Once upon a time, there were these mythical beings that wrote their own songs, played their own instruments, sang their own material, and pushed their limits and creatively challenged themselves... then came increased corporate centralization of studios and radio stations. For the last 20-ish years, "musicians" have become a brand, not artists. It's just depressing.

It's kind of mad because if anyone heard any classical music you can have like several different phases of different styles. and people nowadays are shocked by Paul McCartney lol. And "did they use actual bands", like a whole orchestra.. It's kind of sad and cute at the same time. Like I love a lot of modern music don't get me wrong. It's just kind of sad that people don't know the history of music really.

McCartney was the first star/celebrity to write a Bond opening, the Producer heard the final cut of it and said it's great now all we need to do is get someone to sing it for the film, thinking of a female jazz singer for it. McCartney under the assumption he'd be performing for the film said either I sing it or I'm pulling the song and you can get someone else to write the opening.

It's a very great and original track from what I hear. Was he doing this Solo or was he doing it with the wings? I turned 21 in October so I'm pretty much growing up a hip hop head but since the virus started, I started watching a lot of reaction videos about rock and all kinds of music. Honestly I feel like guns n' roses took it to another level but it's really not fair since music or Rock had evolved or some people might not agree. But McCartney gets the head back for writing the music and the lyrics. G&r has become a favorite rock band since the lockdown from Corona. It's like the track Knocking on heaven's door by GNR. It's completely different but guns and roses are showing homage to these guys IMO. I would be telling a lot if I said I like the originals better than the guns n' roses. But I have to give the people that wrote the lyrics and the music the most respect for the tracks. Guns and roses just took it up a few notches. Didn't GNR copy or cover another track from the 70s by either rock solo artist or band? Feels like it was a track by them but IDK. Can you guys let me know if guns and roses covered any other tracks that these artists before them had written lyrics and music for and the first place? Last thing I want to tap on would be guns and roses have a trilogy on one of the use your illusion, or maybe both. Guns and roses junkies maybe noticed what I'm about to say. On that trilogy or the three tracks that are supposed to be connected as a story, can you hear the inspiration from those late '60s and early seventies tracks like live and let die and blowing in the wind or even Knocking on heaven's door? Can you hear the influence on Don't You cry? November rain? If we just take slashes extraordinary guitar solo out and mellow it down a bit, it could easily sound like something out of the '70s to me. Did you guys catch any of this. I just want to make sure I'm not some crazy 21-year-old. Sorry so long but I'm on a break from my job and I had to use speech to text. You guys help me out here if you're true Long Time Rock fans on some of the questions I got please. I can't offer you anything other than a thank you ahead of time

Much encouragement to you, as you find the places that the old music can take you. BTW, Paul just finished his latest tour. He is 80 years old now, with a legacy that will last. The other living Beatle, drummer Ringo Starr, teams up with other famous musicians, and has a grand old time touring with his All Starr Band. Have fun on your path!

"Is he a legend?" Yes, Paul is the ultimate legend. He was a Beatle.
The producer was George Martin, the legendary producer of The Beatles; he did the arrangement for the orchestra. But that is a real band with orchestra on this track.
There is a reggae section in the middle, b/c Paul loves reggae and the James Bond movie he wrote it for, Live and Let Die, was set in Jamaica.

Yes George Martin he was a very very important part of Beatles in fact he was the fifth Beatle without George Martin the Beatles would’ve been the Beatles George Martin goes way back to the beginning of way back to the 50s to the beginning of the BBC he produced all kinds of bands such as legitimate bands that played orchestral music and horns and everything and he produced the gun shows and George Martin did everything and the Beatles came upon George Martin and George Martin introduced the Beatles onto a whole new different era and they started in their psychedelic. And they went on and when they broke up Paul McCartney George Harrison John Lennon Ringo start with their separate paths and they all kept their professional musician ship together

@@stevensprunger3422 "gun shows" ?? WHAT is THAT? I know a lot about the Beatles and George Martin....WHY would George have anything to do with guns?? The Beatles didn't come upon George Martin. George Martin came upon them when Brian Epstein, their manager was trying to get them a recording contract. After so many rejections from many record labels, he went to EMI and they weren't too interested and sent him to their "minor" subsidiary label Parlophone....which George Martin was a producer for. Keep in mind that the Beatles themselves has a LOT of IDEAS about how to do their songs, ones that George Martin often didn't come up with himself. BUT he would help them bring some of these ideas to fruition if they couldn't do it totally on their own. He truly IS the ONE and ONLY person that DESERVES the title of "the FIFTH BEATLE."

Yes, this was a song by former Beatle Paul McCartney. He was asked to write and record the theme song for the James Bond film of the same name in 1973. Guns N' Roses' version of McCartney's song was actually released 18 years later in 1991. I'm not a fan of GnR, but that's the one track of theirs that I can listen to and enjoy, and that says a lot about this song itself.

YES, with flashpots, fire, flares, lasers , AND if it's an outside venue, they add FIREWORKS. The "bomb" flashpots that go off at the front of the stage after he sings "say LIVE AND LET DIE" and the orchestra goes "BOM BOM" that's when they set them off. If you are in the front row it will scare the hell out of you if you aren't expecting it. PAUL had DONE LIVE AN LET DIE in EVERY CONCERT tour he has played since 1976 til the GLASTONBURY festival in England, which was on June 25th this year (2022) and he just turned 80 years old on June 18th. The crowd there started singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to him. Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl (from the FOO FIGHTERS) joined Paul onstage for 2 songs each with him. I just received that entire concert on DVD yesterday and watched it today. It was FANTASTIC!!
