omg at first with the pop/techno music i got seriously dissapointed but when it came to the italian verses of puccini's opera... i almost cried, what a voice:)
I believe that if a singer is good at her job, talented and knows what she is doing, even in a modernized edgy song, she will not loose the emotion that must be expressed! Malena is not a young funky pop girl with basic knowledge of opera. She is a tremendously great artist!
Also the way they put the modern music along with the opera part is quite nice... I think its way more moving if you know what the opera is actually about. (which is also seen in the lyrics of this song)

Sorry but I don't think there is anything outstanding about her voice. And good singers don't need a lot of production in the background.
