My father in law flew Lancasters in the war.He fought to keep enemies out of the UK.He was paying tax on his pension when he died at 96 years old.Our current leader let's in anyone who wants to come.He has a special provision to pay no tax on his pension.He is supported in luxury by a foreign donor.He seems to think he is doing a great job and is on the right path.I have news for him: the sooner he gets out the better.

@lestorhaslam The UK is still the 6th largest economy in the world and the 2nd largest in Europe in terms of GDP. Which I find hard to believe, considering the largest transfer of wealth in history from the people of this has occurred during the last 14 years. It also begs the question, why if this is the case is the country in the state it's in?

I have to say I'm surprised by Labour's strategy. One would have thought the new government would be wary of upsetting the public after seeing what happened to the Conservatives. Its as if they do not understand they were elected to form a government nobody wants - a protest vote against the Conservatives. They do not seem to understand they are on probation, and the majority of the electorate cannot wait to get rid of them.

They have only themselves to blame. One of their first acts was to cancel the Winter Fuel Allowance for around nine million pensioners, a decision that however it is looked at is indefensible. There may be a few wealthy pensioners who will not miss this money, but not nine million. To get pension credit and thus qualify for the Winter Fuel Allowance is not as simple as some Labour cheerleaders make out. Firstly, the form is online, secondly it is massive with hundreds of questions, thirdly the cut of point is far too low so many poor pensioners will suffer, and finally there is a backlog of months so it could be the New Year with most of winter gone before being approved.
It is obvious that Labour itself realised this was an own goal as they sent out minister after minister to defend the indefensible. All this did was to underline the crassness of this deliberate choice as the excuses given became even more ludicrous, my personal favourite being, “there would be a run on the pound”. The sheer stupidity of this was immediately blown out of the water by giving doctors a 22% pay rise, train drivers a 15% pay rise and other public sector workers above inflation rises. As the money for this was almost ten times the savings from taking money from pensioners people rightly asked why such profligacy would not cause a run on the pound.
Even in the face of this Rachel Thieves and Free Gear Starmer were too stubborn to admit their mistake. As a result these two and the Labour government became defined by their choice of taking money from the elderly.
To rub salt in the wound, most of the Cabinet were claiming fuel allowance to heat their homes. Then on top of this came Wardrobegate and the entire sleaze saga of freebies. It underlined the hypocrisy of Labour as many were in the process of feathering their own nests while there is the very real prospect of many pensioners having to choose between heating and eating.
I agree that the winter fuel allowance should be "means tested" but this blanket ban means "Jack"
Labour has become a living nightmare not only for pensioners,but for single young people either renting their first flat or in their first property and already facing a struggle with their mortgage as everone fears the single rates discount being pulled from under them by grannie killer,Rachel Freeze!

If rules weren’t broken then the rules should be changed and should be displayed in the public domain if the value or description put in the register is different to the donation or gift ie value of New York apartment per night £250 instead of £2000 or office expenses instead of clothes then it is FRAUD and should be changed as FRAUD
