Mum shows me her amazing recipe and techniques for cooking the best Kam Heong Yoke (甘香肉).
Auntie Ah Choon is a self taught chef who for about 20+ years ran a successful Economy Rice Restaurant, Restoran Jia Ling in Skudai, Johor. With no real formal training in the culinary arts, everything she knows about cooking comes from a life time of pure experience, observation and self improvement. She has spent time a great portion of her life cooking in both Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Ask any of her former customers, they'll happily testify just how amazing her food is and how efficient she is when it comes to being in the kitchen.

Mom is very innovative in her cooking. Is she originally from Singapore? Her mandarin dun hv a Malaysian accent. Is she a Teochew her mandarin seems to hv a Teochew accent.😅
My Mum is originally from Johor, but she spent quite a lot of time in Singapore at one point, hence the SG type of sound 😁
So she is now in spore or Malaysia ?
Malaysia, she moved back here like almost 30yrs ago and started her own restaurant. Now retired already. So I proposed the idea of making these videos to her so her knowledgeable won't be lost in the future 😊
