    So nice to see a second video on these slipper socks! I've yet to make them, but I'm really eager to give felting a go and honestly could use a new pair of slippers. Do you have any experiences putting something on the soles of the slippers to make sure you won't slide around in the house with them? That's the only thing I'm wondering about with these!

    • @twopurlsinapod
      @twopurlsinapod  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t myself, but I’ve seen people who have and is a very sensible idea. I do tend to slide around a bit on hard floors at the moment. I recon I’d aim for something nice and soft and flexible but still with a bit of grip.

    Thanks for your tutorial it's just in time for our winter in the Barrington's of NSW. Nundle Woolen Mills do a felting wool in larger gauge. It would probably work. I'll test this theory 🎉.

    I've been a subscriber since your beginning. Very enjoyable podcast... please consider doing a step by step tutorial for these slippers... We would love it...thanks for sharing all your beautiful knits...

      Ugh it's a bit disjointed but hopefully between the first iteration and this it provides enough info. I know there's another similar video which is more extensive and step-by-step, which you might have also seen?

    Thank you sooo much for Vol 2! You covered all of my questions (except where to get vegan soles in Canada 🤣). I started to watch a different yt about this pattern and it was so confusing for me that I almost gave up. You've been such a great help and I can't wait to get started!
    And thanks for all the tweeks to the pattern-I have a size 41 so am glad for the extra sizing...and lastly, thank you so much for acknowledging all the comments! Some vloggers (re things other than knitting) sometimes don't even reply to any of the comments...which is sad as people often share from the heart. Now to find some wool I can use woo hoo!)

    I absolutely love felting! This pattern and experience checks all my favorite boxes. Just a reminder to filters… Always clean out your washer and dryer after felting. It can get a little fluffy in there and will affect your washing cycles in the future. Lol.

    Really good videos! I am inspired to try these. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I have a lot of Briggs & Little wool which is perfect for felting. I also have some Lion Brand Fishermens' Wool which would work too. Thank you so much for your detailed tutorials.

    I just made some of these slippers inspired by your first video out of our new proper yarn epic. Its a New Zealand wool woolen spun yarn and it works so great. I wear them all the time! I’m thinking about putting some leather on the Bottom to stop me slipping on the hardwood floors

    • @twopurlsinapod
      @twopurlsinapod  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually a very smart idea, I should do the same for mine given how many almost-accidents I've had... THanks for the rec, will keep an eye out for that yarn it sounds perfect 🥰

    Hi Sarah, great “explanationing” video! Missed Paige though was def a calmer podcast 😂but i love how yin and yang you are together😊
    My question is do you or can you tumble dry the slippers after washing/felting, or just air dry them?

    • @twopurlsinapod
      @twopurlsinapod  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha yeh I think without my hype girl I keep a cooler head. If you were going to wash them I’d stick to cold hand wash and air dry, just to err away from those factors that promote further felting.

    Is there a way to get the size right?

    • @twopurlsinapod
      @twopurlsinapod  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm I recon have a look at the spreadsheet. But in general make them small and stretch them, it’s surprising how much they will shape when they’re damp. Is that what you mean?

    The english version is not translated? I crochet a pair of slippers with the Alaska Wool yarn and I worked it doubled threaded to get more bulk but the double knitted would make for thinker slippers, it felted great but would like to have them thicker so if you could post the english version that would be great!!! Also I am a new knitter I only like garter stitch but if you could make a video of you making these that would be so helpful I am a visual learner and it would help me so much to see them actually being made and I think you would be the perfect person to do this because you are so helpful already!!!! Please :0))))♥

    • @twopurlsinapod

      The pattern was originally only available in Norwegian, and when I first made them that was the copy I used (with some help from Knitting Traditions). But Sandnessgarn has since made a copy of the pattern in English (the link in this video's description should be to that English version). Alternatively, I always write my steps out for each version that I do on the ravelry project pages. Hopefully that helps?

    Do you think it would be worth it to try and make the start more of an oval shape, rather than a corner? I'm thinking that it'll end up being your heel, and from socks we know how to make a heel-shape... So if you started out with ovals rather than pointed corners, maybe the end fit could get even better?

    • @twopurlsinapod
      @twopurlsinapod  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeh, I'm not sure how you'd do it but if you come up with a solution please let me know!

  • @REngArchitect

    How do you avoid the pointy heel? My heels (at the bottom) is not rounded like yours.

    • @twopurlsinapod
      @twopurlsinapod  หลายเดือนก่อน

      My heels are still a bit pointy I confess. Best I can do is try and shape and round it out while they're damp...
