Great recipe ! Thanks for sharing. Here's a tip for everyone: if you love a frothy drink but don't have a fancy milk frother, pour the golden milk into a Mason jar, put the lid on and shake it up. You will get a beautifully foamy beverage this way
Having fibromyalgia when I first found the recipe for Golden milk and it's benefits I made it that very night and I can honestly say it really helps. I slept better the first night and not as much pain the next day. It has an amazing taste (though I've used coconut oil) that's rich. I like to keep my cup pretty warm as the taste changes as it cools, but don't let that keep you from drinking it. Also I want to mention That a friend's hands were swollen from arthritis so much he could barely bend his fingers. That night he drank 2 cups of Golden milk before bed and woke the next morning with no swelling no stiffness and hardly any pain! 🧡😊
You can cook with Turmeric as well! I’m Persian and we’ve been using this amazing Indian herb in our cooking and in other forms for hundreds of years if not longer! Use and enjoy it in good health.
I loved my turmeric latte too:) I grind first everything in my vitamix use coconut oil instead butter, coconut sugar instead of honey, black pepper, cinnamon, fresh ginger, turmeric and pour my hot almond milk in it and run few seconds again. Sooo yummy!
I just made paste turmeric, i warmed milk added paste cinnamon black pepper and 1 square 90% cocoa after melted I added raw honey it was delicious try it.
Yes, I use paste turmeric, and whole ginger and the other ingredients and just blend it. Instead of honey, I use pineapple or melon for sweetness. My husband prefers it cold from the fridge.
For your consideration, because turmeric is fat soluble, it is better to start first by melting some butter then adding turmeric and the rest of ingredients. Last year, I reversed (eliminated) my pre diabetic by drinking this golden milk every night for about 4 weeks.
This recipe is used in traditional Indian medicine. It's especially good for those days where you feel a cold/flu coming on but you still need to get things done at work or around the home.
Just saw this, I have arthritis and am looking for ways to reduce the inflammation and pain. Being doing a bit of a fast for a few days. Working on a healthier diet. I just made this drink. And let me say, it's so so good. I will be using this drink for a very long time, Thank you so much for your wonderful recipes.

Hi Robin, I just made this recipe and it was amazing! I loved your cinnamon addition. I have made a slightly different variant in the past by adding in some nut butter, and vanilla essence. I also make a slightly different golden turmeric paste for my dog that has arthritis. It is turmeric powder, water, coconut oil and freshly ground pepper, and I occasionally add ginger if I have fresh; and I have been able to keep him limp free and off western medication.
I enjoy golden milk many different ways. A cinnamon stick works too just fish it out along with the ginger after steeping. In the summer months I leave the ginger out because it's a warming spice. If you like cocoa or Cardamom, they also work well in golden milk.
I love this, I also make Turmeric coffee, a recipe I got from a Nutritionist...instead of milk use 2 cups hot coffee and put all ingredients in the blender. So yummy. May I make a suggestion Robin that you show the recipe with ingredients below your videos or even a picture at the end of your video we can pause and refer to when making. This sounds absolutely delicious, and I’m go into try it tonight . Just a suggestion; if you use whole milk vs almond or other non fat types , you will not need to add the butter for the fat. It is important that turmeric is taken with some form of fat for absorption. Hi, Robin! I’m drinking my first Golden Milk! Of course I went over board on the amounts of Tumeric & Pepper. I figured I’d gain all the benefits in one cup! I wound up using one teaspoon of honey, the pepper still burned so I used some real maple syrup, a lot of cinnamon, fresh ginger & Tumeric. I want to do this everyday. I put the sweetener when it was drinking temp. Thanks so much!
@@beautifulblesseddestinywin5995 Both honey and maple syrup have minerals, Not just empty calories. If a person has high blood sugar, they'll know what to do, what they can and cannot have.
Just found your website and recipes and plan on looking at many of them and of course trying them out. Thanks for the great work. Suggestion : replace the butter with 3 tablespoons of rough or finely ground flax seed. That will give you lots of omega 3 fatty acids as well. Butter, even from grass fed cows still ends up being a barbaric food and is totally avoidable. Also replace the honey with "whole plant based food" dates ground to a fine powder, called "Date Sugar". Do not add too much Date Sugar as it tends to thicken the liquid. Furthermore the date sugar gives you lots of antioxidants. A win-win.
This is a great recipe. I see all kinds of fat and spice variations here (of course always with turmeric). My Father is 76 years old and always has a small glass of milk before bed...has his whole life and he swears by it. I am going to show him this and see what he thinks.....Thanks Robin.
I tried your recipe except I added a few chocolate chips and butterscotch chips melted in butter before adding the banana flavored almond milk and it tasted like a liquid version of a gingerbread cookie ☺️! Loved it!!

