Mate... Kronplatz a secret???? Maybe to americans, but it's one of the best and really known Dolomites resort that gets LOTS of people from all over Europe, making it quite crowded at the time of school holidays at all the neighboring countries.. I'd be very very hard pressed to say it's a well kept secret 🤣 But I do love it, my favorite, absolutely, just surprised to see it in "hidden ski resorts" video..
Just got back from a Kronplatz . It’s just as the writer said, very popular with southern and eastern Europeans. But it’s so big that you never run into another skier. They did a great job of managing conditions in this low snow year. We’ll go back.
@@kkrsnn5632 Might officially be in Italy, but you'll always get a Tirolischer greeting from the locals, almost never italian, sooo.. Kronplatz it is 😁
I live 30 minutes from Kronplatz/Plan de Corones. Yes, it’s well crowded siringa holiday times, but you have to wait for the gondolas only for the one that start from the bottom villages, once you are on top, moving between the many areas there aren’t much traffic, there are times when you took a 10 seats gondola totally alone. But i wouldn’t say it’s an hidden gem, it’s well known, for many years it was elected Best Ski area in Italy.
As someone who’s been to Soldeu 10+ times I can honestly say it is an amazing place to ski for people of all abilities, don’t let the snobbery fool you just because it’s cheap it is 100% worth a visit!!!
Let’s précise that Val d’Anniviers is not a resort but a valley including a few resorts such as Grimentz, Zinal, St-Luc and Chandolin. Grimentz and Zinal are connected with a large gondola but the slopes aren’t connected, unlike St-Luc and Chandolin that are sharing the same skiable area.
Io ci abito vicino, 30 minuti circa.
See, Kappl and Galtür in Paznauntal I Austria is perfect if you are a little introvert when skiing. Take one day out to go Ischgl just see what a commercial resort looks like.
Trysil, Hemsedal, Geilo in Norway. I am very familiar with French Swiss and Austrian Alpine resorts but I also like the Norwegian ones because of the quality of the snow late in the season and the surprisingly extensive and variate slopes and accommodation.
Pila is a great resort but there is nothing to do off the mountain. There aren't many places to eat or drink after the mountain closes. The food isn't great. The mountain is cheap and fun and would recommend it
Baqueira is probably the best "hidden" one since people are not aware of just how GOOD the snow is there. Always fully open, always PACKED with snow. Good quality snow. Always sunny and the weather is nice on average. it's expensive tho.
Made it to Baqueira last winter before Christmas and had huge early snowfall. Very good ski resort, I'd recommend staying down in Veilha for best value and atmosphere.
Not all local skiers really agree with you, but sure for foreigners both Ruka and Levi are true hidden gems and they offer a lot of interesting activities like husky or reindeer sledging, snow mobile safaris, Aurora boreaalisen safaris, snow shoe treks, not to forget a visit to Santa Claus during Xmas time.
Mate hidden resorts in Europe are ,Jahorina& Bjelasnica Bosnia,Kranjska Gora Slovenia, Zlatibor Serbia, Brezovica Kosovo,Mavrovo,Krusevo & Sar Planina N.Makedonija, then Zakopaneand +10 in Poland ,15 in Slovakia etc , in middle east only Iran has 10resort and so on so on
So , Soldeu and La Clusaz are ' Hidden '. Nonsense. La Tania is part of the 3 Valleys ( heard of that ? ). And , I've ski'd Serre Chevalier , Obergurgl and Serfaus ( part of Seraus Fiss Ladis ). All big. All really popular. Whoever did this video is clueless.
I dont know about you all, but iknow that Baquiera is one of if not the most spoken of, famous and most expensive ski resort in Spain. maybe its people outside of Spain that have yet to discover it.
The skiresorts seem to be very big. My tip: Rather look out for places where famous skiers are coming from. This can lead you to real secret spots. As soon as there is après-ski, it is touristik!
yeah. grandvalira (soldeu) is very well known. There is another resort called Pal-Arinsal that is a lot cheaper and still has very good snow n slopes (although its a bit smaller).
I am looking for a ski resort which maxes out at 1900m. Ski-welt in Austria is 1850 - 600m. Which is perfect. Is there any other similar ski resort in Europe?
depends on what region you want to visit but these heights are quite the standard around the alps. For example the oberstdorf area including 3 ski areas. But if you search for a real typical resort i would say ski welt wilder kaiser is one of the best. But why do sou have a max height, sounds very interesting? Also most of the places in the video are the most crowded places in the alpes dont be fooled
The problem with those elevations, you risk positive temperatures and bad snow. Maybe better to head north to Norway and Sweden where elevation is not the same factor. I will never forget the year i was in Saalbach in february, and it was raining.. in february 😢 I have skied alps terrain 1600+ meter ever since..
I'm not sure if this is AI generated. Surely no human would pronounce all the names wrong! Equally, there are basically no hidden resorts mentioned they are all busy and well known. Ruka is a quiet resort, but by no way the best in Finland, it is probably the most popular in Finland.
Wow! Pronunciation. Would love to see how you say Tignes. Val d'Anniviers? Nice 's'! Hahahaha. The Swiss would just look at you! Where?! And what is located at the head of the valley - 'the pretty valley village'?! Try Zinal.
Kukisvumchorr in Hibiny mountains, Murmanskaya oblast, Russia is the best atmosphere, with four Poma ski lifts, in mining town, with day lodge and cafeteria, surrounded by millions of hectares of wilderness.
Super silly video: It starts with not being able to pronounce Val d‘ Anniviers anywhere near the real thing, while Val d‘ Anniviers really is a hidden secret. It ends with calling Obertauern and Serfaus (-Fiss-Ladis) hidden secrets, which is simply nuts. - Are you some sort of American AI bot, just making money from generic non-information?
If you can't even pronounce the resort names, then clearly you haven't even been there and are likely just reading off a book. Zero credibility to this video, shame on you.

