Not that I’m an expert or that you need my opinion, but I think you are bang on with your choices. The “meh” ones to declutter are not enhancing your beauty and colouring. As well, your keepers that are closer to Autumn colours are close enough to Spring. I was analyzed as True Autumn in the same system that Carol Brailey uses. I have a number of tops that are really Spring colours. Although they are not my best colours, being out of palette, they are close enough (and I love them!). Eg, olive green shades look fabulous on me but I have a bright lime green T that I love. I have a coral top too that is definitely Spring, but so what? I like it. Most or all of your clothing is warm based which probably matters more. And I like that you’re not just tossing a bunch of your autumnal clothes. Really enjoyed your video!
Thank you! Good to know that people agree 😊 Yes absolutely, as long as the clothes are warm then we're in the right direction! And finding the perfect piece of clothing in your palette is difficult, so if it's close enough than that's alright! Thanks for watching, glad you liked it 😊
I still like the autumn colours on you. As others pointed out, too, I think warm vs cool is the most important parameter. I've recently come to the realization that I might be a Summer instead of a Winter type, since I'm not that extremely high contrast ('clear') and also not that dark. I'm no expert, though. I like both colour palettes and definitely wear clothes that are more soft and muted (Summer) but also typical winter colours like cobalt blue.
@@melligolightly sounds like you would be a cool winter (or cool summer) in the system Vicki was analyzed in, maybe? The cool palette sits between summer and winter.
Thank you! Yes I agree, warmth is the most important factor for me, absolutely no coolness and no neutrality either. I agree with Bethany, you may be a cool winter/summer but it's good you've found for yourself which shades work best for you 😊
I think a lot of the brighter autumn colors you have still look nice on you. I’m honestly surprised you were not classified as a warm spring, since those colors suit you well. But I’m no expert lol
Thank you! I wouldn't have been surprised with a warm spring result either, but the more I play with the true spring palette perhaps the clearer that will become 😊 I'm enjoying the spring colours so far!
Wow bright really does look great on you. You look good in autumn too but bright is great. I noticed that my wardrobe is so much better even if it’s not 100% my season. It’s so much closer than it was before. I’m still learning and understanding but what a huge difference just moving closer to the right direction makes.
I am so happy for you that you are a true spring! I’ve been watching you for a while and while the autumn makeup looked so sophisticated on you, intuitively I felt like you needed more color!
I like that you're not just sticking to your analysis result and declutter every autumn colour, because I do think those brighter autumn colours look great on you! At 15:19 you can see though that you are a spring rather than an autumn as you lose colour in your face when going from the bright red top to the brown. Looking forward to this mini series 😊
I am so jealous 💚You look stunning in all the cozy autumn colors, and I can only imagine how beautiful the gold jewelry would look with these pieces! 🍂
The best color theory representation I have seen is a 3D model, not a flat color wheel. *I think* it makes sense to take clues from ones OWN ACTUAL colors, rather than trying to fit into prearranged buckets suggested by various commercial color theories. These theories are simply generalizations, general guides... Example: look at the shades/hues/tones in YOUR OWN hair, your eyes, your natural blush color in your skin... What makeup colors harmonize, make your skin look clear, your eyes pop? Notice how the most clear vs. most muted flatter your overall look. Also, consider the range of light & dark between your own hair and skin (easy to see in a black & white photo). I've been categorized as Bright Spring and/or a Dark Autumn, so I feel the analysts were noticing my warmth and contrast level, bright peachy skintone, but thrown off by my dark amber eye color. And now my hair has gone grey (salt & pepper) which appears taupe and clashes with camel...
I really like the idea of the 3D model! That's so true what you say about looking at your own actual colours, Color Your Style book I think is about that (I've bought it but yet to read it!). I also try to do a similar thing with contrast, so sticking to medium contrast and not wearing anything too dark or light. And also trying to match my shoes to my hair colour! Although trying to find camel coloured boots is proving tricky....
I don't think you have to get rid of all of your autumn colour clothing. If warm is your strongest characteristic you can borrow from warum autumn anyway, so most of the things should still look good on you.
I won't be! I'll only declutter something if I don't wear it/don't want it anymore. You're right that warm is my dominant characteristic so I can still wear my autumn colours 😊
the henley top in a "meh" colour I agree, great cut, great fit, not a great colour for you, it could be more wearable under a light jacket. Leopard print top, bang on decision, the black is too dark and there's too much contrast in it for your colouring. The green M&S v-neck t-shirt would definitely be better in a spring green on you. I think the only one where I kind of disagreed with you is the 3/4 sleeve light peach v-neck top, I thought that one was too bright for you, it kind of stole the show with your colouring. It is so cool to see your wardrobe! I don't wear ANY of the same colours as you and would never ever buy any of the brown tones--so it's so fun to see this totally foreign perspective on colour. The dark green boat neck longsleeve top I agree is too dark for you, but with your skin tone it does look nice enough.
Thanks for your comments, really interesting! Yes the light peach isn't the perfect colour on me but I just think it's so pretty 😊Ah I agree I love seeing what people have in their wardrobe! And like you, especially when it's a different style or shades to what I'd wear!
@@vickilouise7764 I totally get it--I have tops that aren't the best colour but I love and that is just how it's going to be. I'm glad you didn't throw out your whole wardrobe after your colour analysis because I think your wardrobe is pretty nice.
I’m watching from the vantage point of just being analyzed a blue spring with House of Colour. I totally agree with your declutter options. I think the leopard print top just seems too dark. Does it have a lot of black in it? Anyway, my non-expert opinion is that you would be a golden spring in House of Colour which does include chocolate, beige, tan, cinnamon, honey, peaches, terracotta which of course are great for autumns too. Like I say, my non-expert opinion sitting at my dining room table across the ocean in South Dakota 😊is that the mustards, bright orange and light apple jades are not as striking on you. It is wonderful that so MANY of your wardrobe is still great and you are wise to begin with tops. Autumn is a tough time to find spring colored tops…
Yes there's too much black in the leopard print, I have a leopard print dress that is more subtle in it's pattern which is better for me. Ah golden spring! I did wonder if I'd be that or paintbox. I agree, this is not the time of year to find spring coloured clothing lol!
About a year into my YT channel I cut my hair short and I did quite like it. I do sometimes think about getting a lob again but I'm enjoying the length at the moment 😊
To be fair, they're not vastly different. There is a lot of overlap between them. I feel like House of Colour doesn't have as precise of a system as the one Carol Brailey uses (International Image Institute), so honestly, I think her true spring results are better for her.
I think I am! Especially when it comes to the makeup. As Bethany mentioned the two results I've been given aren't that different, they're both very warm, it's just spring is brighter and autumn is muted. So I'm used to wearing warm shades but not bright colours

I think the autumn colours look good on you. I believe I'm also a spring, but some autumn look good at on me also.
Thanks! I think we can get away with wearing colours from both seasons as long as the value etc is right 😊
