of course they behave completely different in sb because they're more useful and have a fair advantage in there, while rb/ab everyone gets the luxury of 3rd person peeking, rendering many tactic useless. trust me, getting good k/d ratio per match with shit tanks is easier in sb than rb especially at this tier

@@oxy3185 One thing that I feel might've missed though, is that the Bf 110 C-6 has a full HVAP-T belt, except the belt only fires a tracer every 3rd round, which diminishes the CAS performance it should have, but for a video thats over an hour long? Id be crazy not to love the video just the same. Your videos are always the best :D

11:33 Speaking about the 88's time fuse shell, yes, dont use it against air. You can use it to shoot at opentops behind cover! Just rangefind the rock it's behind and shoot right over it, that will hurt a lot. I challenge you to make a video doing just that! Good luck, love your video.

Nein_Nein_Fegelein No god please no. Not the wehraboos wanting the Tiger E at 5.3. The Tiger E is fine at 5.7. I don’t see why it needs a down tier. It will still get killed by 76mm American shells or a firefly. The SU-85 can kill it too. Besides I will miss bullying Tiger 1s with my T29 and M26 Pershing.

@@zepetv589 Armor isnt the only metric. The T-34-57 is a little above the captured T-34 and STZ but has an amazing gun with a short reload that makes up for the lack of armor. The 85 also has a way better gun and better mobility. Both of these tanks are much better then the German premium one and STZ. Plus, these tanks are rank 3 so have better SL and RP modifiers and can be used to do special tasks while the German premium and STZ can not.
@@ParanoidAlaskan It's not the only metric but the STZ's gun while inferior can pen most stuff at it's BR without too much issue and has much better post pen damage than the 57, the 85 is 1.3 tiers above the STZ it's gun has to be much better since it's facing Jumbos and Tigers. The last part is not part of the argument, just talking purely about how good they are on their BRs.

21:15 once in map 'Poland' the side skirts helped me absorb enemy shots though, i dont know how. But i took like 5 shots, and didnt die. Side skirts are pretty useful against weaker HEAT, HE, and enemy aircraft firing rockets, or bombs. But dont expect it will help against KV-2.

I find when I’m fight Sherman’s with the 105 just turn sideways and suddenly in a panzer 3 N or M you’re invincible. They never load AP, and their HEAT and HE doesn’t do anything because of the skirts. So against the Sherman 105 it’s useful
I feel as many premiums in the could easily be free and also help alleviate many roles that are currently unfulfilled by free tanks

The StuG III F was my favorite vehicle in that tier back when I first started playing War Thunder, in spite of its weaknesses. Not really sure why, but I felt like I did consistently better with that one over the PzIV F2. I actually avoided the StuG III G entirely because it wasn't needed to unlock any other tanks in the tree. In fact, for similar reasons like that I didn't use any other tank destroyer until I got to the IV/70.
Of course, I played Arcade back then (Realistic was an exercise in pointlessness), so that might have made the difference.

It is different : the Panze IV F2 is 3.7 in AB so you can match with the StuG III F.
I've found I can get a full 30second repair off in the stug 42 even when facing constant fire from several tanks
It's a beast at range and so much satisfying 🤠
The only downside that I've ever had a problem with is reload speed

The Panzer 3 J1 should really be moved down to 2.7. It has nothing exceptional at 3.0, and the Puma is more versatile with the same gun at 2.7. I see no reason how it is 3.0.
Also, you know you are playing a good tech tree when even the ones where you say to avoid it, are good tanks.

About the Panzerwerfer ("Eet Verfs Panzers!") historically, it was meant for and used for massed rocket artillery strikes. In short, it's meant for area bombardment, not precision strikes at close range except as a last resort. So, it is, in fact, working as intended.
One thing of note with the Marder III, it has smoke shells while the H doesn't. This has saved me more than once, and while it's not a good enough advantage to justify taking it over the H variant, it is good to know.

