    Just back here to say "Thanks".... this video made me aware of the DivMMC-Future, and so I now have owned one for the past month or so, and use it with my Spectrums regularly; mostly with my 128k +2/B as it has the best picture and audio quality through RGB cables, that I've found yet.... loading games from this is amazing, and so relieable.... Thanks again for this video :-)

      I’m looking at this in August ‘21!😝 Does it work ok?
      If you buy it “preloaded” what exactly comes on it? Does it come with a near complete collection of Speccy games already on it?! (That would be amazingly cool as I’m a total noob when it comes to anything like downloading roms etc.😖😝)
      Do you recommend it?
      Thanks 😊

      @@andydavidson1278 Not sure if you are talking to me or Paul, but I do recommend it. In fact I have two. They *don't" come "preloaded" but with a small selection of allowed titles. All you do is put the SD card reader in your computer and copy the files and folders to it that you want to play. It really is that simple. You can find most games on worldofspectrum.net/games/a.html and I really recommend just adding the games you want to play, rather than every game in the world because that's a bit overwhelming and there is a LOAD of crap games for the spectrum. If you did want every game in the universe, you can download the lot from archive dot org archive.org/download/ZXSpectrum_201808/ROMS.zip
      Hope this helps!

    I have finally got myself another speccy after all these years and have been asking on the groups which SD card reader to get and although this is a pricey option I think this is the one I am going to get although it will have to wait so it's going to be tapes and MP3 loading for me for a bit.

      The DivMMC Future is only £59 at the moment on the TFW8B website, normally £69? www.thefuturewas8bit.com/shop/sinclair/divmmcfuture.html
      I will look into the ShamaZX. I have not heard of it.

    • @stevesstuff1450
      @stevesstuff1450 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those games shown on the card are NOT what you get if you order a DivMMC Future with SD card. You do get a few starter games, but nothing that was 'known' back in the day.... there is also a newer file system added to the SD card which includes C64 and BBC freeware stuff too!! Plenty of room though (it is a 16GB SD card) to add your own TAP and Z80 Spectrum files onto. :-)

    • @baze3SC
      @baze3SC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, unfortunately you can't. DivMMC uses the SPI protocol instead of ATA, therefore the low-level interfacing routines are different. There wasn't any publicly available documentation back when DivMMC got released. Although I have a working SPI driver I never forced myself to update FATware. I just felt that esxDOS was already a mature system. Honestly, it takes many months of development and unlike hardware manufacturers I never got a single penny. Only Zaxon once sent me an interface for testing. Not that I don't enjoy doing it but naturally I can't wholly commit myself to such a project, especially if I'm expected to buy hardware from the very same people who will then flash the firmware and proceed to sell interfaces.