Wow so delicious. Drinking mine now to see if it helps soothe this terrible sore throat I have. I used raw milk. No need for butter if you use regular milk. I definitely will be drinking this more often
@@RockinRobinCooks yes I’m feeling better. After two days my throat was better. I attribute it to this drink and gargling with warm salt water. Thank you.
@@twin86040317 i think so you should use butter because research shows it helps in bioavalibility of turmeric components that help in reducing inflammation and add it in the beginning so it gets enough time to dissolve fat soluble components of turmeric ... a lot of turmeric substances are metabolized by intestine wall which is interfered by pepper to enhance in blood availability which may be bad idea if your bad throat was because of intestine issues ... so i think one should try without butter and pepper to see if it works better for throat ... for swelling in body use with butter and pepper

Hey everyone, Just wanted to pass on some information I received from a senior Italian citizen that I had bumped into. He has a Honey shop in the city of Bassano del Grappa, Italia, I'm a US service member stationed here. He has been in the Honey business for over 55 years, its passed through the family. He has all kinds of Honey and they come with different colors to, it depends on altitude and what things the bees are consuming that gives its color and consistency. Well in regards to heating Honey, he had told me when ever you add honey to a drink or anything you should never add when it is hot. Only add when its warm because you lose the nutritional value of the honey. But the hole thing about honey becoming toxic if you heat it is absolutely false.
This was great. I didn’t have ginger on hand, and held off on the butter since I have hyperlipidemia, but I used full fat cows milk, so that’ll be enough for me I think. Made one for my mom too and she loved it as well
Hello, This sounds and looks great. Do you think ginger power would be a good substitute for fresh ginger? At this time, it is very difficult to find fresh ginger in the supermarkets or health food stores. Thank you. 😊
Elizabeth Kyrou you can find fresh ginger in most of Asian spmkt I hope you have in your town, Tip, if you find some fresh ginger get extra pack and wash it slice it thinly put in the freezer it’ll last you for some time.
This is great! I'm going to try it. Questions: (1) Can you heat it to boiling point? (2) Should honey/maple syrup be added only when it's warm? No butter for us (on plant-based diet).
Do not bring it to a rolling boil, just a simmer is good. Add honey when it cools off or you will destroy the benefits of the honey with the heat. Coconut oil works as a sub for the butter. Fat aids in the absorption of the turmeric.
Great recipe ! Thanks for sharing.

My boss told me about it, I used it and it kept me healthy though cedar season. Best stuff ever
I just finished a mug of this awesome drink. I currently have a cold. And drinking golden milk helps my sinuses clear out and cough is gone. I love this drink.
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
i like this stuff.. took me a bit to get use to the tatse but Im feeling good inside. I always felt like heck all the time..
Thank you for sharing. I have been using a turmeric drink to lose belly fat and it works fantastic. I'm watching from Canada and as winter is on the way I thought this would make a lovely afternoon tea.😊❤
I mix tumeric and honey and black pepper together and have teaspoon in my black coffee in the morning taste fantastic..
i just made this drink after watching your video and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much. The only difference i made was replacing the butter with coconut oil because i eat vegan, and i didn't add honey, but it was AMAZING. Thank you !!!!!!!
Coconut oil works as you found out! Thanks for getting back to me.
OMGoodness. Made this last night for first time. Not sure what to expect. I totally loved it!! Every sip. Slept really well. Can’t wait to have another tonight👍
Being of Indian background,we drank turmeric ginger drink for feminine probs,my mom cooked all dry ingredients in ghee or butter, then added the milk,it tasted yum yum.

