- Due to an accident, my driver side mirror assembly for my 2011 mazda 3 needed to be replaced. Process should be the same for '10-'13 mazda 3.
Part# are listed below:
Mirror Sub -Assy (Driver side): BBM5-69-18ZL
Body colored Cover: GS1E-69-1N7A-0B
Tools Needed:
1 x socket wrench
1 x open wrench
We used this video to replace our passenger side mirror on our 2011 Mazda Cx-9 (using part TE73-69-12ZG) and it was so helpful! Other mirror replacement videos assumed that the door panel had to be removed, but we tried your method and it worked great...much better in my opinion than messing with the door panel. Thanks for publishing this video!
This helped me a lot with my 2012 Mazda 3. Definitely wish I had an 8 mm wrench for that lower bolt. Had to make due with a socket + an adjustable wrench that was barely able to fit. Also, I stuffed a piece of plastic bag inside the door just in case the bolt fell in order to catch it. Saved my ass when one slipped.
great video - I replaced my broken mirror assembly. great instructions, the harness was the hardness thing to figure out, but got it done in 45 minutes
You have helped me so much!!!! I replaced my car mirror all by self. Only difference was I used an 11mm socket wrench, 8mm was to small
Thanks so much for this video! Helped me change my own mirror and save $150 over the dealer!
glad to hear that!
Hey man. I just used your video to replace the side view mirror on my Mazda 3. Thanks so much!
Successfully installed our Kool-Vue replacement mirror we got online on our 2013 Mazda 3 in 20 min!
Thank you. Some asshole hit my mirror and just ran or drove off. Gotta fix it myself now.
This helped me change the mirror etc. good step by step process
SunilLiam Morar glad you found it helpful
Thank you for this!
How do I get that white plastic thing to disconnect
Thank you!
hey, the motor of the mirror (which folds it inside) broke and i need to replace it. does the mirror have this motor or is it sold seperated? thanks for the video!
The back casing (the part covering the wires) broke off. However, the mirror itself is still working. Do I need to replace the entire unit, or will I be able to just attach the back casing to my current mirror?
Julian Zarins if there is no other damage on the main mirror assembly, I do not see why you can't just replace the cover. Try removing and cover and inspect the assembly.
I had hoped this would help with a 2016 but it appears you have to remove the entire door panel for it ...just my luck
what do you call those white clips,?
Got the wire clip out by squeezing with some needle nose pliers.
Would I work the same on a 2012 Mazda 6? Curious
What website did you use to order the parts? are 2 parts ordered separate also?
I bought the parts from the dealer (offering 20% for parts at time) as i wanted OEM. Both pieces can be bought separately.
Hi, How much was the part and where did you order it from? Thanks for the video!
mike jones It wad an OEM part from the dealer. It was around $150CAD if I remember correctly.
loti_khulotzkie i see. Thank you
I just bought a passenger side mirror for a 2010 mazda 3 hatchback off of ebay for $85. It's used, but it's fine! :)
What about the power connection to the mirror? Is that a snap on clip as well? Thanks in advance!
yes. there one connection.
+loti_khulotzkie mine has a blinker as well. Do you know if it's the same connection? Or do I have to take it to the shop for that one?
+John Francis should be the same. the "connector" has pins slot that powers the mirror and blinker in your case.
+loti_khulotzkie thanks a lot!
hi someone closed my mirror manually , when i tried closing it with the switch it itsnt closing properly or opening properly do i have to replace the mirror
noob saibot what do you mean by "closing"? Did u mean someone folded your side mirror manually? if that's the case, you can just push it back.
Yes they fold it in but i pushed it back but it doesnt function the same problems to fully open and close
push it in and back out again
is it the same for mazda 2 2012?
Stephanie Cutajar not sure bud since mazda 2 is a different car
loti_khulotzkie ok thanks for your help! 🙂
Arrghh! - HOW does the coloured cover go on? That's the bit I wanted to see. Not 5 minutes of you undoing a single bolt!
Sean Ellery hey bud...sorry did not show it on the video. Basically, align the cover on the mirror assembly and it snaps in place
niiieece n shiny
You cut out how to install the back cover on the mirror assembly. Not as easy as it would appear.
David Payton The back cover snaps into the side mirror assembly with ease.
