Great info, thank you. I have an R6 ii on the way soon , but the rolling shutter is a slight concern, so might change my mind. 12fps mech. shutter is certainly enough. I usually slow my 1DXii from 14 to 12 anyway. Just a note, as someone who shoots a lot of football (soccer) , the compression of being kicked can deform the ball slightly too at and just after impact, so it’s not always rolling shutter at fault. It’s the improved AF that I’m most excited by.

Your video about the R6 Mark II helped me to make my next camera purchase. Since my 1DX Mark II was a case for the insurance company, for the money I got myself also a R6 Mark II. So in the coming up season I’ll shoot football with the R7/300f2.8 and the R6M2/70-200f2.8 combo. And sometimes an 1DX/16-35f2.8 as my remote camera.
In the beginning I was also struggling with the new autofocus system of the R cameras. So now I have it set on the center point, aim at the person I want to shoot with BBF and then let the amazing autofocus follow that person. With this I always get the best results.

What a great combo you’ll be shooting with Pascal, awesome stuff. I’m loving the R6 II, and the great button customization is also very helpful.

    Nice part 1 video 👍🏻
Part 2 warping or rolling shutter isn't the problem with the ball. The ball is warping due to pressure from the kick. Just physics, choice of material and tolerances
The angel shows it very well. If the ball made a few meters of airtime it would have taken its original form again.

I have a video made specifically for the rolling shutter separate to this one

Yes, part of it is pressure from the kick, but not all of it. It's a lot more evident in the other video if you want to see it. It's not the end of the world, but it's not perfect :)
      Thanks for watching!

Found your videos by searching for R6II reviews, then realised you are also in Cork! I mostly shoot Motocross or other motorcycle racing, but also using an R6 (original version). Torn between the R6II and the R5 original because I am a fiend for cropping! Great images, and I like your website too....