Oh good Lord All Mighty....just made this, and it's ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Thank you so much for sharing.
That's awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
Hi! Robin. I made some Turmeric just now. Wow! I do have. Health issues especially. Rsl syndrome trouble falling asleep at night. I take med's at night. And I love the way it soothes me to sleep. I appreciate. You sharing your wonderful recipe. Look foward to your Video show and tell. Thanks!
I'm glad you mentioned adding black pepper to increase absorption because I couldn't fathom adding black pepper to a milky drink.
Nor me......yuk !
3:50am making some right now!
Thanks!
God bless!!!
Hope you enjoyed the golden milk! Thanks for watching!
@@RockinRobinCooks very good, thank you!
Thank you Rockin Robin! I'm enjoying your recipes and feeling healthier. Your awesome!
I use Almond milk turmeric cinnamon black pepper and half a pack of prince of peace ginger honey crystals. Deliciousness 😋 got to add some grass fed butter.
Thank you SO much for this recipe. My husband is very sick with a cold and this really helped him with his cough.
Glad to hear it helped your husband. Hope he feels better soon.
@RockinRobinCooks I've been drinking it nightly, and it seems to be helping my back pain. So, thank you again. Great work you do for the community.
in Desi culture we drink lasi(yogurt drink or buttermilk) with haldi(tumeric) when we have tummy troubles. in Egypt we have fenugreek powder we make a drink out of in the winter
Thank you for sharing that! I'm really enjoying this drink and hope you will too!
Like keifer?
I've been making this my own way for a while. I sleep like I took a pill. I dream vividly which isn't typical for me. I make mine with coconut milk, sweetener Monk fruit powder, I too add cinnamon. Tonight after your video I added ground ginger. Today is my fourth day fasting. This is my evening treat!!!! Nice to meet you!
Nice to meet you too Betina! Glad you are enjoying this recipe!
@@RockinRobinCooks today I used Goat Milk powder and my frother, crazy yium!
Delicious...I added dark chocolate(73%) instead of butter and honey...it too has inflammatory qualities and tastes supercalafragalisticexpialadosish
Thanks will try this as I love dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate is high in iron so that's good
Huh, that's interesting, @@vtecnegro85, though, wouldn't the caffeine in the chocolate inhibit the absorption of most of the iron?
So is the dark chocolate considered a fat? Because of the butter or coconut oil or milk which are fats. They help the Tumeric absorbed in your body.
What is Supercalafraga?
I love it I used the ones growing in my yard , milk ginger and tumeric .thanks I never put pepper or sweetener thanks.
Thanks for the recipe doc.i should have tried it earlier to help me get some sleep.you know more than a lot of these doctors and that makes you my doc.
I just prepared this and it was delicious, instead of butter i used peanut butter 😍
What an excellent idea. I didn't like the idea of adding real butter, but I'm going to try it with peanut butter or almond butter. Thanks.
OMG peanut butter is a great idea!
Sagisli real butter (grass fed, organic) is actually extremely healthy and good way of getting vita k2!
I added cocnut oil instead of butter.
@@magicalsimmy not really for people suffering arthritis, it is a no, no. I will try dark chocolate instead of butter.
Hi, I think its not safe to drink this everyday. 2 or 3 times a week is fine. An adult should not consume more than half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day.
Maple Syrup has only bad benefits, as it increases insulin resistance. Be sure to look for another alternative.
@@beautifulblesseddestinywin5995
Both honey and maple syrup have minerals, Not just empty calories.
A win-win.
🤡
I had a stomach ache then saw your channel. I said what the heck. Wow! So soothing and it worked for that! Thanks!
I'm soooooooo glad she mentioned pepper. Because without it you are wasting turmeric.
This is a great recipe. I see all kinds of fat and spice variations here (of course always with turmeric). My Father is 76 years old and always has a small glass of milk before bed...has his whole life and he swears by it. I am going to show him this and see what he thinks.....Thanks Robin.
What did he think about it?
I tried your recipe except I added a few chocolate chips and butterscotch chips melted in butter before adding the banana flavored almond milk and it tasted like a liquid version of a gingerbread cookie ☺️! Loved it!!
Wow, what an interesting variation! You are very creative. Glad you enjoyed it. Good job!
Rockin Robin Cooks thanks! I had it again for breakfast today and I added a bit more chocolate and butterscotch and spices. It’s fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
This is the best recipe I've found for Golden milk. I enjoy it so much, Thanks! (Note: I use pea plant milk, Stoub, and it turns out the best then).
thank you for the recipe, its new to me to add ginger, cinanamom, etc.

