Wow! It’s 2023 there is no excuse for that! I’m a professional makeup artist and that’s just unacceptable! I’m so sorry that you had to experience that!
There’s also no excuse to have someone videotape the entire thing and neither ASK? If the artist had a foundation that would suit her? Seems like LIkes were the intent here. Why does she look at the camera and smirk… as if to say “are you getting a good look at this?” Seems staged for likes.
It's really sad they didn't have proper foundation and concealer for your skintone. They didn't do a lot of countouring either, which I('m guessing is also due to the lack of tones. Still, they did a cute douyin style which is more prevalent in the eastern world - soft tones, looking young/cute instead of bold makeups we have around here. I've been seeing a lot of MUAs using color theory to mix paint and slowly match their skintones (mostly, I've seen them on youtube), so, I think professional MUAs could benefit more from using this same technique to match their client's skin instead of relying on set colors from brands. This was a sad example (though you looked adorable!) but if this was truly a chinese salon, I'm guessing it's very rare for them to have a huge array of skintones, hence the issue.
I’m white and I have tried using Asian companies foundation/concealer and it just doesn’t work. It makes me look grey, and I am English, Swedish and Cypriot!!! My skin has red with olive undertones … so it doesn’t work for me.
Your very beautiful! I hope you find another makeup artist that Carries more shades and tones ! Also I have a true story about My friend , who is a white woman , who has a very pink undertone pasty pale skin with freckles everywhere and, she is the kind of a white that burns not tans in the sun, even if she is out for like 5 mins lol. Anyway she actually got her makeup done one time when she lived in china for a year, the foundation they used on her was very white but it gave her a very grey cast bc the undertone of the foundation they used was definitely not her tone ! . It did not look good at all lol. She looked even more ghostly .
I can't believe she used foundation even knowing she might not have the correct tone and she went through with it without even thinking twice! BTW your skin look flawless 🙌
I would just not done foundation you don't need it your skin is gorgeous. I would lve these without music they are more ASMR and relax to watch without it please.
Omg! I couldn’t believe my eyes while watching her apply the foundation!! What a joke!!! Another TH-camr who does worst reviewed muas, Judy D , always has her foundation put on to dark for her skin tone but NOTHING could ever compare to this! You have gorgeous skin she should have skipped the foundation!
tbh, it's not bad, just....ma'am could/should have told you she didn't have your shade, the makeup is well done, but the shade ruins the whole look. It's unfortunate.
They should have had some shades that could have matched with that store set up they had ! You handled it well and at least the eye shadow and lips look great on you
I saw her moving her lips I hope she wasn't telling you how to do makeup I was waiting to see what the end going to turn out to be I was on the edge of my seat you would think she had your shade because most of the makeup come from China
@@OlaGrace139 what I would have done personally is I would have brought my own Foundation to a store and then have them do everything else. However, in China and Japan it is very common for the industry and the cosmetic companies to advertise lighter brighter skin that's just the norm to a Japanese person and a Korean or especially Chinese it's a beauty standard that has stood since the Ming Dynasty. It's just very common to Chinese people kind of sort of regarded as a symbol of divine feminine beauty. In countries like South East Asia and India it is considered that the lighter your skin tone the wealthier you are. so if you were like a ruler back in ancient time. You basically didn't go out a lot in the sun you didn't do a lot of manual labor it's just an idea that is stuck unfortunately but that's just how the countries are, but if you're going to go to those countries you just have to be very polite and respectful of their traditions it's a tradition that goes back centuries.
@@samariapenaloza6106 no, I’m sorry. They need to respect the customer and tell the truth. We don’t have a foundation that matches your color, would it be ok to just do the rest of the makeup without foundation.
@Ronika Carter No, it's not. Anyway, I think the girl in this video is so dignified & pretty. The foundation is not the right choice for her, but she is beautiful. And showed grace & good manners.
The makeup is not that bad. It would be pretty if she didn't try to turn you into Snow White.... (i just don't know why she thought that it is a good idea...)
like... is she blind or something?? obviously that is NOT ur foundation color like???? or just go with no foundation?? just dont make a stupid figure of urselft lady.... that is impressive how they did that to you there! i would be in shock
Educate her so she doesn't do this if another girl comes in with dark skin. You can tell she cared/tired. Just lack of product and education. She might not be aloud to use anything they don't sell, I wasn't at Ulta.
I’m curious why didn’t you stop her from the beginning? Ask to see what if she had a color to match your own skin tone? Like other’s mentioned, she does seem sincere so I would’ve just stopped her and asked. There’s no way I would’ve let her continue to work on me if I felt uncomfortable or not happy with the results. Also, you do have a beautiful complexion and I’d of just skipped all that makeup and just done my eyes and lips.
TF I am sure she had an eyeshadow close to your skintone why not using it as face powder instead of that foundation that looks like nivea cream on you 😳
Honestly, she should’ve just not done foundation because your skin is impeccable

the makeup artist is actually quite talented and also seems very pleasant natured without a hint of mean spiritedness
this is so unprofessional, she could have at least tell you she just doesn't have your shade for foundation 😭
Chile she done turned you into a geisha 😂😂😂
LMAO, exactly
Trueee 😂😂😂
Oooh my goodness 😂😂😂
Big facts🤣
I couldn't see the need for foundation on naturally beautiful skin such as yours.

I guess it only works for their own skin tone
Asian companies?What brand?
I’m hollering 😂😂😂

They are always telling Judy she is too white! Then pile on dark powder to make her look "tan"! I always feel so bad for her!
tbh, it's not bad, just....ma'am could/should have told you she didn't have your shade, the makeup is well done, but the shade ruins the whole look. It's unfortunate.

Most cosmetic companies in China and Japan don't have makeup for super dark skin that's just the norm it's basically a homogeneous society
Yeah
