hot Wheels came to the fore. Personally I always preferred matchbox, especially those with opening doors, trunks, or hoods, or bonnets as you call them.

Haggai man that really looks good you did a great job I see a lot of people do these little Matchbox Restorations but they won't put in the fine detail I don't know I guess maybe they wanted to look original but I mean if you're going to do it those little fine details and and all the little things really make it look so much cooler and better and you're pretty good at that all right man I'll keep watching take it easy

I have 2 of the trailers...one stock and the other I modified...basically painted it...and I have the Lark as well...still stock...

I've seen those Studebaker adds before where they give out which color you would like on your Wagon plus I've seen Marty fixed a Lark Wagonire and a camper trailer in a later video, the Green paint job looks good on both the car & the trailer.
The posters are a cool touch!