Thank you so much for sharing. I just ran to kitchen to make one before bed and it is soooooo delish. I'm hoping this will help with a few issues I've been having.
You are welcome Debe! I hope it helps you out!
Just a suggestion. I think the materials should be added when it has started to boil. Makes the flavour come out of the spices well.
I was thinking the same....
I love my golden milk! I also like adding a pinch of ground cloves and nutmeg! So good!
Thanks for stopping in!
sounds good
Wow so delicious. Drinking mine now to see if it helps soothe this terrible sore throat I have. I used raw milk. No need for butter if you use regular milk. I definitely will be drinking this more often
Hope you are feeling better Stacy. Glad you enjoyed the golden milk!
I have a glass of golden milk every night before bed. And I have my late mum to thank for it. Thank you for sharing this. Golden milk is awesome.
This is good and I will try this. Stay away from cows milk. Use almond or coconut milk. I would not add butter
I would not add butter at all. Not good for those who suffer with reflux! Maybe some Udos oil.
turmeric is fat soluble, you need fat for any sort of efficient absorption - she suggested coconut or olive oil as an alternative
Not like the coconut milk in the US is real
butter and/or coconut oil are added for the delivery system...just like the black pepper...gives you the most absorbtion of what you're consuming.
I love organic pasture raised, grass fed butter. It's the best for me.
What a beautiful person this lady is.
That drink sounds energetic, i can’t imagine that it can helps to sleep!
Well it does, specially if you have a very active day.
im also using turmeric since i diagnosed breast cancer its help a lot ...

Hi Robin. Thanks for your sharing your recipie, I really appreciate it. Something that you may already know but I'd like to share is that ghee instead of regular butter will enhance this lovely drink even more. Ghee is shown to heal the internal skin and we even make ghee in our gut! Who knew?? Thanks again for your video.
Thanks Lore, I will check ghee out! Thanks for stopping in!
Hi this is Ava from California. I have a question do u have to do this yummy golden turmeric everyday?
Please also try water soluble Hemp Extract. Works great for me.
In my country we use tumeric in rice with ginger in it :)
Hi. I made a paste with turmeric, black pepper and olive oil. At night I mix one teaspoon of the paste in milk and heat it up.
Going to try it with ginger and dark chocolate.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to pass on some information I received from a senior Italian citizen that I had bumped into.
Thanks for sharing that information. Very informative.
Wake up America Very interesting
Thank you for your service ❤️ and for this info. I've always waited to add honey til only warm in any/all recipes and have never know why. Lol

you are most welcome dear
Great! I loved the recipe.
Also many helpful foods and herbs thin the blood a little. We mix them a lot so compounded that is important to know.
❤
This was great. I didn’t have ginger on hand, and held off on the butter since I have hyperlipidemia, but I used full fat cows milk, so that’ll be enough for me I think. Made one for my mom too and she loved it as well
Great to hear you and your mom enjoyed this golden milk! Thanks for letting me know.
@@RockinRobinCooks I have high cholesterol so I can't use butter or coconut oil. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
@@christinechen903 you should be able to use the coconut oil.
I just had a cup of golden milk. I sweetened it with monk fruit sweetener. Very tasty!
I put the turmeric in my coffee and sometimes green tea for pain but I didnt know it was anti inflammatory thank you for sharing this.
You are very welcome!
