Excellent video! I've been trying to wrap my head around this game and play for the first time for almost a year now. You made the perfect tutorial video on how to start out. Thank you so much.
Damn! I never thought anyone would get close to Rodney Smith when it comes to explaining games but you have proved me wrong. On top of that you're doing it with wargames. Liked, subscribed and very, very grateful. Thank you!
Excellent video and to the point. Great summary of all the rules! I wish you had more of these for DVG games such as Stuka Leader or perhaps Field Commander Rommel since these are next on my list.
Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. There are still many DVG games to review. I don't have the two that you mentioned yet, but I do have Corsair Leader, Thunderbolt Apache Leader, Field Commander Napoleon, and Field Commander Alexander. LEARN THIS GAME also did a video on U-Boat Leader (2nd Edition) in case you have this game. Lots of great games, too little time!
Hi! Your explanation videos are so clear and helpful. I love them! Will je be able, in the near future, to do a video about the US Airborne expansion #24 please?
Solid Video. love the effort you put into adding graphics to help us understand. newbie ? : I'm struggling understanding ammo. Is an ammo counter ONLY removed after a solider performs a 'reload' action? Versus, removing a counter immediately after a soldier performs an attack? thanks guys
Thank you for the feedback and question. An ammo counter is only removed if you roll the indicated number or less on the Reload line of the weapon card. You do not have to automatically discard an ammo counter after every attack. Then it takes another Action to reload before you can fire the weapon again.
Thank you for the feedback. Glad it was helpful. You may also enjoy the video on the sequel based on the Pacific theater - link is in the Description. Good luck with the game!
Bonjour! Votre anglais est bien mais vous devrez pardonner mon français. Il semble s'agir d'une photo de plaques d'identité (identifiant de soldat). Il n'est que décoratif. J'espère que cela répond à votre question. Merci d'avoir regardé!
Great video. Thanks. I don't understand the logic of Walsh taking out the bunker with an M1 rifle. For such a detailed game that seems like a significant abstraction. Maybe it just means he occupied the bunker?
Thank you for the feedback. The Objective Card only required one hit and did not specify that a special weapon was required for the attack. There are other Objective Cards that do require specific weapons to be used such as explosive weapons. The bunker card does require the firing soldier to be in the same location in order to attack it, so it makes sense he would be close enought to occupy the bunker.
Yes, the basic gameplay is the same. The Pacifc version will also have requirements for environmental checks so Hardy counters will become relevant. The Pacific version also has 9 campaign sheets, some of which are based in Europe. There are US Marines in the Pacific core box, but their cards have the same information as the soldiers in the Europe core game. Hope this helps. Thank you for your question.
That's a good question because it is easy to miss in the rulebook. There have been multiple versions of the rules including the original dedicated versions (for WW2 specifically) and universal rulebooks. Regardless of the version you can refer to the very beginning of the section SOLDIER ACTIONS: "All Player Soldiers have 2 Actions that can be spent each Solider Turn, unless otherwise noted on their cards." In the original WW2 rulebook I have, it is on page 20. In the April 2021 universal rulebook, it is on page 32. Hope this helps.
Im annoyed you cant find the WW2 version of this game even on their DVG website. Only the modern or other varients. WW2 they only list the expansion packs.
I just checked the DVG website and didn't see it either. I also checked Amazon, Miniature Market, and Noble Knight Games but the WWII version was out of stock. If you contact DVG customer service to ask about availability, please let us know what they say. Very strange. Thank you for the update.
Thank you for the feedback. I believe the universal rulebook makes it a little more confusing since it combines so many different games. The prior dedicated rulebooks seemed easier to follow.

How do you know McDougal only gets 2 actions? It doesn’t seem to say on his card.

I don’t know. A tactical game without a map!
If it helps, you can think of the location cards as the map. The card system allows you to have a new "map" each time you play.

Great video for a simple game that was made complicated by a shitty rulebook in terms of wording and structure.
Thank you for the feedback. I believe the universal rulebook makes it a little more confusing since it combines so many different games. The prior dedicated rulebooks seemed easier to follow.
