- Today we are going to be doing a fishing challenge where I test the Senko vs. the Jig in the same situations to find out which one is better! I love fishing boat docks using these two bass fishing lures, but which one get's more bass to bite and which one catches more fish? I had no idea this time which lure is going to win out, but you're going to have to watch to find out for yourself! SUBSCRIBE if you like this content so we can get to 250K SUBSCRIBERS!

gotta go with sheep cuz the father in law has a sheep farm lol

Hurricanes in Minnesota. You’re funny, Tyler. 🦓
That’s the Silent Hill siren. It’s a weekly/monthly thing up here in Minnesota 😂
I literally said 1 o’clock on a Wednesday lol
@@nathankelly3928 I was thinking "noon on Friday" but, yeah.
Tyler
I assume you were fishing 1pm on a Wednesday right?
That is every Wed at that time
Making sure severe weather sirens work
"A hurricane thing?" On a lake in the north widwest? MN is full of lakes but i don't think Lemony Snicket's Lake Lachrymose hurricane description fits that region... or any because it's fictional. Good books though!
I love a weedless senko for dock fishing though! Love this video!
What lake is this in Minnesota?
These comparison videos are so great! It allows everyone to hone in on choosing baits, you still have flukes, tubes, and crawls to compare!!!
Man thought the lord was coming at 4:17 😂🤣
your response to the noon tornado siren test was hilarious
This man never misses. Always putting out bangers. Keep up the good work big dawg
Thanks Zach!
“Just fish a Texas rigged senko!” There’s a song about that. LOL!! 🎵🎶
I keep singing that song through the whole video, LOL
That was a fun video Tyler, thanks
I fish mostly ponds, and I gotta say that senkos are the most consistently effective lures out there. When I'm on getting bites, I resort to the weightless senko 😆
That is either a tornado/thunderstorm siren which they test once a month. Or it could have been a fire alarm which goes off well if there’s a fire but I think they test that once a month as well.
Thanks for the great content Tyler! I’d love to see one of these with a swim jig and a bladed jig along grass/ heavy cover.
i agree
Thanks tyler your awsome keep up the great work
Wow, I was just fishing senkos out on the boat, and was catching them by skipping them under the dock. I have never had much success with jigs, so this will be interesting to watch. Great video Tyler!
Awesome 👍🏾👍🏾
Usually for Tornados in Minn, it goes off every wed at 1 for a test.
I was gonna say the same. We've got a tornado siren right down the road from our house here in Missouri.
Hey Tyler I genuinely love your videos I make sure I like them cuz I want you to succeed I hope nothing but the best and I’m ready for the 2 months of content to be uploaded. Keep up the work
Dock fishing certainly is interesting... need to balance a good cast, boat position, wind, current, and random stuff people have tied to their docks all while feeling for bites! Definitely takes some practice and you can't be afraid to get broken off. Awesome video - keep 'em coming!
Tyler is definitely the best fishing youtuber out there!
Good video man. Turned out pretty much the way I expected it would though.
By far my favorite way to fish!
i was planning on using thess 2 baits tonight, the vid came out at the perfect time
Great video!
Super Cool intro Tyler!
More fish / average size were favoring jig, but still biggest fish of the day came on Senko, yah? Great video. Loved the comparison.
Bro at 4:17 the purge was goin off lol
🗣️ “nuke inbound” 😱
Your reactions to the siren are priceless😂😂😂
Skippin’ like a boss 👍
I just got back from my trip in Michigan and the fish loved the chatterbait! So that is all I used lol and caught 3 decent bass and 3 decent sized pikes. My wife caught a 26 inch pike on the whopper plopper and that was really cool to see.
Your my favorite TH-cam!!! Love the videos
Yay! Thank you!
A challenge of best working lure around wood and grass, or something along those mucky lines! Would be awesome, great vid!
I’m so jealous bc my friend met you at Bassmaster classics😂
I'm sure we will get to meet one day!
I was hoping the worm would win. I am so much more comfortable fishing a texas rig worm. But I will continue to practice with the jig and watch your videos to get better at it. It's certainly a proven bait that I must get better at. Thanks for the instructional videos. You are a natural at it.
