I was reluctant to watch this. I vaguely remember reading it had a bad ending, and I hate that. I'm still not too happy about the ending, but it was really an amazing show, and I might end up watching it again. I was certainly more than impressed with the acting, especially on Cheng Yi's part. There are also many other upsides to this production, the story is very solid, well thought out and layered, and the female lead character is one of the smartest I've seen on TV. Not just brainy, but wise and strong willed. I loved that. And I love Yang Zi in general. But, yeah, I found myself wondering at Cheng Yi's acting skills repeatedly throughougt 59 episodes.
Yang Zi and Cheng Yi are cute together, I wish to see more of them in full romantic drama. They both deserve to be King and Queen. I'm not shipping them but stating the fact that they look cute to be a real couple. Friends can be lovers.
