I loved this song so much, I started recreating the drum parts in Ableton Live, even though I'm not a drummer. I just realized it was Gavin Harrison after your comment. I didn't even know it was him and I love his writing so much.
I'm drumming since I'm eight years old - today, I'm 38. Yes, from my point of view, Harrison is the most creative drummer, I've ever heard. But I cannot get those comments anymore. The Pineapple thief is a band, not "only" the best drummer. The are performing so great music. I heard them last year live, it was incredible. Their songs are so deep. Also the old albums like Someone Here Is Missing or 8 years later are incredible. The pineapple thief is not only Gavin Harrison, but so many people reduce them to this one, phantastic, guy. The pineapple thief are four phantastic guys. The music is so creative, the sound is perfect, nothing is left to chance.
@@l3mp3 because those comments are true. He has a gift to pull out the best out of other musicians. I mean C'mon just listen to PT or PAT without Gavin...not the same is it? That's why you can have mediocre band and be mediocre, but if you got killer drummer the whole band changes
BRAVI
3:50 is when brilliance comes in. 7/8 perfectly set up before. This is the definition of perfection for me: good to listen but not too simple.with meaning and connected to the rest. Pure awe
Gavin has definitely added that xtra dimension to PT. But my God the production on this one is just amazing. The entire team right down to mastering has done an amazing job. This is the album of the year in its genre for me
This is my favorite song in Dissolution along "All That You've Got" and "White Mist". E this video reminds me so much of "Routine" from Steven Wilson. What a great song and video!
has the great vibe to it; perfectly recorded and exactly type of music I need. It doesn't want to be cunning, shocking - it sounds like it should. Exactly like it should. thank you
the well constructed music score and the lyrics sort of match my present state of mind... along with the video... thats why i live here alone in tasmania.... thanks for uploading
They are from the same vein! And in this pineapple thief lineup they are starring Porcupine Tree's Gavin Harrison on the drums, and he definitely gives his own vibe to anything he touches. You have a good ear to be able to catch it! :D

Superb album from TPT. Bruce Soord's songwriting reaches new heights with each new release. I have a suggestion for KScope - all new vinyl releases should be half speed mastered - worth every penny.
Pablo Torres 2 h · Es imposible omitir a este sesionista de excelso nivel como lo es Gavin Harrison, y lo que fue para Pineapple thief en el Dissolution.
Stop talking about drums! You have another space for that. This music video is just breathtaking It perfectly fits to the song, and I also love the camera work, the montage oahhh! Everything is just like: why the hell am I crying? I think this will be a bit harder to listen this song after that ._. I just found this note by vocalist and guitarist: “When I wrote the words for Threatening War, I had in my mind the journey from despair to hope, and how we need a physical connection with people in our lives to complete that journey, if and when it happens. When I saw how Blacktide had tackled this visually, it really hit home in a way I wasn’t quite prepared for. It captures the emotion of the song perfectly.”
Went to see their live gig in Florence last week. Great band and very nice live performance. Obviously Gavin Harrison is going to give them both a musicality and popularity boost but I do not want to diminish the work of Bruce Soord and PThief
I really slept on this album, but thank God I checked it out. The album is GREAT. LOVE this song Only wish the production was a bit beefier so that the aggressive sections had more bite
I was so disappointed by the breakup of Porcupine Tree. Well, Pineapple Thief steps right in and steals the show, with Gavin Harrison. That man is beyond insanely good.
@@vibra90positiva Porcupine Tree in general were better than his solo work, especially the new album which I find dreadful- apart from a couple of tracks, too arty farty
I love the tune. I'm not sure I get the video. Is it from a movie? Is it specifically filmed FOR this tune? I'd love to know the "premise" behind the video and how it relates to the song....
The lyrics of every song of the album "Your Wilderness" seem to refer on real life events and maybe on the same story. This album is really sentimental. I think this song from "Dissolution" has something to do with the story of "Your Wilderness". Maybe the whole "Dissolution" is a sequel. I am really curious in finding the story behind "Your Wilderness" ...but unfortunately there's nothing on the internet. In addition, this song has a common element with "Your Wilderness", which is the "Sea" and whatever has something to do with the sea.
Bruce talked about how Your Wilderness is a concept album about a child running away from home (after irreconcilable differences) and dealing with the griefs of that. To me, it's narrated from both the parent's as well as the child's perspectives. Dissolution on the other hand, is an album about a shift towards social media and the loneliness that arises from that.
sad that so many mention the drummer and not the music.....ok , I sorta jest, I came here for Gavin too, but stayed for the music. Something about melancholy British prog-rock stirs my soul, even if the drumming was that of a simpleton, but it's not so all the better right?
What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

My favourite song from this album.
Arrangement and production are flawless! Such a powerful song!
Música que conecta las emociones, un equilibrio entre técnica y arte.
Gavin Harrison is the modern king Midas. Every song he plays turns into pure gold.
Gavin doesn't touch songs, he caresses them.

Trick question. Both.

What a wonderful drumming!
