This movie is considered one of the best of all time. I can say that it is the best performance I have seen from Marlon Brando, the truth is that it was a pleasure to see him act in this role, in which he stood out and even won the Oscar Award: as best actor (in the year 1972) it really is a charming film, since they leave good teachings. Thank you for giving us information about the life of the actors. Blessings.
The Best. Do you know how he inevented Vito Corleone? How he received Copolla and the producers in his house with make up, cotton in his mouth and talking like that? They went crazy. But the real casting was made by Copolla, they wanted Ryan O’neall to play Michael. WHAT? A big shot at Paramount didn’t want by Any chance Brando and Pacino. Marlon Brando is the greatest actor because of his unmatched acting range. From 1950-60 he played a paraplegic in THE MEN, Stanley Kowalski in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, a Mexican revolutionary in VIVA ZAPATA, Mark Anthony, a Hell's Angel in THE WILD ONE. Terry Malloy in ON THE WATERFRONT, Napoleon in DESIREE, sang and danced in GUYS AND DOLLS, a Japanese man in TEAHOUSE OF THE AUGUST MOON, a contrite nazi in YOUNG LIONS then directed ONE EYED JACKS.

At 44, Al Lettieri finally gained stardom for his part in this and then "The Getaway" , "McQ", "Mr Majestyk" among others before passing just three years later. So sad.
The lighting in the moment when Lettieri plays Sollozzo telling Tom Hagen "let me worry about Luca" was truly frightening as it made a guy who already was perceived as evil even more so. And the little gesture that Lettieri makes with his mouth - showing his upper row of teeth over his lower lip - wow. Simple but inspired.

I’m sure a lot of you know that Connie, in real life is Francis Ford Copolla’s sister. In the scene where Carlo bits her, he liked to hit women in real life, si he really punch her and left a black eye, a secretary told James Caan what happened and asked him to beat him for real in the scene, so he did it, people that didn’t know said “We didn’t rehearse that” and the producers, Copolla, the secretary and Pacino where laughing and enjoying the moment.
