It is relevant to have the front wheels and the steering centered. The new clockspring comes centered and locked in place with a yellow tab that must be removed ONLY if the wheels, steering wheel AND clockspring are centered. Failure to do so, will cause the clockspring to break when you steer hardover to either side. You did it right on your video. Just wanted to bring up the utmost importance. Arturo
Good video I just replaced the cock spring in my 2006 ram 2500 Cummins. No more air bag light! The only difference on the 2006 and newer is that the lever for the tilt has a Torx T20 screw holding it on.Also if you are going to change the Clock spring you need a T20 torx screw driver like used in the video here and not a torx socket that can be used on a ratchet because the hole for the screw is very narrow. All in all this video helped me tackle this quick fix very quickly.
Thanks for this. I need to replace my clock spring as well. It has been setting on the workbench since Thanksgiving! Your truck is about like mine 'cept mine is a 6 speed but has only 163,000 miles. It will be nice to lose the airbag light and get cruise control back.
Must be the age..mine is a 2005 RAM srt10 with only 15 thousand miles and the dealer told me that the clockspring needs replacing because my horn don't work. Well I saw this video and I told them that I'll do it myself. Thanks👍 for the video.
Dear sir, my car is Dodge Dakota 2006, and I have the same issue with my Airbag light. Can you please guide me where to buy the clock spring? Thank you.
Does this help remove steering wheel play? Iv replaced the gearbox and steering shaft already with borgeson stuff and still have play from 11-1. A Ford guy told me the clock spring helps with play in the fords but he wasn’t sure about my 2004 dodge
Changing mine today. Air bag light, abs, brake light, speedometer, auto locks, heat/ac, and Windows are all not working. Through tons of research and never hearing about this clock spring until a friend mentioned it, told me many devices are connected to it. Hoping this works otherwise it looks like I'll need to replace the forward control module. Thanks for the video it will help alot!
Oh, okay, thanks, helihoot. I was sort of joking, anyway, because the likelihood of the guy who played "Captain Kangaroo" and was the host of the CBS Storybreak posting his own videos like this here on the TH-cam are pretty slim, I bet.

Good deal. The dealer is charging me 950 for the same job on a 2013 ram 2500.
That helps me, thank u so much
You are welcome

Just curious, what is that lever for on the center floorboard for?Thanx

My radio controls began to work intermittently in addition to the airbag light coming on.

I doubt the clockspring will fix your problem but it's worth a try since they go bad eventually anyway and they don't cost that much.
+helihoot this is true. crossing fingers and all but think it will end up being the fcm
Heheh, are you Bob Keeshan? If not, what's your real name?