If you've got any kind of clean bottom like I had under the docks, jig will win
Mist of the time the siren is a test to make sure it’s working in case of an emergency.👍
Shakeyhead (1/8oz owner) paired with a speed worm (watermelon red), dipped tail. Fire dock bait, you get that tail movement of a bluegill, but can also fish it slow and keep the bait in the shade. Give her a shot my man! You'll also get nailed when you reel it back into the boat.
That was a fire alarm, small towns in Minnesota have them. Love the northern videos because that is where I fish. You should do an offshore largemouth video in Minnesota. Love this channel. Best tips on TH-cam!
it’s a tornado siren. i bet he was fishing on a wednesday because the first wednesday of the month they are tested.
Yes he should do an offshore fishing vid I can’t catch bass offshore on my home northern natural lake to save my life I can only find fish around docks and emergent grass such as lily pads but we only have a 15 yard stretch of them
Just wait gus... just wait... I got exactly what you're asking for coming very soon...
@@TylersReelFishing Awesome can't wait!
🤣🤣 That tornado siren though!! Same thing happened to me getting lunch today. It went on for about 2 minutes. Don't know if Minnesota gets tornados but we do in Indiana.
Oh man your face when the doom Alert went off😂 and then again 😂
I love your video
In my personal opinion nothing skips like a stick bait..BUT nothing gets big bites like a jig. A stick bait will get more bites in more places so if you’re fishing for numbers, the stick bait will win every time…but if you’re fishing for size, well, a jig is hard to beat. Stick bait is easier to get in and out, I think too but I also think a jig punches through better unless you have that stick bait pegged with a big weight. I feel like it’s situational and really depends on area (how pressured is it) and fishery and condition in which the dock is in and also placement. Idk this will be interesting.
you couldn’t have said it any better
I grew up with those tornado sirens. Every week, same time.
I challenge you to design your own bait. You can incorporate whatever baits you want, including live bait, but it has to be unique.
We have sirens like that in Illinois. Theyre tornado sirens. Most towns will test them once a month. Ours does it every second Tuesday every month at noon.
Awesome content man, love the videos and have learned a lot. What are some good sunglasses you reccomend? I've used Oakley as well as others and still have some problems seeing fish in the water weather they're Polarized or not.
Bro your content keep up the good work 🎉❤
Thank you!!
In Oklahoma most towns at 1200 noon on Saturday test their alert sirens. They usually last about 3 minutes.
In Iowa on Saturdays during the summer Test for tornado put down here Naples Florida is a lighting warning
Well done. Killing it with your skipping skills.
Hate seeing you lose $7.00 jigs but, in the scheme of things, just another cost of having fun!
Oh, and your reaction to the ALARM was so funny!!!
Be well and Thank You.
That alarm/siren is for tornado or a severe thunderstorm warning, but it also goes off every first Wednesday of the month for tests.
I live in Wisconsin and hear those all the time hahaha
We have sirens like that in va there testing them incase something happens to the power plant
Let’s see a spinner bait/ chatter bait challenge
Tyler i hope you get into the pros one day because you are definitely good enough brother. God Bless and thanks for the content
I appreciate that! Most likely not the path I will take but ya never know!
@@TylersReelFishing yes its a stressful costly job. Only you and Jesus know your path. Im sure it'll be a good one tyler, your one heck of a guy from what i can tell.
I laughed so hard when you paused and looked around like a cat in shock at the sirens hahaha. In the northeast they're for firecalls, for emergencies or fires in the area.
Haha definitely shocked me for sure
Cool video dude. In Kentucky that Alarm is the Volunteer Fire Department 🚒 call sign to report to the station
You should make a video about the benefits of skipping under a dock compared to just casting around the dock, how many fish caught underneath vs around the dock
Great videos Tyler! Huge fan and look forward to your new videos weekly. Have you ever thought of raffling off a fishing trip with you? Or maybe you travel to a "fans" area and fish their top lakes in the area with them? Would be pretty neat.
Got two opportunities to win giveaway trips with me coming this fall! Stay tuned!
@@TylersReelFishing That's awesome! Not sure if you've fished upstate NY's finger lakes but they are pretty solid over here!
When i’m skipping a senko style worm. I like to have it on a hook with a bait keeper. Whether thats a flipping hook or a wide hap hook with a bait keeper. It keeps the worm straight after making that skip.
GOAT
In Wisconsin those tornado sirens sound on Saturday at noon. I hope a tornado never hits at that exact time.
