10 years US Army Special Forces medevac veteran that did 2 tours in Vietnam. There aren't enough words to honor the Vietnam combat nurses that volunteered to go to Vietnam.
Thank you, Diane, and your fellow medical specialists. I was in the Signal Corps right next door to your 71st Evac Hospital, there at Tropo Hill, north of Pleiku City. That was from Aug68 to Dec68. While I was there my cousin was working with the 4th Infantry Engineers on the roads and bridges between KonTum and DakTo. He and I were both from Harrisburg, PA, and we are the same age. While I was up there my cousin was injured when his unit was attacked by the NVA near DakTo. He got shrapnel on his back and backside. He was taken to your hospital on a Dust-Off Huey. While your unit treated him for the next 8 or 9 days I visited him to make sure he was on the mend. Eventually, he was well enough to return to duty and we both made our way home, got married, and had families. He and I still get together during family events, and he thanks your Evac Hospital for saving his life from all the bleeding. Again, thank you for being there to take care of the men and women of our Armed Forces.
Such admiration for the women who were in Vietnam. America should be so ashamed of themselves for protesting against their men being in Vietnam. They did not want to be there You women are heroes
Loved your story. I was a marine in I corp was wounded went to PHU BAI, Clark Air Force base, Guam, Philadelphia navy hospital. Would like to see those recognized and hear from them. Thank you all for the medical treatment.
Dear Diane...and all the other Vietnam Vet nurses...I'm almost speechless. I can't fathom the depth of enduring courage, caring, and selfless giving you gave. Truly you have been the unsung heroines of our Nation. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so grateful to have become aware of you after hearing you speak so beautifully and eloquently on this Memorial Day PBS TV special. Bless you all....🙏💜
Watching this makes me cry. Thanks for your service and comnpassion. I'm a Viet Nam Era veteran. Never in country but if I was and was wounded would have hoped for someone like you to be there with me.
Diane this brought tears to my eyes, you and all the women who served in Vietnam. Thank you for helping the young men. Welcome home to all of you. God bless you for this beautiful memorial statue.
Soo… grateful for your great Service . You all are such an inspiration ! This country needs more more people like you ( caring , service , genuine, compassion , patriotic). . God Bless and we love you 🥰
I just finished Diane's book, "Healing Wounds". Incredible!! What it took for this statue and memorial to come to fruition is amazing, infuriating, shocking. God bless all those women vets.
God bless the nurses who served in Vietnam. I served with the army in 1969, and was severely wounded by mortar/rocket fire in December of that year. If not for the nurses, doctors, and Medevac helicopter pilots, I would not be here typing this in 2004 at the age of 75.
I was there at nurses and soldiers and Vietnam veterans Wall dedication in Wash DC our combat nurses saw my.death and dying under their hospital tents than us brothers in life and death combat VN combat nurses were our guardian angels
