Super recipe.. I just finished cooking it. The aroma and the taste is just like the way my Mai, my maternal grandma and Mum used to make it. Love the way you explain and go through the steps. Way to Go Wendy...
Best Goan prawn ladyfingers curry, everyone absolutely loved it. Perfect balance of sour and spicy, beautiful explosion of flavours. Deserves 5 stars. I'm glad I followed the recipe to the T it was well explained & spot on. Thank you for sharing, this one's a keeper!
I am a sucker for goan prawn curry. Had never attempted to make it myself but then I thought I have to as I now live outside India and there’s no way I could’ve gotten where I am. While searching for recipes, I came across yours and I swear, this is the only recipe I now make. Though I don’t enjoy eating any kind of meat much now, so the 2nd time, I replaced prawns with potatoes and green beans and it’s still lip smacking. I love it. Thank you for sharing this with us. This is my go to recipe.
I made this per instruction, minus clovers and use of small dried birds eye chillies.. This was absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. 😊😊
Hi Madam Just made the prawns curry as per your recipe. And believe me the result was yummy and aromatic It took some tine but with it Thank you so much for this recipe

Hi Wendy have been preparing the shrimp curry my whole life but never came across a receipy with curry leaves, cloves and cinnamon. I use red chillies, dry coriander, tamarind, cumin and turmeric. Having said this I will definitely try your version. I love your presentation and I'm pretty sure this must be tasting awesome.

You can definitely substitute fish for the shrimp😊
Wow Wendy, loved the recipe... I use shortcuts of ready made masala powders of various goan dishes.. But you have inspired me to go the whole way..Keep it going girl..
Thanks Clare ! the flavour that comes from grinding this simple curry paste is simply delicious and authentic. It’s definitely worth the trouble ♥️
Wendy.. All your recipes are delicious and so well demonstrated. Could you please let me know what make of grinder you use. Thanks so much ! Kudos to you !

Love it. What’s the name of your grinding machine?
Thanks Loretta. I’m using a Preethi Eco plus mixer
Very nice 👌👌👍👍
I like your cooking
Thanks Roquezinha 🥰
Hi Wendy. Any suggestions for a good mixer grinder brand available in Canada
Prethi
Thanks for the recipe and just want to find out can we use frozen shrimps. It's wonderful and yummy yummy
Salina , you can most definitely use frozen shrimps when making this curry. It will still taste delicious 😋
Hello Wendy please can you post a video of prawn briyani
Will add to the list
👌
How long do you cook the prawns for? At what point will it start overlooking?
Prawns cook very fast. They take about 5-6 minutes to cook. Follow my TH-cam and recipe and it will turn out perfect!
What is the brand of coconut milk you added. Thanks 🙏
Aroy-D. Any brand should do.
What appliance have you used for this recipe please? Looks like I’m out of touch as I have 2 grinders: 1 for dry ingredients and 1 for wet ingredients which is just unnecessary work. Thanks
I have used the Preethi mixer grinder
How many servings?
Should serve 4-6 persons
Could I avoid using coconut milk? Thanks 🙏
Yes, you can
Is it lasies finger added
Yes Lady fingers.
Hi Wendy my prawn curry is quite spicy anyway to calm it down😅
Add more coconut milk & a dash of sugar.
Thank you for your prompt reply
Is this an extra spicy dish?! What were the okras for?! & Why only five of them?!
Nope, this curry is not spicy. The okras are traditionally added to the curry and five are enough to compliment the amount of shrimp I've used.
When do you add tamarind
Irvine, the tamarind pulp is added when grinding the curry paste
Love the recipe, but I avoid the sugar used in most of the goan dishes.
Yes you can avoid sugar as per your preference.
If you’re watching calories, use unsweetened almond milk instead of coconut milk. It will need a couple tbsps of sugar, though.
👍 👌 ♥ 🦐 👏 W ☺
Goans do not use curry leaves or cilantro at all in their curry that is Catholics I mean
Philomena, I have not used any curry leaves and have used just a little cilantro for garnish.
@@PlatinItWithWendy “I have not used any curry leaves” 🤔 What was that you added right before the onions?!
I mistook which video this comment was about. Curry leaves and cilantro have been used in my recipe for years. If you want, you can skip them when you make the curry
Lip smacking.😋
Thanks Amrita.
