When I was younger as a child and teen I found it challenging to speak out my thoughts clearly because I seemed to want to really only speak out loud if what I had to say was correct or sounded like it was important but as I grew into adulthood I found that I started to write more and more and this is how I started to get more confidence with my communication skills. Now everything I do relies on my communication skills and as an adult many jobs that I have had over the years has allowed me to practice speaking and communicating with confidence. I had a lot going on with my mind internally when I was younger, I would think about things a lot on a very deep level (Natal Pluto trine Mercury) I would observe and process a lot before speaking. My Rx Mercury is in Pisces but it's conjunct Sun and Jupiter. I've always been an over-achiever and am masterful at oratory - was Debating and Public Speaking Captain at High School plus regional Toastmasters champ. It's funny because in my earlier years my comnunication was very bad. I hear from adults in my life that I used to not even speak when i was younger - i guess i was in my head a lot. It was only later on in high school when i really started to express myself and i think it's because i was aware of my challenges i worked harder than most to improve my communication and thinking by debating (and losing more and learning) and reading like nobody's business. And that made me the excellent communicator i am today. LOTS OF EFFORT PUT IN BUT IT DEFINITELY PAID OFF! i think that's the Rx lesson you've taught me. born w/Mercury Rx 16 degrees conjunct Sun 18 degrees both in Gemini in 8th house. I've noticed, during retrograde periods, this provides me with the opportunity to re-think and take communications to a deeper - more integrated- level. Not always easy as this squares my moon in Virgo, but with patience stuff really does often turns out for the better which leads me to believe being born under retrograde is a favorable thing.

My mercury (aquarius) is retrograde, saturn (pisces) in the 3rd house (aquarius) and I had a difficult time learning to read almost like my breath was stolen and I couldn't talk I also got made fun of in school for saying lots of um's. I don't stutter but I definitely don't talk somtimes out of fears I might do something like stutter. I did get good grades in school and have be complimented by more then a few on my ability to write and communicate (moon trine mercury). It takes a long time for me to warm up to someone to have a long conversation with them (capricorn sun) sometimes when I'm nervous I do the opposite and can't stop talking (mars conjunct mercury) if I'm really close to someone I have a tendency to dominate the conversation which I'm trying to work on and listen more instead
I read once a book on this aspect and the only thing i remember is that they are highly intelligent and intuitive so it is hard for them to communicate with the direct mercury people because the retrograde people are ahead or advanced.

i have my mercury in sagittarius in retrograde - so it's in detriment here, I do find communication hard, almost autistic level.

One of the best explanations of Mercury Retrograde in natal charts. It is an eye opener . I have Retro Mer in second house with Sun. I often find my ideas /views are not accepted and are dismissed. But after six months the same idea is OK. Are people with retrograde mercury able to anticipate with long time horizon ? or understand the complexity of the unfolding scenarios better ? would you please share your thoughts ?

Merc retro in Leo here, conjunct Jupiter and the Moon in 9th house. Have a gift for languages, talk and think very fast - but expressing my feelings takes a while, and my social communication is not great either, no small talk for me. I also find it hard to come up with questions to ask, I get my answers through interpreting things not asking questions.

Lada, my Sun and Mercury are in Capricorn, Mercury was Retrograde in my natal chart. I find I am able to write well and can convey ideas rather well if I am confident in the topic in which I'm speaking. I have a Libra Mercury Rx in the 10th house. It literally Opposes Saturn, Squares Jupiter, Sextiles Mars, and Trines Neptune and Uranus. No wonder people stare at me funny when I attempt to communicate my thoughts to them.

I have mercury retrograde(Scorpio) 10th house. It only makes minor aspects; semisextile Saturn(9Libra) 0*a, and semisquare Mars 0*a, and Neptune-1*s, both in 12th of Sagittarius.
My mercury (aquarius) is retrograde, saturn (pisces) in the 3rd house (aquarius) and I had a difficult time learning to read almost like my breath was stolen and I couldn't talk I also got made fun of in school for saying lots of um's. I don't stutter but I definitely don't talk somtimes out of fears I might do something like stutter. I did get good grades in school and have be complimented by more then a few on my ability to write and communicate (moon trine mercury). It takes a long time for me to warm up to someone to have a long conversation with them (capricorn sun) sometimes when I'm nervous I do the opposite and can't stop talking (mars conjunct mercury) if I'm really close to someone I have a tendency to dominate the conversation which I'm trying to work on and listen more instead
I read once a book on this aspect and the only thing i remember is that they are highly intelligent and intuitive so it is hard for them to communicate with the direct mercury people because the retrograde people are ahead or advanced.

Myself as well O.o.... Mars retrograded in Leo... Mercury Retrograded in Aquarius.. and my sun is in Aquarius... I'm one of the smartest people I know... I know that may seem egotistical and perhaps it is, but I honestly do believe it's true

I have Mercury retrograde in my birth chart. Gemini rising, Libra sun and I also have mercury in Libra. my mind is incredibly active. Sometimes too active. I'm a total scatterbrain and I have a tough time organizing my life. I don't know if that's because I don't have any Earth signs except for the South Node in Taurus but it's intercepted. I also have a 6 th house interception. I am however always seeking information. if I'm interested in something I simulate the information very quickly and I never forget it. a lot of people seek me out to ask me questions about the things that I know. The thing is is my disorganization has become a problem in terms of getting a career started. I also have Jupiter retrograde in my birth chart and I don't really know anything about that yet. hi, not at all-Retro jupiter is stronger than direct Jupiter, so is Retro Mercury...problems in career might be due to a planet in bad ladjitaadi avashta aspecting the career sector or running a difficult planet period.

I second those sentiments and ask if you'll be in the Atlantic City, NJ, area any time in the foreseeable future. (Me Rx in Libra in the 12th house. I find I function much better during the Rx. I'm a book editor, and the manuscripts assigned to me during those times are AWFUL! Muddled. Just horrible and headache-inducing.)
