I believe that is some of the most beautiful wood I have ever seen. What is it? The simple shape of the bowl works wonderfully to highlight the grain. Great job!
It is yew. The leaves seeds and bark are indeed toxic less so the timber. This approach to Yew Seems to imply that yew alone is dangerous to work with. It is no more dangerous that all woods which should under no circumstances be inhaled. As long as you always use lung protection you can treat it the same as any wood species.
Very, very nice! Beautiful bowl! Красиввй рисунок дерева.
I love the more natural finish it beats the high gloss nearly every time.
I agree. You’ll only ever see nice simple oil finishes on this channel 👍🏻
❤❤Spectacular ❤❤

Looks like Yew to me - if it is you have to be really careful cutting it because it is quite toxic if inhaled or ingested

This is very beautiful Yew from a very large very old tree
Amazing piece. Is that Yew?
It certainly is
Where did you get such a wonderful piece of wood form ???? And can I order a piece from the UK ???
I have lots of it. If you send me a private message on Facebook or instagram I’d be happy to set you up with a blank or two.
How much has it warped since you finished it?
Very very little, certainly not a noticeable amount, thanks no doubt to the twisted grain.
Nice choice of wood on this project. What species is this wood?
This is a piece of yew from a very large very old tree
