Aesthetically speaking and in terms of animals, the game keeps getting better. It feels more like you're building an actual zoo or wildlife park instead of the devs just aping Jurassic Park for the 80th time.
They know people will buy and support its early access cause it looks pretty and lots of dinos. It just an empty shell still missing good mechanics and AI, i wish they worked on that stuff first
@@GallowglassVT i know PLENTY about early access, they stay in early access for 5-10 yrs, some never finishing or at best becoming a decent game, all the while claiming they will be "ea for about 2 yrs" in the description. Something thats a larger company like Baldurs Gate 3 delivers, otherwise they never do
The ankylosaurus is just so gorgeous. Leagues above the JWE series. Even if you ignore the paleo accuracy aspect, the PK ankylosaurus is just nicer looking in general
Another wonderful update to see. Loved the forest biome and the theme for it. I love making parks that revolve around national parks. The dinosaurs added in and the remodels for some of the previous creatures in the game. Can't wait to see what will the game bring next.
Great! I love the update and Ankylosaurus. But you forgot the model changes on Tarbosaurus, both Edmontosaurus species, Ugruunaluk or whatever you call it, and Lambeosaurus
Prehistoric Kingdom is looking better every update, I may consider getting it after a few more species get added(still reeling from the Mesozoica situation so I'm hesitant to buy early access games now lol)
3:02 While it's most likely that wood carving represents Velociraptor, there's also the chance it could be the Archaeopteryx? IMHO it kind of looks more like a Stenonychosaurus; which I hope eventually comes to the game in a future update 3:18 I hope this carving means that Mawsonia (along with other aquatic animals) will eventually be added to the game in a future update? 3:33 I think that's Microraptor 3:50 That's most likely the Cave Bear which will be coming in either the next update (Update 13) or the one after (Update 14)
it's probably archaeo, considering most appear to be based on things already in the game (spino, edmonto, microraptor, etc) as the last one is velociraptor vs. protoceratops. though i do agree with you, stenonychosaurus would be amazing to see. troodontids need more love ngl
18:22 😂 Never been inside a dino before! Your videos always make me laugh! (Thank you BIS cause honestly it’s been a really rough year and watching your videos has helped a lot) PK is truly beautiful too, I bought a copy as I was inspired watching you build. Hope you do more PK and Minecraft builds in the future!
Thanks for covering this every update, it really needs all the help it can get ahead of Jurassic World because it’s so much more niche and it really needs to be shouted about!
Farmer here ! While playing this game something always feels off about the animals to me and now I finally know why ,the herbivores are to busy ,they walk around too much ,they should be busy grazing ,not just walking 🤣😅
Right now, all the animals are running on functionally the same AI package. They're prioritizing functionality atm, but they do have an animal AI overhaul at some point before the full release of the game. I hope we get animations of animals just laying down, resting, or (as you said) just grazing.
@@VelociraptorsOfSkyrimThey did have grazing animations at one point, I think they might have temporarily removed them when they redid the animal movement system, not sure if they ever got to adding them back.
@KeegoonBarnacle Which would make sense. Making sure the new movement system works would take priority over making sure the grazing animations remained functional.
Although it's just a footnote near the end, your praise for the tutorial is really great to hear, it was a major labor of love! And it's designed with a strong eye towards the future of challenge content for PK
Last night I wanted to go to sleep early, but I loaded up PK and got started on a new redwood park starting with an Ankylosaurus enclosure. The new biome was so fun to play around with (it’s so pretty), and I lost track of time. Long story short, I went to bed 2 hours later than I intended to.
I really love the Rustic aesthetic, really feels homey. I love the redwoods, the wooden structures, the statues, etc. there's something about the NA West Coast environment that I really like.
In terms of building this games already there for me. All it needs is the following: 1. Better dinosaur AI 2. Hunting/fights 3. Breakouts 4. Some sort of ranger mode Once that’s in I’ll 100% buy
Ooh! Always happy to see these! The rustic style and the plants are so nice, people are gonna make such cool stuff with these! The dinos look great as usual~ Just look at them! I love Fred's patterning, especially.
While I am very excited for Anky and Bronto, the redwoods in California are very near and dear to my heart, and the rustic theme is very nostalgic for me as well! But must importantly the standardized prefabs are really gonna help me with making my parks look good without spending hours to do anything!
I can't wait for flying and aquatic stuff In this game if they haven't ditched them completely. I remember them showing art designs flying and aquatic creatures during very early development of the game.
The Bearstatue could be a teaser for a Bear coming into the Game. And imo it is time to introduce some new Mammals. I Like the Dinos, but i am in love with these Mammals in the Game.
Really nice that the tuto system is redone. I agree with you that's one of the best game of this kind (thank you again for the discovery of this masterpiece
I just hope that despite some animals are not prehistory, something like the Warrah, thylacine and Dodos would be great additions. These animals went extinct because human recklessness.
Hope you can answer this... I'm new to the game and love the look of it. I can't seem to get any guests to spawn and come into a park in either challenge or sandbox games. I see the entrance, but nothing happens... no guests. Not sure if I'm supposed to add a path, the entrance is elevated and I read that there are no elevated paths yet... so do guests come in and walk over the slabs??? Again, not getting guests so not sure what to do. TIA.
i don't play this game, but when i look at all the new doors walls, windows etc. you guys are getting i cannot but laugh. In comparison in sims 4 you get a fraction of that and for 30$ at that haha
Oh by the way, as someone who lives in the United States, pretty close to some national parks, I can say a lot of the stuff in this update is pretty accurate. Good job, devs. 👏🏾
PK is a gorgeous game, the animals especially, but the plants are honestly pretty disappointing. A lot of them are very pointy and angular along leaves and branches, and if you look at big forest shots it’s just the same green over and over again, and it’s a darker green that looks artificial when it’s so common and prominent. IMO planet zoo does its plants a lot better, except the no plant brush part
Yes, this is the point of the alt species and genera. That way they can add animals that otherwise might not be worth adding in the roster if they were separate. Aside from Apatosaurus/Brontosaurus the same thing is going on with Tyrannosaurus/Tarbosaurus, Parasaurolophus/Charonosaurus, Edmontosaurus/Ugrunaaluk, Paraceratherium/Juxia and Elasmotherium/Sinotherium. And also some genera have different species, for example the game has both the Eurasian cave lion (Panthera spelaea) and the American cave lion (Panthera atrox), 3 species of Camarasaurus, 3 species of Pachyrhinosaurus, 2 species of Torvosaurus, etc.

Sauropods had specifically adapted eyes to see better at dawn and dusk. This implies, that they used all the light of the day that they could to graze

Seeing the scientifically accurate dinosaur wood craving makes me want to spend money I don't have. XD lol
This game has the most absolute beautiful models and skins for dinosaurs

Yes reusing animation is common in many games making new models for a new dinosaur is silly
