    Great job going over the ins and outs of the new lens, Liam (and awesome shots, too!).

    Something you didn't cover is minimum focusing distance. On the Sony 200-600mm it is around 36' at 600mm. Which is why I sold it and got the Sigma where the minimum focusing distance is 7'. Makes a huge difference when you are shooting small birds such as warblers, sparrows and kinglets. At 150mm, the minimum focusing distance.is down to 10", which is almost macro territory.
    The Sony is a great lens for sports and larger wildlife but the Sigma is so much more versatile and cheaper.

    Nice overview Liam. I own the Sigma 150-600mm C lens for my Nikon D7500 for wildlife images which works pretty well. That new Sports version looks really good and has the same filter diameter as my C version (95MM). It doesn't look like Canon & Nikon will be opening up their RF and Z mounts to third party lens manufacturers anytime soon though which is a pity.

      Right on Steve. FYI the new sports lens is for mirrorless only. Currently E and L mounts. Thansk again!

    Hi Liam! I have the Sony A9ii and just purchased the Sigma 150-600mm sports lens. Will I need to calibrate this lens before using it?

    • @liamdoran2149
      @liamdoran2149  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldn't have to. I have never done that..I pull em out of the box and shoot em! Enjoy!

      You should see how big a 600mm prime is! Makes the 150-600 look tiny.

    Talk about unpretentious. I don’t even have a camera, and this guy makes me want to go out and purchase a Sigma 150-600mm DG DN S lens.

    Excellent video for people that don't have the financial clout to buy the 600mm f4 lens or if had the financial ability might prefer having a lighter backpack over long undulating hikes.

    • @liamdoran2149
      @liamdoran2149  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks...yeah a 600 f4 is extremely expensive and challenging to lug around. Good for some but now for everyone!
