I liked the last statement “Do what feels right to you now and enjoy it” because I relate to this a lot. My taste jumps around quite a bit from basic to minimalist to streetwear to flashy to old money to grandpa style to elevated basic and during those times that’s what felt right to me and hence I enjoyed wearing them.
As someone who constantly overthinks what others say about me, your advice is really inspiring and uplifting. Great video as always, your quality has improved a lot over the years
I loved the bit on skinny jeans! Ever since I was a teenager and been a metalhead I've always wanted to rock the black skinny jeans and band t-shirt look, but I was overweight so it just wasn't for me then. Now I'm in shape and couldn't be happier wearing that look whenever I can, trending or not.
Thank you again for speaking truth on these topics. I can totally admit influencers have completely stunted my fashion journey. I always felt the need to keep up with them especially when they put out videos like "get these 5 shirts before summer or you're missing out" etc etc and then the items they recommend are outrageously expensive. As someone new to all this I get very overwhelmed with things like that.
Like you, I also struggle with my personal style and after tons of research, I realized that I like to be minimalistic with my style so I go for a monochromatic one that leans more towards warm and cool neutral colors and I feel good doing it. This helps a lot, thanks Harry.
Never question the value of what you do, you are a pleasure, I look forward to seeing and hearing you each time a new video is uploaded, not only your style but you as a person are classic, you have a genuinely modern take on timeless style and a persona deserving of the audience you attract, keep doing you brother, you are a beautiful man, God bless
Thank you, Harry Has! I already realized your point from all of your videos!! Sometimes I forget and I will find exactly the piece of influencers are wearing or having but they don't use it. But then I remember, oh no I am one of Harry Has' followers, and you bring me to the present Harry, LoL this sounds kind of amazing and funny, but this is my experience. This just happened 30mins ago, when I was looking for a Tote, or a Bag to carry stuff in this summer!! And again, thank you so much!!
As a dad now in my 30s i do appreciate the experience and feedback you give in these topics. I think i have my own unique look. Thank you for these videos!
I never post a selfie pic on my social media because of my low self esteem and scared of people to judge my appearance, but i now I need to try it, critisism are part of our life and I need to grow as a person
I agree with you, loosers make negative coments as their insecure in themselves. I don't have a style I just sometimes look in the mirror and think I'd better do something as I look a bit of a state as my weight varies slightly things shrink. I also tend to buy value and natural materials and I'm leaning more towards comfort over fit. I'll spend more on coats jackets and footwear. I tend to think whats the weather like oh that will do. I am a lot older so i have enough clothes. I appriciate your advice on more basic clothing as we're not allways going on a date.
I admire and appreciate your honesty Harry. Keep up the great videos Even I’ve developed a love-hate relationship with the men’s fashion community recently
@@HarryHas I think you should cover these main points I'm about to make in a future video, but I have a serious problem with the men's fashion community's endless cycle of: 1. Regurgitating "self-help advice" with little to no adjustment of the original message - Just like you mentioned in the video about influencers getting inspiration from other influencers. It seems to me that most of those guys don't even bother practising what they preach because they haven't offered a unique perspective or counter argument about the advice being provided; they're just trying to fit in with the crowd because they want the easy pathway to making money down the line Yes, exercising and eating a nutritious diet can help you lose weight but the results will always vary from person to person. You can tell that someone is basically a copycat of another influencer because they have virtually nothing unique to offer and they clearly don't care about building a good community that encourages each other to be sensible and be better -------------------- 2. Gaslighting - A viewer is not "ugly" because they choose to do any of the things that mentioned in a video titled "6 Ugly Things Men Wear" or "Clothing that women find ugly". The profitability of self-help, which is what the fashion community often falls under, relies on people feeling insecure with themselves so the influencer can sell a quick fix solution in exchange for quick profits. Some TH-camrs in this space (whom shall not be named) are guilty of creating content with clickbait geared towards making people feel bad, which has been a contributing factor to the declining mental health issue across the globe -------------------- 3. Encouraging overconsumption for social affirmation - It's no secret that people in this space want some sort of attention or praise for their outfits (believe me I do that sometimes that's why I'm big fan of your channel!). Viewers are frequently manipulated into believing that one item could get them laid or that it will solve all of their shortcomings Personal style is something you are meant to define for yourself because everybody has different body shapes, preferences, height, etc. The influencers who say "invest in basics" usually means "look good for social media only, and ignore the practical uses and costs". It's kind of pathetic that they would slander wearing shorts and sandals in hot weather; if any of them have even visit other countries then they would see that nobody gives a crap about what you wear as long as you protect yourself from heat stroke and serious skin damage
I go with some mindsets that i feel have helped me quite a bit. 1. If people talk badly about your outfits, you're probably doing something right. By that i mean, you're catching their attention because you wear clothes true to yourself and not to please others. 2. My main inspiration to what i wear come from Johnny Depp, Billie Eilish, Cole and Dylan Sprouse and occasionally Harry Styles and Kurt Cobain. If something feels overkill or whatever... try it! Because it is your idea of what can be interesting and fun to wear, which also shows confidence. 3. Dress like a celebrity. And by that i mean, if YOU think it looks cool, then do it. You are more likely to receive compliments the more you dress like yourself, because it shows YOUR taste and personality = you are not trying to please others, you wanna please yourselves. I usually buy from H&M and look for timeless pieces with cool, interesting or unique textures and or detail Outfit 1 and 2 are my favourites, but i like the jacket on outfit 8 as well
Bro 1:00 you are so right here 😣 I have been following fashion influencers since a long time and now I am at a point where I try to buy every single thing to make that same outfit and when it doesn't look good on me, I get dissappointed 😕

I quit instagram ab 6 years ago when I found myself continuously buying things that didn’t suit me at the end of day. I’ve always loved (and still do) very basic colors but at that time I was getting crazy vibrant clothes (sometimes with outrageous prints 🤦♀️). It took me a few pictures of myself to realize how silly I looked. After quitting ig I got back to listening to myself and never felt better. These days others ppl ask me about my pieces and it feels like I’m on the right track 😄

Most people who really get into "fashion" believe they enjoy "expressing themselves." But the real reason is deep insecurity and a desire to get noticed and admired, and this is rooted in varying levels of narcissism and low self-esteem. The reality is, people look their best when they're in good shape and wear simple clothes that fit well, and you really don't need that many items in your closet to do this. By comparison, wearing a $450 trendy, oversized designer sweater and the latest crazy sneaker collab makes 99.99% of people look insecure and try-hard. I've gotten sucked into this world myself over the years, and I still do sometimes to this day, so I know how it works.
