This track, the shriek at the end, finally becoming one with the nil.. he becomes the wraith, that is the essence of track 2.. the only one not dealing with suicide. He becomes the "voice" that haunts the subject in tracks 3-10, before the subject becomes the ghost again, to possess, infect, and repeat, ad infinitum. Thats the album's secret. It becomes an infinite loop of being haunted, succumbing to the voice, becoming the very voice, that haunts the self over and over again. Track 10 (leaving) becomes Track 1 (arriving).
You know, the cover of this album reminds me the atmosphere of one game, that I played not that long ago. And seeing the cover of this Leviathan's album remind me exactly that game. The game is called «Song of Horror» (2019), where there is a lot of darkness. And the whole concept about doors, behind which evil is hidden. And this cover remind me the moment of the game, if you can't hold the door and evil opens the door and takes hold of the main character, dragging him/her to that «evil realm». The cover of this album looks like someone or something dragging the character to somewhere dark, which I find interesting.
Everything by leviathan is 10/10 the man has a really unique and terrifying way of writing music. I recommend the tracks Gardens of Corprolite, Vesture Dipped In Blood of Mourning, Shed This Skin and Of Hive and The Haunted Sea if you wanna get a good idea of all the different types of sound he incorporates
Great reaction! This is probably Leviathan’s magnum opus, but Scenic Solitude and Leprosy off this album is also worth checking out. It’s incredibly heavy for lo-fi black metal
I've been off and on checking out Leviathan albums and everytime it is an experience. If you haven't listened to the band Imperial Triumphant you should reallch check out their song Swarming Opulance. The whole album it's from is Avant garde black metal with a lot of blues and jazz influence. On paper it sounds weird but holy shit does it work.
I mean they're not really "gross" or anything, but you should check out a band called Ceterum! I just discovered them and love them! I'd love to know your opinion on them
Juniio yea man! Id recommend "Insolence. Recoil"! I'm new to the channel so I'm not sure if they're your taste but since you're looking for underviewed bands I'd say say they're worth checking out! Edit: also "revealed arcane" has got some nice screams so you may want to check that one out too ;)
You wanna check out "Shitstorm" or "Oh My Fucking God" by Strapping Young Lad. Devin Townsend delivering an accurate representation of what mental illness feels like e: "Happy Camper" is another one that counts. All 3 have some of the craziest vocals I've heard in metal
Should it bother me that I can actually *read* the line after your comment above? Not gonna lie. The shrieking is genuinely hard for me to listen to. Juni, man, this one is just...I dunno man. Too dark for me. Definitely abhorrent and gnarly, though.

Awesome interpretation! I'll have to listen to the whole album again with this in mind.