I think you should manually be able to change the timer of the shells with manually adjusting for range.
If i set my gun for 1500m then the fuse should set to that range. Using the rangefinder is a pretty dumb way of doing it because it's useless.

Enemy behind indestructible cover? He's a milk truck or something really open? Load HE, rangefind a point a little behind or side of cover, fire above the cover, if you aim well enough, the HE will explode close enough to have the shrapnel kill the crew

Hello, Oxy! I have two main suggestions: first, in the case of the StuH42 (and other vehicles) I think it may be worth differentiating between "penetration" and "post-penetration damage" instead of the catch-all term "firepower", to make it clearer where strengths and weaknesses lie.
Additionally I'd like to point out that while the T-34 747 (r) is pricey in terms of GE it does show up in the warbond shop, which does make it obtainable for "free"; I'm thinking in terms of having playtime in on another nation's tree and earning warbonds from daily missions that way before jumping into Germany.
Looking forward to the mid-tier videos, especially since though they are overall quite good I have mixed feelings about the Panthers (especially when having to fight British sabot), and I'm interested in what you have to say about them! Keep up the good work!

The addition of the MG on top of the Pz. III M improves its viability considerably, you can now engage enemy aircraft and light vehicles!
Panzer 3M looks amazing, it deserves to be played frequently.

The panzer 3m is one of the best tanks you can use in SB if you know how to angle yourself nothing can pen you, i recomend going in brawling and shooting the weakspots of the enemy tanks. i promise you will have great results at the end of the match!
Its here! I was thinking about when this would release yesterday and i feel a bit psychic.
I've noticed that, occasionally, in the Pz IIIL and M that, under the right circumstances, Sherman shells will detonate between the spaced armor and body of the tank, leaving you unharmed. Being angled increases this chance a bit. I can't really recreate it in the armor view in the hangar, so take it with a massive grain of salt.
Once had a sherman shoot 3 shells into me frontally with none doing any damage while I was trying to hit his weak points. Happened again somewhat recently too, so even after changing how penetration values are calculated it might hold true.
I'd also say the speed and mobility of the Pz3's is a plus point. Max speed of about 30 Mph, with averages in the mid 20's across rough terrain is nice. They turn quite responsively, too.

who remembers the tank CBT days were the pzIII(MBT)'s add on armor was coded to auto deflect shells and could see reserve tanks? A short but sweet rein of terror matched only by the soviet self-propelled back hole, the t-50.

Ive got for free talismans on bouth the puma and the pz4f2 after i finished tier 3 like isnt that unlucky because they are realy not that usefull to research tier4 with them

Could you make a guide on flying aircraft in Tank RB? I just can't do it very well, especially aiming bombs.
You just have to learn how the bombs behave trought trial and error. There is no other way. Every tank rb pilot goes trought it. Practise it in custom battles against bots and in time you will learn it. Before that, be patience, my friend.
Just a small thing about the Puma, it's not pronounced Pew-Ma but Pu-Ma in German, just thought I would mention it not a big deal or anything :)
It's really weird: The Stug III F is one of my favorite and best tank, but I really struggle with the G variant.
I love all german tank destroyers from armored line.
Great video. I actually prefer the Marder III over the H variant. The improvements are nice but rounds will actually start to detonate on the frontal armor whereas with the original variant many rounds pass through while doing minimal damage.
Ok, now it makes more sense. You chose the G-2 with the rockets and the 37 here, which you didn't use in the line ups here but must have changed your mind for the tier 3 line ups? As you have the Ducks and the 110 C-7. You did say purely preference, just wondering what changed? Also you do talk up the IL2 here, but not sure why you wouldn't use it, especially given it is a premium, over the others? I had been using that IL2, but the 110 is much faster, so will be trying it with my 4.0 atm. Also the whirble is 3.7 too, not sure why you wouldn't have it in there? I am mostly a pilot for WT, I have tons of WOT hours but really enjoying WT GF this time so such a noob. These videos are priceless to me, so thank you!
After Volumetric update, Panzer 3s, are nothing but Mini Tigers, Angle it and it will bounce the first shot, and Its anti tank gun will take out the enemy's gunner,

