Rob Bolland is active in the music scene for a long time already. In my previous interview with him, Rob already shared the story behind the #1 hit “Rock Me Amadeus” by the late Falco, which he wrote and produced together with his brother Ferdi.
For this week’s vlog I asked him about the story behind “You’re In The Army Now”, a track which came out in the year 1981 under the project name Bolland. The track was very succesful in Scandinavia, but in other countries the song didn’t really became a big hit.
But…. In the year 1986 “In The Army Now” became a big success when British band Status Quo did cover the track. Their version topped the charts in countries such as Austria, Ireland, former West Germany and Iceland. In the UK, Norway, France and Spain it was a #2 hit. Plus in many other European countries the track made it into the charts as well.
For this week’s vlog I sat down with Rob Bolland to ask him about the story behind “You’re In The Army Now”.
