Always learn something new,. Flatten cardboard, brilliant. Fascinated with all the inking, next on my list try. My list is getting longer, so much to try. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I too love your Grunge Journal and the way you put things together. Looking forward to part 3. Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing your ideas. Greetings from Germany, Gabi 🙋🏻
Nice job. The tags turned out very well and are most interesting. I think the tag that you cut and added fabric strips to is a very clever idea. Carol from California
Yes, gesso is wonderful stuff!! I love these tags. Like how you put corrugated cardboard thru to flatten it. Genius! I DID gasp just a little when you cut tag in two! But then I knew you would hinge it. But I liked how you put it in as a page afterwards. Great idea to keep it thinner in journal. I learned a lot from this video. Thx for video. Austin,TX USA
Hi Tracie, I just adore watching over your shoulder, while you work. SO many amazing, fun ideas! PS. I for one, like the way your nails look now ;) Now...back to the video.
Wow, loving your grunge style. I too would never have thought to put the cardboard through my diecut machine. I'll have to remember that little tip! TFS xxxx
I absolutely LOVE what you did with the corrugated cardboard! I do assemblage art as well as JJ and use it all the time there. I've tried to use but it in JJing but couldn't make it work cuz it was too bulky... never in a million years did it occur to me to flatten it like that. It happens that one of the things I'm working on now is a grungy journal for myself... I will take detailed notes of what you've done here so I can create the [essentially] same thing. Thanks again! Smiles from the Southern California desert, MK 😁❤🏜
I love this look. Very artistic journal. It reminds me of some of the grungey collage work that Tiff on Southern Gal designs does. I hope to achieve this style someday.
Oh my gosh, what a neat idea to cardboard!!!!!! Tracied, couldn't you put a few teeny tiny drops of clue on the frabric strips and the paper behind them to help hold them in place before you sew in the signature? Just an idea!!!!! The journal is going to be wonderful!!!!!!!
Wow! I am SO not in your league. I absolutely love your style of art but I sit here thinking I would never be able to even think of those techniques let alone make them. But thank heavens for being able to watch you do it and to purchase your digis in this wonderful style. Thanks Tracie for keeping us inspired. ❤️🥰
Love what you have done with the cardboard scraps 😍I've been playing with my cardboard scraps too but never thought to put them through my Big Shot to flatteren them, great idea Tracie 😍 TFS xxx
Wow! I love how you cut the tag and joined it together with the fabric snippets. I know what you mean about the greys, I have a bottle of chinese black writing ink and the greys you get with it are fantastic. Really looking forward to part 3 😀💖
Ohhh Tracie… I love this journal sooo much!!! I have a love of using ink. It isn’t something I’ve played with on camera, but behind-the-scenes. I was thinking of sharing a little of what I’ve been doing shortly as there is so much more fun to be had with it for me lol. I love that I’ve found someone who appreciates it and it’s abilities as much as I do!!! Cannot wait to see what you do next!!! No… seriously… I don’t want to wait hahaha. When are you uploading the next video? Just messing… I’ll be patient (insert me tapping my fingers… waiting). Hahaha. TFS!!! Big hugs, Sharon 🌷💕
I really love everything of this journal Tracie. Especially the work you do with the black ink. What kind of ink is this? Can you tell me? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, Which grey tones...I have used Calligraphy ink and also TH black Soot and also Stabilo All Black. With water they all make grey tones. Hope this helps hun x
@@TracieFoxCreative Thanks Tracie, sorry didn't explain myself very well! The calligraphy ink I have tends to go more blue tones, maybe I need to try the black soot and Stabilo. x
@@elainemoody4690 You might be using Quink. Try an indian ink maybe. All inks are not the same and they will all leave different tones when wet, hence the blue which you do get more with Quink, browns sometimes too. You can try 10 different inks and you may well get 10 different pages :-D xx
Its calligraphy ink...I have a couple so not sure which one was in there at the time but they both move in a similar way... xx I LOVE quink as you get more colours when you add water but I wanted this to stay shades of grey x
Does anyone else wonder about the people, whose photos get used nowadays as art ephemera, and what they would think about that? I didn't want any of my relations used that way so have already burnt all their photos. There's no one to pass them on to anyway.
I have to ask you - When you are watching videos on TH-cam of other creators do you ever shout "Don't do that!" when you're certain anything more will only ruin the perfection of what has already been done? Darn you. I've started to shout that at you and yet you go right ahead and ignore my input. :-) I need to take a deep breath and just go with the flow.
"If in doubt, get the gesso out". Words to live by ;)
You know it!
Wonderfully grungy and flattened cardboard.....perfect! :D
I like these sort of projects where you just have fun creating, not too much over thinking, just have fun ❤️
You are a real treat to watch - love the way you put mediums together & they look awesome - thank you for sharing your wonderful work .

Never would of thought to flatten bulky cardboard with a die cut / embossing machine, thanks for that inspirational snippet 💕
I love this look. Very artistic journal. It reminds me of some of the grungey collage work that Tiff on Southern Gal designs does. I hope to achieve this style someday.

More amazing tips! I’ve always used a rolling pin to flatten cardboard. Such a good idea to press with the die cut machine.
Those tags turned out gorgeous! Love this journal.

Great idea to die press the corrugated card, thank you.

Thanks Tracie for your reply. I have all of them so will play around. Will see if I can get 50 shades of Grey. lol
Have fun!
You have shown me how to loosen up when making grunge pieces. I love grunge but I get so “hung up” trying to loosen my embellishments. Beautiful!
You can do it!
😍
I really love everything of this journal Tracie. Especially the work you do with the black ink. What kind of ink is this? Can you tell me? Thanks in advance.
Its calligraphy ink x
@@TracieFoxCreative Thank you Tracie. I'll go and look for it. I think it would be nice to work with such a small top on the bottle.
Hi Tracie so loving this, can you tell me please what ink do you use to get the lovely grey tones? :) xx

Are people going crazy and buying all the bath tissue and food too?
Not yet! lol x
