Nice to see Margaret Hamilton, since she has been getting some fame lately, as the previously lost Sesame Street episode that she appeared in as the Wicked Witch of the West has recently been uncovered.

@@samanthab1923 Yes, Margaret Hamilton was a teacher before she became an actor, so she strongly believed in children's education, and appeared on shows like Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street, since they both emphasized helping children learn.

@yusakug I think it's a travesty that the episode of Sesame Street became lost to time for so long just because a bunch of busybodies complained after it aired. I would have loved that episode as a kid and I'm glad people finally have a chance to see it.

    WNBC! Yes!
Fred The Furrier kept on chugging along as long as Alexander's was around through the 80s!
Plus that obvious New Yahk accent in the Newmark & Lewis ad!

Corn Flakes- The close up shot of the ear of corn in the beginning showing the details of it really adds to the experience of this commercial, I think.
HFC- The apron with the numbers and letters that the woman in this commercial is wearing looks like something that came straight from Sesame Street.

The differences from commercials of the 70s to now. Can't imagine a fur store being advertised anymore. Even something like Bubbilicious seems unusual now.

0:00--Back when fur coats were a thing--and animal rights activists weren't.
0:30--Do they still make Tender Vittles? I remember that it was kind of in between "dry" and "wet" cat foods.
1:00--Wow; a bank commercial with a catchy jingle! How rare is that, even back then?
1:58--I love the Corn Flakes jingle.
2:23--"Good to the last drop"--that is an iconic advertising slogan/jingle.
4:08--I had kind of forgotten that Irish Spring was advertised as a "manly" soap back then.
4:38--I was always amused by the Agree shampoo ads that claimed it stopped the "greasies"!
5:08--"Coke adds life" may not be their best-remembered jingle, but it is one of many great jingles Coca-Cola has used through the years.
6:08--Although Wrigley's is my go-to brand of chewing gum nowadays, I loved Bubblicious and similar brands back then.
7:08--That state-of-the-art electronic equipment looks so dated now.
11:08--Ocean Spray was my favorite brand of juice drinks back then, especially Cranapple and Cran-Grape.
11:37--Interesting how they used Caribbean steel drum music in a Navy ad.
12:07--Wow; record clubs. You could actually get some pretty good deals from those, but you had to be careful to do it right.

      @80sCommercialVault  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

No. Seinfeld's building has a distinctive staircase/fire escape at the front of it. It's also in Los Angeles, which I doubt they would use in a promo for a radio show in NYC
