As a Christian reader, I really appreciate you being open about your convictions. I have so many thoughts about it all running through my head, so to articulate it in short: I appreciate you saying what you did because it’s relatable. Also, there’s a whole give & take in my brain, where I won’t read anything with, say, seances, yet I’ll read a dark thriller, or really just thrillers at all. How does that even make sense? I don’t know, but I think my anxious brain needs to dive into a cheesy, hopefully fluffy & easy, Christian romance.
I started my Emily Henry journey with People We Meet on Vacation. I listened to the audiobook and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved it. If that’s everyone’s least favorite, I can’t wait to read the rest of her books.
That was the second Emily Henry book I ever read and even after reading all her recent releases it has remained my favorite! Never understand why people say they didn't like it. I really didn't like Book Lovers and everyone raves about it so I'm not sure what my deal is. Lol
@@user-nj7dw2nb8f I really liked the humor in People We Meet on Vacation and I remember listening to it and being excited to read the physical book and highlight some of the quotes. I also like how well the story tied into the title of the book. The title isn’t something I think about a lot, but I remember being so satisfied with how it all came together. It was really clever. I’m going to read Happy Place next and then Funny Story for my book club, so we shall see how those compare!
@@malloriemoreno4263 I didn't really like Happy Place but it wasn't awful... I read it when a lot was going on in my life and I wasn't very invested , so I should pry read it again. But I really liked Funny Story! And I also loved Beach Read. Really though, Emily Henry is pretty much always a good time:)
19:02 I try to avoid witchy books for the same reason but this one was really well done! However I was disappointed about the spice in a YA novel. It's still a 5star as I binged it so fast.
I soft DNFd Billy Summers too, and when I came back to it I ended up liking it. I believe I gave it 4 stars overall. It definitely was a slow start though, I do agree.
For billy summers it's one of his crime novels and that's the way he writes when he dwells in that genre. I think you would really like liseys story, bag of bones, and duma key if you want more of kings flowery artistically written novels. Bazaar of bad dreams is a great literary short story collection from Stephen as well. I felt similar about billy summers but trust me not all of his work is like that
@@faithsreadingthingsthe best part about this book. 😂 A true enemies to lovers! I love a good cliffhanger at the end but I totally understand your thoughts!
I agree with you about Emily Henry. I think you fall in love with the first book that you read of hers. Like for me it was book Lovers and there's nothing that can top it
Better Than the Movies sounds so so cute!! Really want to read that one. So glad you liked Beach Read! That’s my favorite EH book, closely followed by Funny Story and then Book Lovers closely behind that. Also want to check out Heartless Hunter and Billy Summers (but now I’m a bit worried about that one 😂)
I have read a couple of Stephen King’s books, Billy Summers included. I just cannot get into his writing idk what it is I feel like I’m constantly like “wait a second, huh?” And have to reread what I just read. Definitely think audio books are the way to go with his books.
Hello, sweet friend. To stop that cough, I recommend a remedy that my husband makes for me, it's a granny's remedy 😅... 1 tablespoon of butter, 1 tablespoons of honey, juice of half orange, heat it up and take it as hot as you can stand it. It always works for me. Blessings from Colombia ❤️
Heartless hunter is on my tbr list i absolutely enjoyed Billy summers one of my favorite king reads beach read was nice but it's not my favorite by Emily Henry
With Billy Summers….I rly didn’t like it tbh 😭 I was fine with it throughout the first half like I liked the plot but it was taking me kinda a while to read it and then when I hit a pretty big shift in the plot and I started to RLY not like it. I just felt like the book could’ve been so much shorter and there was too much unnecessary stuff added 😭 but I didn’t like the audio version it made it go by much faster and I also rly did like the ending
I have a weird love hate with Stephen King. He's a good writer but the last two I read has a weird sexual element that didn't make any sense and the misogyny is never welcomed.

Girl, I just have to say that I love that you’re a Christian and that you don’t hide it! Love your videos 💛💛💛

Love Dance of Thieves and Vow of Thieves - also loved the Remnant Chronicles which I wish I had read first. Definitely a favorite series of mine.

I am reading "Beach Read" now and agree with you.
Hope you are feeling better!

HAHAHAHAH I can see that when it’s untied😂
It said you are in Idaho. Hi neighbor I am in spokane wa😊
Finally someone who agrees with how I felt with Billy Summers. I love Stephen King, but I just do not understand the hype!
I have more luck with booktube than booktok.