Obertauern ? I don't think so...I live down by the valley... the amount of people is overwhelming, especially this year it felt like London !
Shame. Remember going there often in the late 90's and loving it. Pretty much learned to ski there.
Serfaus hidden? We went there already in the sixties, it grew more popular over the years and now you could say it's busy. Lovely place anyway.
i teached snowboarding there 11 years ago and it was expensive and super busy
As someone who’s been to Soldeu 10+ times I can honestly say it is an amazing place to ski for people of all abilities, don’t let the snobbery fool you just because it’s cheap it is 100% worth a visit!!!

vercorin is also in the val d'anniviers, but not connected with the other one
@@OnihrTheDwarf very true
actually connected by a cable car
Sellaronda is one of the best known locations in Italy, I wouldn’t describe Kronplatz as an unknown wonder

Thanks for watching!

How is Borovets undiscovered?
Thankyou for the ideas 😃👌
Serfaus, Obertauern and Kronplatz don't really fit the list. They are really well known and popular. I would add Gudauri in Georgia to the list.
Trysil, Hemsedal, Geilo in Norway. I am very familiar with French Swiss and Austrian Alpine resorts but I also like the Norwegian ones because of the quality of the snow late in the season and the surprisingly extensive and variate slopes and accommodation.

Ruka is actually the 2nd best ski resort in Finland - Levi is by far the best according to all native skiers like me ;)
Not all local skiers really agree with you, but sure for foreigners both Ruka and Levi are true hidden gems and they offer a lot of interesting activities like husky or reindeer sledging, snow mobile safaris, Aurora boreaalisen safaris, snow shoe treks, not to forget a visit to Santa Claus during Xmas time.

Balkan man spotted
Need to work on your prononciation, mate
It’s a computer. AI garbage.

In baqueira beret were Host the Freeride World Tour for many years. It’s well known for the people who are looking for freeride experience
Klausberg in Italy!
That’s a real hidden gem. Lot of snow, well maintened piste and a well kept snowpark. Home of the King Markus Eder❤️
Obertauern is really famous

Serfaus the best hidden resort? It's the most overcrowded mass tourist ski resort in Europe.
12.44 - tobog nagging😂My wife does that.
Couldn't keep watching this because of the irritating jitter.
Oh my god, yes. Why is it released in 60fps when most of the video in it is probably 50?
more hilarious extraordinary pronunciations, making me sure this is all 2nd hand info.
