    He somewhat equate OT worship patterns with NT worship. But the OT worship was directly from God and put into writing, nothing done apart from that. We don’t have written Orthodox patterns from the fathers in the same way.

      Orthodox worship is in continuity with Temple worship. So the worship patterns in the OT apply to Orthodox worship.

      @@FaithEncouragedTV Thank you for your response. I have a lot of questions as I have been researching Orthodox; I’m from a reformed background. But the OT sacrifices is a pattern, so what replaced that? And I’m not seeing how you can pass this down without written revelation from God. If there’s a better way to discuss with you please let me know.

    Hi, just a question here! :) you say that you can tell a pastor's ecclesiology by what he wears, but Jesus wore rags to the synagogues and temple?

    • @janrobert3176
      @janrobert3176 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jesus did not wear rags. His clothes were valuable. At His crucifixion, Roman soldiers cast lots to see who would get them. (Matthew 27:35)

    • @PhilHoy97
      @PhilHoy97 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jan Robert or could it be that they were valuable because of who was wearing them? Jesus was a homeless carpenter who wandered around preaching the gospel. He "had no place to lay his head" as the scriptures say. He relied on the charity of others and instructed his disciples to do the same. John the Baptist wore rags of coarse camel hair, does that mean he didn't take his role seriously?

    I thoroughly appreciate this message, remarking how the physical world can help us know God, the CREATOR of it. This was so true for me. I'm in aw of God's creation all the time! Even my studies in science would push me toward God before I even really knew who God was. I look forward to creation being able to fully reflect His glory. =) 10:35 In my last church before coming to orthodoxy I would actually hear sermons where the pastors didn't care about the natural world (fear of idolatry), and would preach that we shouldn't either because it's going to fall away anyway, and If cutting down trees meant the extinction of certain animals then that was just too bad because people need jobs. I used to think, - How sad. That is God's creation! How can we just not care? Can we really not find another way? - But there were also other issues I had that caused me to move away from western christianity, blahblahblah. Im thankful for discovering this rich church.

    “We will become humble like he is humble”. Is this the same jealous god that the Old Testament speaks of who demands worship or he wipes out civilizations??

    again who believes the sacraments are a place holder not Calvinists so what protestants are you talking about? Not Lutherans either so who? And why did you say "Ordinance" with a mocking tone, as if by ordinance they mean something done under penalties? A quick search will give you a clear meaning "By the ordinances, we mean those outward rites which Christ has appointed to be administered" And I hate to tell you this, but they do call them sacraments also. I can barely sit through any more of this, I really wanted to learn about orthodoxy, but as usual this video is just an excuse to bash western people and western Christians especially. Why are eastern Christians filled with such animosity for western people? What have they ever done to earn your disgust? I wish just one orthodox priest could put aside his self righteousness and his bigotry for 5 minutes and accurately describe Protestantism. If you cant bear to accurately represent something due to the hatred you have for it, then don't discuss it at all. And you know sir those jammed packed mega churches are not preaching the christian faith, they are nothing but theaters with entertainers at the helm. They don't teach Protestantism and you know it, so why do you feign ignorance?

      What is Protestantism, according to your understanding?

    • @YourStylesGeneric321
      @YourStylesGeneric321 ปีที่แล้ว

      First - "Why do you bash western protestant faiths? "
      Then - " Bashes the Eastern Orthodox faith those who teach it "
