The cave bear could potentially lead to having a Short faced bear somewhere in the far future. I could definitely see them use the model animation of the cave bear and repurpose it. Similarly with the smilodon and cave lion

It only makes sense that Megaloceros would be the second mammal. Both are of the Ice Age. And speaking of animals from the art book, it also means we should be getting Allosaurus and Stegosaurus in the near future.

I'm afraid not very many Pre-Pleistocene mammals are planned before full release. The only one we are probably getting is a Cenozoic subaquatic (most people guess Ambulocetus)

Giant sloth is coming somewhere in the end of the EA dev cycle, around update 20 based on the EA roadmap provided by the dev (with blurred animal names ofc but people are smart).
The cave bear is iconic ice age animal though and I'd say it has a more significant role in our understanding of human prehistory then the bears I assume you would suggest. It's a species that in my opinion makes sense to have in a park with resurrected prehistoric animals. I'm sure that Arctodus will be the next bear in line if the devs decide to add another down the line and it's a highly requested animal, so I wouldn't worry that the cave bear is "taking it's slot".
