I have a question that may seem obvious to some but I'm getting this for an elderly person who does not have a landline phone jack. If I buy a landline desktop phone (not a cordless desktop) that normally powers up through a phone jack, can that phone be used and receive it's power source from cell2jack that is plugged into the ac power source? I'm trying to power a desktop phone that is elderly friendly and does not have it's own power source other than if it was plugged into a phone jack (which of course I don't have). Sorry if this is a confusing or dumb question. Thanks in advance.
Will this work with the old retro chorded landline phones? My grandmother is loosing her eyesight and I think this would help her be able to call people easier if she can use the voice commands on a chorded land line.
This device is advertised as being able to work with any landline phone, including old rotary and standard pushbutton phones. I'm not sure why the previous response to this question states that this is VOIP. This device has nothing to do with VOIP or any kind of internet connection at all. The device allows you to connect a landline phone to your cell phone via bluetooth.
Hi I just got this for my rotary phone but on the features side of the booklet thing it says "to make a call pick up and dial the number on your home phone." But it doesn't say the number on my rotary phone it still rings when someone calls but I have to make calls with my cell phone instead of the rotary phone please help.
I wanted to know this, too. I have an antique phone booth with rotary phone and wanted to be able to use the phone without having to get a phone line for it. So, you can get incoming calls, but not do outgoing calls? When you pick up the rotary phone, do you get a dial tone?
@@matthew8153 Actually that is not true everywhere in the US. It MAY be true where you are. All my LANDLINE phones work touch-tone or rotary dial. I understand that VOIP services don't work with rotary dial phones.
@@matthew8153 As little as one year ago, before I moved, I was using two rotary phones on traditional home phone jacks in Las Vegas through CenturyLink landline service. It is absolutely still possible to use rotary phones in the US in the exact same fashion as they were being used up through the '70s. As Joe Haggerty said, it just depends on where in the country you are.
It works fine with incoming call. It will ring and pickup to answer. For dialing, only works with DTMF tone which oldschool pulse landline phone does not support, but you can dial from your cell phone
Same question. The Xlink BT I heard works but they are really expensive. I want to use my rotary phone and I think I might settle for this cell2jack instead.
I tried, but althoigh the phone is paires with cell2jack there is no connection with an old disk phone..it's probably the phone. I will try a different one and see...:/
Does this show the caller's phone number? In the video the phone just displays "Incoming Call", but no phone number. My mother needs to be able to screen calls before answering them.

Yes, you can use a phone that operates on only the phone jack. I have a 90s phone like that and it works

Rotary phones are no longer supported in the US, not even with traditional landlines.

I noticed you were able to access Siri via the landline phone. Do you have a way of accessing ChatGPT voice assistant via the landline?
In any case you can set a Siri automation to start talking to chatgpt. there are a lot of tutorials on youtube

How do you connect the pulse telephone? Do you first sincronize the dial one and then it should work with the pulse one?