4:20 the new leaf blower
Love the vid! Can you make a video fishing chatterbaits at ponds? Keep up the good work.
Search "tylersreelfishing chatterbait" and you'll find a video I've done it on. Filmed on my boat but just as much applies to ponds. Use that searching method for EVERYTHING
My bad Tyler no need to get mad
The siren is first Wednesday of the month for us
Hey Tyler, do you think you could do a breakdown video on the shaky head? Btw that intro was sick 🔥🔥🔥
I will this fall!
Most likely a tornado alarm.
I'll have to give those Ocho worms a try. I usually have great luck with the shim-e-stick.
In Oklahoma, that’s a tornado siren!
I belive some of the dams around here will sound a siren like that when they start opening more spillways, they do that to let people down the river know the amount of water coming down could be changing pretty rapidly.
Your video was very good. Thank you for sharing your information. I would however like to know what color the skirt was on your jig I can't really tell by looking at the video. I know you mentioned I believe you said you were in Minnesota I live in Virginia so I'm interested in what color you are using for your jig and also for your Ocho wondering if they will also work in Virginia
Ahh, its like here in NY fishing Hudson valley area and the resoviors..you hear random Indian Point siren drills..and hope it's not the real thing..🤣 true story ask about it
4:00 Homie thought the rapture was upon him 😂😂😭 Yo but like others have said, it's the classic 1pm first-wednesday-of-the-month tornado alarm test! Or an actual tornado. Either or.
tornado siren test maybe
I’m in Michigan n we test our tornado sirens on the first Saturday of every month sounds like u where pretty close to one to me
1pm on the first Wednesday of the month Minnesota tests it's tornado sirens.
It’s a tornado siren Tyler 🤣
that siren alarm comes on every first Wednesday of the month. haha i thought it was a thing all over the country but guess its just MN. haha
Great video! When you are switching out lures like this, do you direct tie, or use a snap/snap-swivel? Thanks!
Direct tie. Snaps and swivels just add unneeded complexity
IDK if theres a dam nearby, but sometimes theres also sirens when they open them to make sure the area is clear.
Do you trim the bristles on your jigs? Bill Dance claims to trim them an 1/8 of a in parallel with the hood to not loose them. I wondered if that makes a difference. I never have luck with a jig in Illinois. Chatter baits and Senkos in my area
That’s a tornado siren here in Kansas but your reaction I’m 💀💀😂😂😂😂
Thats the tornado sirens being tested. Usually the first Wednesday of every month. Man you initial reaction was hilarious though.
Those sirens are used in some (mostly Rural) areas still to alert Volunteer Fire Departments of a call to respond. In addition to that, some places do monthly testing of their emergency sirens.
I like dogs ( I followed your IG story
First Wednesday of the month 😂
They test the tornado sirens
It’s for tornadoes. They do it every month usually
Those sirens are called cow bells in key and they are set off to let you know to go to cover there is a tornado in the area. But sometimes they are just marking sure they work. And a favorite animal is a bass from the bass farm lol 🐟
That is a alarm that they test the first week of the month
That siren happens every first Wednesday of every month
Tornado sirens go off every Saturday at noon here in Oklahoma
dude... that starter stash is killing me. JK Tyler. Great info as always
I shaved that off promptly after editing this video lol
? Tyler can braid be used too skip docks instead of fluro or mono thx
Yep!
hey a good way to do a lure compare is to do like 5 cast with jig and 5 with senko on same dock because i know my wife and i do docks where i come thru with a jig and she is in back doing senko and they will hit one and not the other just so both baits get the same docks and eliminate every excuse HAHA
Ive heard those sirens in country areas for respond from home fireman. I’m country areas they use it to tell the fireman to get to the firehouse. Just my guess.
My favorite farm animal is a tie between a rubber lipped swamp donkey and a pot bellied ditch pickle, both of which you seem to catch in abundance
Siren practice for tornados. Don't have hurricans up here. Haha. Skol!
SKOL!
Have you ever done a Tokyo rig video? I searched and couldn’t find one. Just curious if you’d ever do a comparison of that and a Texas rig/jig/etc. or if you don’t think Tokyo rig is efficient
KABOOMED🎣🎣🎣
How could anyone’s favorite farm animal be anything but a llama 🦙
Hey question how often do you change your fluro
In Michigan they test the tornado sirens the first Saturday of every month at 1pm.
