Following the announcement that will release their new and seventh album Through Shaded Woods, through Kscope on 13th November; the band have premiered “The Passage”, the first single and video to be taken from the forthcoming album.
Of the new track Mariusz Duda comments "’The Passage’ is a signature piece of the new Lunatic Soul album, on which we enter a mysterious forest full of dynamic, ritual dances. The title "passage" is the destination for the main character, where he is to be cleansed and reborn. "Shaded Woods" are our worst traumas and nightmares, the most difficult moments in our life. Going through them symbolises facing and overcoming them. "Through Shaded Woods" is about reaching a better place in life, about giving yourself another chance.
"Shaded Woods" is also symbolic of our present, difficult times. Let us hope that at the end of this dangerous path we are on, we will have become richer in new experiences, wiser and much stronger, which is my wish for everyone. May this song, as well as the whole album, be like a torch, which not only makes the darkness disappear, but might come in handy when fighting monsters.”

This "who's the best" thing is just completly annoying. Let both of them write their goddamn music, the way they want. They don't owe anything to anybody and they surely don't think of what the other writes to write their own stuff.
@@marc-andremorency9903 Filling the void and having his own identity aren't mutually exclusive. I love everything MD has ever done and have to say, Riverside are one ot their kind, literally. What i meant by filling the void is when i miss the good old PTree, a new song from these guys gives me chills. there are only a handful musicians who can write as good as porcupine tree. MD is one of them

Well, Love Fear and the Time Machine album wasn't heavy also, it doesn't mean I liked the last album but what the hell
It would be amazing to see a return to the style of say Second Life Syndrome or ADHD especially with more of a metal edge! But part of what is great with Riverside is not matter what they do, they will do it in a classy and fresh way!
This whole album helped me out of a dark time a few years ago! I wish I could share this entire piece of art with every human being on the planet, there is a magic and vibration to these songs, you can tell it was channeled out of pure passion and love. Thank you for helping me heal with your music Lunatic Soul, and helping me find The Passage, back to the Light❤️
Every album is similar but totally different. My music library was blessed when I added this fantastic artist to my collection

I have got everything from Riverside to date, got his entire lockdown trilogy, got all Lunatic Soul to date. Love them all. This one trumps them all, in my humble, audio equivalent of Dolina Issy and Prawiek. This man is a marvel.
I'm a bit concerned with just how much I've listened to this song in the last few days alone. It's so. damn. good.

Less than a month ago, I had only heard of Riverside as a long time customer of Burning Shed, buying much of my Steven Wilson, PT, & The Pineapple Thief music from them.
Finally; I got curious to find out about Riverside. Wow!! Now; I have all the Lunatic Soul CD's incoming along with the rest of the Riverside albums that I haven't already received in the past few weeks!
The way his voice sounds is able to lift any song he sings on to a higher level. Distinctive and always a joy to listen to...
It was his voice that first drew me to listen to Riverside and then to Lunatic Soul. Such a great voice to accompany great music.
How awesome would it be to see a half Riverside half Lunatic Soul show. Alll the jeans creamed.

He actually kinda did. The song "Forgotten Land" was the official promo song for The Witcher 2.
Best way to end my week. After receiving news that my Grandmother just tested positive for COVID on top of my wife entering the final days of the pregnancy, I needed an outlet...some resonating force...I needed to have something to make sense of both a catastrophe and a blessing occuring around the same time. Lo and behold, it was Duda's medicine. It doesn't change things with my Grandmother, but this song is the jam I need to get in my thoughts to try and make sense of the absurdity of life right now.
You should listen to The Mountain by Jonathan Húlten too. Or Dance in the Road or The Call to Adventure, or all of Chants From Another Place. It's so good I bought the vinyl and I don't have a turntable.

The middle portion to the end of this song reminds me a lot of Indukti. I wish that band was back together. Mariusz did a great job on vocals on S.U.S.A.R. and Idmen blew me away.

I absolutely loved Fractured, but it's also really nice hearing this more hypnotic and trancy side of Lunatic Soul again. I know for sure I'll be listening to this track A LOT the next months. Really looking forward to the album release! I wish I could show this track to my father. He would have loved it too.

Whole album rocks! Now that I have listened to both discs, I can safely say it is LS:s best work.
