My dear friend Krishna McKenzie from Solitude farm came for a visit with his 3-day permaculture workshop participants and I took them on a tour of my food forest !
Grateful to share with like minded people and a little story of how I started to grow my own food!
    hope you enjoy

Hello! Sarah I am new to your channel I just happen to stumble seing your garden one time I was watching some gardening channel. I am 70 yrs. old an organic gardener here in the U. S. been gardening for a long time now I grow different kinds of vegetables from salad greens to fruits vegetables. I am so inspired by you working in the garden by yourself really digging with your bare hands don’t care about getting dirty. That is a really true gardener. I loved your permaculture garden all the trees you planted as well as vegetables. And how you created the recipes for all your harvest. I grow up from the Philippines up the Northern region and those fruits you planted are all familiar to me how I miss those fresh pick. Happy gardening and looking forward for your next video. God bless.

I am from the Philippines also Mam Lita. Before , I dont appreciate the style of my parents in farming and planting. They are planting a little of almost all trees and plants. They dont follow traditional farming of few plants only. That way we are not having a lot of money because were NOT planting traditionally. But now I appreciate their style because we have a lot and a variety of fruits and plants now. We have a food forest that way.

    • @litaanderson1589

@@ss-ib8gm you can start gardening or change the way you practice gardening by amending your garden soil with organic soil, organic herbicide and organic seeds. And also do composting little by little your gardening practice will be a sustainable food to eat. I’m not an expert but I think that’s a start, we do’t choose produce by the looks but choose the taste.

From a seed a great tree grows, in our minds also, love how you explain the humble beginning, no great plan, just make the first step, plant a tree, or a berry bush or some seeds, whatever works in your climate, and see what happens….🙏🌱

You are a inspiration to all us fruitarians. I started a garden with 50 fruit trees and about 40 grapes and berries vines. I did get to start 2 papapa trees I planted them in a hoop house and I'm worries they will get to tall. when they are over 8 feet tall is there a way to trim or cut them to get them to grow on the side like your did? I live in the desert so growing papaya is awesome.

I think if the land is cheap you should acquire at least 1500 square meter land to grow a proper garden specially when you are doing exhibition to public or making you tube videos.800 sqm is little less.I know bigger land will be difficult to take care of but if you can do 800 you can also extend to 1500.
