In the scene where Carlo bits her, he liked to hit women in real life, si he really punch her and left a black eye, a secretary told James Caan what happened and asked him to beat him for real in the scene, so he did it, people that didn’t know said “We didn’t rehearse that” and the producers, Copolla, the secretary and Pacino where laughing and enjoying the moment. Carlo or Giani, ended up in an ambulance with broken ribs.
