    These things sell all day for between $800 and $1500, depending on condition. Asking $5000, as mentioned below, for the "NOS" premium is ridiculous. I suspect these guys scour the death notices in NY-NJ-CT, and pick up pristine units from estate sales, for small fractions of what they are asking ("...we got this from a collector.....we imagine he just put it away" Why "imagine", why not just ask the collector about its history? Unless they were deceased or in a nursing home why they got it). Yes, units often need work (clearly not this one, as stated), but nothing to justify SkyFi prices, good tech work is not that expensive. Still, there is always a small group of buyers; oil sheiks, drug cartels, etc.; where money is no object, so perhaps that is their target audience.

    If I remember correctly, the remote scan is a button on a cord that when pressed, changes stations without your having to get up from your chair. I forget if it’s to scan or move between presets.

      Oh, I suppose you can scan either by moving that switch.
