yes. came here to see if anyone was as confused as i was.
trick is to push the whiteboard part and not the frame against the bracket to create the gap for it. pulling on the whole assembly results in what our OP did, which I dont blame him, it's a really confusing system.
Even after mounting it correctly there was still a bit of play, so I took them off and attached via the corners like in the video. works alot better! if not a bit too permanent! :)

In case anyone out there is interested, I came up with a different mounting solution. The brackets obviously won't fit under the edging in the back, like they are supposed to. But I took a razor blade knife (box cutters) and ran it under the edge in the back, around where I wanted the bracket to slide under. I did this for about a 2 inch long area, and even carved out a slight bit of the fiberboard backing, just a little bit. And I was able to make enough of a gap, wide enough and deep enough into the edging, that I could slide the bracket under it as a test before mounting the bracket to the wall. The bracket isn't thick and doesn't need much space, so it's really easy to clear enough of a gap in the edging. Then once I mounted the brackets to the wall, the back of the board edge slide right over the mounted brackets, and stayed in place. Wife is very happy, which was the whole point, lol. And yes I'm still mad at Costco and the manufacturer for designing something so poorly, and for making it attractive enough that I wasn't allowed to return it!

Phew - glad I found this before we tried to install - thanks! You made our lives easier, a couple picture hangar brackets on the frame solved the problem. so besides that - pretty decent board for the price!

Thank you for this! Me and my husband were stumped! Having to do all this for a dry erase board! It was a good deal at Costco though lol!

well, few minutes seeing what u had to go thru. I decided to take a thicker bracket and shove it around the location between the frame and backing. when hanging back on, made sure to push frame down and assure the hanging bracket went under frame. worked perfectly!! now its nice and snug without any mess.

Just picked up this whiteboard and found your video on here. The bracket setup for this is really not great. Not sure what they were thinking.

Contente de voir qu’il n’y a pas juste nous qui ne sommes pas capable de l’installer selon les instructions fournies.😅 Merci.

Thank you. The directions were tossed and I questioned provided fasteners.

It's almost as if they glued all the way around the frame and forgot to leave a little gap for the connectors to slide in.
