- Compound men's team gold medal match between USA and Denmark at the third stage of the 2021 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Paris, France. Compound archers shoot at a target 50 metres away and the central 10-ring measures just 8cm in diameter.

The US team looks like abunch of bow hunters that were like “let’s go try to make the world archery finals”
My gson was in archery which meant I went to a lot of tournaments, and yes some of the top target archers (outdoor target) are hunters but not all.
What’s wrong with that?

Denmark couldn't shoot 3D if they tried. They are indoor shooters.

I am disappointed in the USA for the simple fact that we had the gold twice in archery
great commentary too. Hunters usually have to "punch" release with a moving animal. waiting for the right time and releasing....Now. As far as a target, many say surprise release is more accurate. I definitely punch when the shot is right
I find that at least when Im not focusing on my release enough and I punch it that my groupings are either consistently high, or low left. It gets more obvious at 60 yards and up
What bow was lutz using?
Excellent show of talent, but TH-cam ads ruined this. Virtually every US first arrow had an ad pop up immediately after release.

I did notice string to nose tip consistency with Denmark vs USA.
Did they say what the distance is . looks like 50 yards.

Did it seem like USA started walking away from their mark as soon as they released? The shots are still extremely impressive regardless, but could that be where things got a little off.
Arrow is already in the target much sooner before that....

I think I could make this team.
I realize these archers are World Professionals, but what ever happened to form? Follow through? These archers punch the trigger and don't follow through. They drop their bow and walk off. I was always instructed, you squeeze the trigger, let the bow fall away from you, hold your position, don't "peek", don't move. Watch the arrow to the target. Just my 2¢
Repeatability is more important then perfect form. Better form helps with it but it is not necessary
In a team round, each archer has to finish their shot as soon as possible in order to give their teammates enough time to complete their shots. As such, they will practice leaving the line as soon as possible after they execute a shot, to ensure they can do so without negatively affecting their accuracy.

I hate how they shoot archery events. They all do it the same way! Face, cut to target. Show the arrow in flight! Give us the over the shoulder shot. Let us see the arrow fly through the air. Let us get some perspective on how far the targets are away. Someone please hire me to do the directing. I'll do much better.

Well as a man who was a member the USA national field archery association back in the early 90, s I completed in many events ,my spare time job was practice, practice , practice.i shot indoors at 20 yds perfect score was 300 . At the states indoor league I shot a 299 bow hunter free style , other competition was perfect score, so you think that these guys are good, I wish I was 30 yr old I would kick there ass

Ok USA men. Don't move your bow till the arrow hits the target. Your punching your shots. Confidence is great but standing to long to get a shot off or hurrying a shot without making sure your bow is level. Consistency is the answer thanks babe to all your shots. Better luck next time.

Archery is a sport of precision and accuracy under pressure, depends on wether or not you think a golder is an athlete I suppose
