Nick Mason makes drumming look easy but it is not...Nick is and always has been one of the most underrated drummers in rock, there is no other drummer like him. His timing is impeccable and his creative style made Pink Floyd what they were. What he is doing now with Saucerful of Secrets is just totally amazing, and Roger thinks so too. Fantastic.
This was such a great idea to get these guys together. Together, they are phenomenal at creating a sound and vision that yes, hearkens back to an old band, but is refreshed and made to be alive at this time in our season
Saw them last night at the Fairfield Halls London, they were truly amazing and awesome does not come close, blew me away. Nick Mason and the rest of the guys thank you for letting me relive my youth...xx
I was there with my husband, and I could even have the great Nick Mason around, who signed me an autograph in the book "Inside of Pink Floyd"; The best thing that has happened to me in my life.
There is also someone like me who did not even hope to hear these songs live in his life ??? And those songs are played by two members of Pink Floyd !!!!! :DDDDDDD
The crowd at this show (in my city) cheered as loudly as at any show I ever went to. Nick gave us a gift we never dreamed we would get in our lives. Grown men were crying.
Nice version. If you guys want to see a recent version. Pink Tone did a concert with AHM in it. It's filmed in an ancient amphitheater with a selected few spectator and they ask them to avoid making any noise because the microphones were actually all around the place to pick up a Live at Pompeii vibe.
To me this is the highlight of this concert. I bought it on blueray and listen to the track trio all the time on my phone. Absolutely wonderful! Love the funky bass track at the end of Atom Heart Mother. Guy Pratt rocks it out! I think I would rather see this concert than Roger Waters (seen him twice) or David Gilmour.
At this time in 2019 Nick was 75 years of age and still going strong whereas recently Phil Collins at the age of 73 call it off he could no longer play drum because of old age...Salute to Nicholas Berkeley Mason.
I’m a drummer. I guess you’d say pro. What I like about nick mason is his slow…slow…clear playing! He uses lots of melody on the Toms. Usually the older drummers from the era played small sets and just did little jazz licks and only uses a basic of 2 Toms. Nick uses a big kit and does so much tom melody. He chose to play slow artful music so that when get got old…he could still play it! Smart! Not like a metal drummer who fades at 40. Nick is a good cymbal player too. Zones. Ring. Ping. Swell. Zones on the snare. Peck. Pop. Wham! The slow separation of his drums. It better be in tune! It would be noticed if not tuned. What a dynamic player. No ego.
Glad Nick is still going strong. Atom heart mother was originally recorded in quadraphonic sound. A first for Pink Floyd. I still have the lp I bought decades ago. But I'm sure I wore out more than a couple cassettes.
PF have often said how poor this AHM is ... but I bloody love it. It could have been recorded better for sure but the title track, If and Fat Old Sun are great. It's great great to hear again. I would rather hear this than either new Roger or Dave. All power to Nick. See you in September in Aussie.
No comment.
Fab - sad you now won’t be in Ipswich. Wish Nick and co would do Embryo - still my never played favourite. Atom Heart Mither another neglected classic so thanks for bringing that back.
thanks to Mr. Mason for giving us the opportunity to continue living these masterpieces 🙏🏻. It's sad, however, to hear Lee Harrys mercilessly demolish one of the most poignant solos in the history of music. Almost offensive
Sometimes I wonder how much the life is stranger than the fiction: Guy Pratt never liked Roger Waters and makes fun of him and his bass playing techniques. And for the longest time he’s stuck doing playing RW’s parts.
i think these guys doing this is a wonderful end and testament to pink floyd if this is what we are going to get in these later years. I hope they do it for a few more years as it has been brilliant every time I have gone

Is this Nick Mason's version? It's hypnotic

Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt do a tremendous job with these old Floyd songs.
I understand that the floyds might consider Atom Heart Mother as a whole a tad uncoherent, but I think it is among their best work.
absolutely one of their best
It has an atmosphere of its own.

it's a very funny book..
In your life? An old guy writing on some paper is “the best thing that has happened to you in your life?” You must be living a boring life so far.
What I like most in this song is the conversation between the two guitars. Master picce.
This is probably the best Atom Heart Mother version I've heard. Abridged just perfectly.
I don't think so....
There once was a kid named Syd who would have been so proud of his brother Nick❤️
The arrangement and the acoustic guitar intermezzo is really beautiful.
There is also someone like me who did not even hope to hear these songs live in his life ??? And those songs are played by two members of Pink Floyd !!!!! :DDDDDDD
"Never in my wildest dreams. You boys nailed it." is what I told Lee Harris on his facebook page.

@@777jones yes i cried too :)
love Guy Pratt. ❤️
Love these old songs...

Absolutely incredible....Greetings from Brasil!

i think the atom heart mother need to be played in full
Nick still fantastic in his late 70’s ! ❤
He's the Ringo of Floyd
Nick Mason is one of my favorite humans!
✌👽👍🧠🌌♾
Dr nick mason...super Pink Floyd abraços....
It was amazing and I was there)
Epic majestic and beautiful

I would actually love to go see this show.
Que alegría volver a ver a mi amigo Nick muchas gracias🏮🦸

wish i could of been at UFO at that magical time.
Pink Floyd never played this music at UFO : it is from 1970 and UFO closed in1967.
MARAVILLOSO
Nick Mason is a drum God that’s why Neil Peart of Rush listed him as one of his top few drumming influences
Great vide and great camera
Ottimo riadattamento.
Bravi.
Guy pratt has been with floyd for over 30 year's
including once being married to Rick's daughter
goosebumps......
I do agree, tremendous is the good word.
Grande pink Floyd parabéns nick
Dankeschön
This kicks the asses of Dave and Roger. :-)
Have Pink Floyd ever played theses songs like that If + Atom + If? Does anubody have this peformance?
Nick Mason looks like my next door neighbors grandfather.
Would have been nice to see the other guitarist in this video.
You're absolutely right!
Shame on me
>>facepalm
@@papystones yes you should be ashamed of yourself 😉😂
Perfeito. Som de pink Floyd atravessando gerações
How those Brits love their Hiwatt amps
Hihi! Guy Pratt imitates Roger Waters basslines very closely during the guitar solo. What a shame to end IF so abruptly!
Sometimes I wonder how much the life is stranger than the fiction: Guy Pratt never liked Roger Waters and makes fun of him and his bass playing techniques. And for the longest time he’s stuck doing playing RW’s parts.
I don't get where you got that information from.
The AHM catarsis woow!
👏👏👏👏❗❗❗❗🕊️💜🕊️👑🕊️💜🕊️👏👏👏👏❗❗❗❗
I hated when you skipped Nick himself on 1:23 lol thanks for sharing
He does not sleep, believe me :)
@@papystones he's just meditating isn't he? 🤣
That transition... oof
Lasciate perdere.

I love that wee song. And the moaning guitar solo.
