moved to Salt Lake City in August 2021...it's getting hella crowded...lol "hella", yea that's a Utah slang....but for real, the cost of living is getting up there and the traffic is becoming insane....and lastly, the homeless crisis is getting outta hand...great place but it has it's cons but I do like it!
Any comments on Tooele or Provo? What is, in your opinion the best suburb area to live within 30-40 min of the airport? House prices are pretty high there so I’m looking for a nice place while spending 500k or less on a home.
That's a fantastic question and a perfect video idea for me as well. I should do a video of the best homes under 500k within 30-45 min. of Salt Lake City & the Airport. To answer your question directly, I've sold many homes including this month that fit this description exactly and I've seen all of the existing & new construction inventory that are under 500k and the best places to find this are: Tooele (awesome new subdivisions w/ a lot of options), Stansbury Park (fewer options), Eagle Mountain (lots of options) and up north in Syracuse.
Seriously take into consideration the time spent sitting in traffic if you live south (provo/lehi/eagle moutnain etc), if you are working downtown. If you work downtown, You are significantly better off living in Tooele or Davis County versus anywhere in Utah County. Also, Utah county culture sucks if you aren't TBM mormon. This is a fact.
Utah is getting crowded already.. tons of people moving here. Hard to find decent jobs, been looking for 3 years. Tons of homeless pouring in, immigrants needing support as well. I can no longer visit lakes and go hiking as there isn’t parking available anymore. Makes me sad. Is rethink coming here. There’s way cheaper states than UTAH. So many have migrated here and the infrastructure is showing signs of stress
Me and my wife have been looking at Utah, the reason we'd move their is mainly because her parents live their, i am in the healthcare industry doing Sterile Processing or Central Service some states call it, she is a Front End manager for Sprouts, we both make 30 an hour living in California, im worried we would take a huge pay cut moving to Utah and not be able to afford bills ect after moving, it would be our first home.
Got it! You could buy a home here with that level of pay, and you can even buy a nice newer home, but you will be able 30-45 min away from downtown SLC
I have not, but I will put that in my workflow right now and go create a video all about Saratoga Springs for you. Stay tuned and please let me know anytime you want to see anything or you have any questions at all.
Hey Scott. For someone looking at potential jobs to re-locate to SLC, what would you say is a healthy income to live/work/rent without having to stress about money? I saw that the median salary in SLC is about $55 to $60k, would that be a decent amount to get by with current cost of living?
Good afternoon! If you're a single adult, to live the typical lifestyle, you're going to have to cover the cost of rent or housing on your income alone along with everything else and I'd place that number as closer to 70k / year. with 2 working adults and a family, you're going to need to have a household income closer to 125 - 140k. Of course there are many that live here on much less but this is to live comfortably and using data and the 50/30/20 Rule whereby 50% of your net income covers your necessities, 30% for discretionary expenses and 20% for investments and savings.
Most who are buying are those who earn well over 100k in household income and many have homes that they are selling or leveraging that have increased dramatically in value since 2020
Hey Scott, what a great informative video 🙌🏼. I’m moving to Utah to work in Montage deer valley, in F&B. I need you help if you won’t mind, I need to find a a small rental near to Montage. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏🏻
I have lived hear my hole life and I am 70 and if I was not this old we would be leaving Utah it is to crowded it used to be so nice to go ski but now it is a disaster and the cost to ski any more is a joke. Are National parks we used to love to go to I would not even go to them any more because of the crowd's.
A huge thing you didn't cover is Utah's air pollution we are constantly top 10 in world for worst air quality, even the natives called it the Smokey valley before white people moved in.
Have you noticed that nobody watches these kinds of videos anymore. The great migration is over. The crash is on it's way, 6-9 months. Not a good time to be a Realtor.
Thanks for sharing! Actually, 50,000 + views per month indicate otherwise. I'm not here to gain subscribers or amass views. I'm not here to be a "TH-camr," I'm here to serve and connect with those who are moving here which was over 28,000 people last year in 2023 and this year seeing more than twice as many clients as last, I would say that it's a phenomenal time to be a Realtor. This year has seen the fewest home sales since 1995 and despite that, we are growing immensely because of the viewers right here on my channel. Thank you for watching🙏

Thanks for sharing your insight!
I would like to see some neighborhoods for young, single people with great access to the outdoors. Thanks!!
Got it! I'll be doing videos on areas with this in mind
Same, but mid-30's preferred.
Got it!!

Hi cheeky! It certainly has grown tremendously and with that have come growing pains.
Any recommendation on better places to move that aren't as overcrowded?
You bet! If you stretch beyond the Wasatch Front, you'll find just that. There are pockets or valleys all over with less people for sure

@@scottdsteele was looking at Provo, Orem and Logan, ty for the information and your reply, never know I may be calling you within the next year.
I would love to help anytime! Thanks for the comment too!

Im really interested in learning more about Ogden.
Aaron! I'll be doing a longer video just about Ogden and the surrounding area
Great video 💯
Appreciate it! 🙏

Hi Scott. Do you have any information on the job market for architecture in Salt Lake City?
It looks like Utah ranks #10 in the nation for jobs specifically for Architects. Not bad!
How do you think about the Salt Lake Community College for Education ?
I attended SLCC prior to the U of U and it was great. It's a great path especially for convenience and cost
@@scottdsteele Thank you brother. I have already applied at SLCC and I am planning to come for 2025 semester.
That's awesome!!
Where are people making the average $80,000 buying houses? That’s about a max payment of about $2000 or a mortgage of about $300,000 very roughly?
Most who are buying are those who earn well over 100k in household income and many have homes that they are selling or leveraging that have increased dramatically in value since 2020
great video man
Appreciate it!
Nice video, thank you
Glad you liked it!

Is in safe zone for future events 😂
What are you saying?
@@scottdsteele 🙂you really want to know
Yep! Your sentence in that comment did not make sense (it wasn't a complete sentence)
Mapleton
Mapleton is beautiful. Thanks Tatiana!
