A very good option for someone who doesn't have much money or want something cheap and reliable. A very good car,and the 2.0 HDi it's one the best diesel engines i ever seen. I have a friend with a fleet of taxis, they're all Skoda Superb, but he keeps is old Peugeot 406 2.0 HDi,and he only drives one of the Skoda if he really needs. His Peugeot has now 1.400.000 kms and still running like new. Thanks to his 406 now he's having a fleet of 6 Skoda, one Fiat Talento and one Mercedes V-Class.
Thanks for starting it, almost 500,000km, incredible, and it runs like a clock. On top of that, with Siemens injection, the best that could have been mounted on the RHY. As a curiosity, the Xsara phase II is assembled in Spain, Villaverde.
Weird, in my country, these old citroens are known to be insanely unreliable and have a bunch of electrical issues! Edit: Along with suspension problems from the rough road
@@g.espichan What a coincidence! I hope one day to be able to visit the factories, because they were owned by Barreiros Diesel, and were very important for the Spanish automotive industry.

It's so amazing on what you find and no matter what condition of the vehicle is you always get it running and driving again... keep up the great work your doing mate...👍👍
One good thing about french cars besides their diesel engines is their steel quality. This has hardly any rust in it, front fenders are easy to just swap into fresh ones. Get any german, italian or japanese car from same period, that has been standing in the bushes for couple years, and they usually have rotted like crazy.
@@SrKevinWolf90 Worst rotters I've seen so far have always been italian cars and Fords. I recall that first gen Focus was so bad that they replaced doors for it during warrantly, because they rusted through in like 2-3 years.
Sitting here with my damn-near 25 y/o Renault Laguna, and its only now started to develop the tiniest bits of rust because I stupidly drove it through the last winter. Will be safely tucked away in a garage this year 😂
Well done Flexiny. My mistake, was loads of Xsaras in the UK one time, but I dont ever recall this model/shape. I was thinking of the other model, the Xantia, which was the successor of the BX model. The 1.9D, used in so many older models, must've been there best engine ever. 🤔👍🇬🇧💯✔
About the moment the diesel pipe jumps, these cars with Siemens injection pump work by suction, the diesel filter housing does not have any overpressure valve, when applying pressure, the pump does not have time to lower the pressure, and ends up jumping the weakest pipe, which was the pipe you connected, the Xsaras with Bosch injection do have a relief valve in the diesel filter housing, but the Siemens do not.

@@SrKevinWolf90 1 of them was for regeneration, it was difficult to start in winter the first time (cranking for about 5 sec), it burned more by about 0.3-0.5 l 100 km. I added a cleaning additive and it helped for about 3 months