Hy mate like the last similar vid i will tell u my funny story about the aa at this rank. All my lost games(still arcade)i had at list 2plane kills and if was the map with 2 pawns close one to the other(friendly-enemy)i allways place it in a position where i can shut ther spawn exit.(i will keep doing this until u reach 6.3 br)
50:15 I have gotten 6 kills in the Panzer 2H at 6.3 and beat up Su-100s, T-34/85s, Centurions, Pt-76s, and Bulldogs with this tank. Back before the days of the LeKPz M41, this was the only light tank that Germany had besides the puma that wasn't overly expensive. Mobility allows it to remain competitive at higher battle ratings where everything becomes slower or is lightly armored enough for you to take out. Also, the tank's small size gives it the ability to hide where many of the larger german tanks wouldn't be able to.
T-34 works great in setup with Pz.Bfw IV, churchill III and KV-1B - basically easiest silver grinder in game (but i guess it's rank III spoilers)

I would just add that Herman da German Il2 is also DAMN good in the heavy fighter role in air RB as it can kill ALL the things! It kills fighters, bombers, attackers, tanks, pillboxes, all the things easily fall to 23mm doom cannon, my personal best is an ace run against FIVE count 'em 5 fighters in less than 90 seconds...all from the back! yup didn't even need to trick them into going head on, 23mm doom cannon ripped them to pieces!
So if someone need a bird that is damn good in both GF and air so it can crank out the SL? I can't recommend Herman da German Il2 highly enough, its a beast!
He forgot one weakness of the 88mm flak, that weakness is the huge ammunition storage box in the back. One shot at that and bam that enemy is really dead
The StuH is amazing, especially the C round. Recommend for grinding it up, play like an short ranged AT gun and get to the sides of other tanks

This game isn't based off of if your tank is effective in it's battle rating. It's about if your tank can survive an up tier decently

You are right, explosive filler of and APPHE shell contributes to damage in a quite insignificant way except when it's counted in kilograms. Calliber is main factor to post pen damage. 100mm gun with 100g of TNT deals more damage than 90mm gun with 520g of TNT etc. Just the fact that APHE has more than 0g of TNT filler makes it deal it's great damage
PZ III:s with extra armour are impervous to early MD5 fused shells, because they have like 0.1m fuse delay, so they detonate between extra plate and main armour. I have not played these low tier germans in years, so game mechanics might been changed since then. I took fighting T-34 & KV-1 tanks with J1 model as a challenge. I did learn their weakspots pretty easily and they were easily sent back to gulag. And when I got the extra armor versions, they were kinda trivial to deal.
I think that Pz.3 L is a must have medium tank. If you angle your 75mm hull armour it will bounce anything, turret can take quite a bit of a punishment too
Dont forget the puma can be a major nuisance at 7.7 if you get good side shots
T 34 has such great angled armour pentration (better than statcard states) because it fires APHEBC shells. Russian AP(HE)BC shells have the best (among full caliber AP shells) normalization against angled armour, especially overmatched. It's way more capable than APCBC
Right now Panzer IV H is at 3.7 and it also received a slight penetration buff few months ago(just like American 76 in 2019) and i’d say it’s kinda overpowered right know especially with add-on tracks.

But yeah, the L is definitively a trade off well worth making as the weight is hardly noticeable while the armor definitively is.

I don't really use them after the shell changes...
But before them I used the L for higher br matches and the M for lower br matches where the armor is more reliable and the trade off in weight vs the engine power is worth it.
At higher br you're going to be penned anyway so I prefer the L there over the M as I find the mobility more useful in keeping myself alive then the armor there while the armor of the L is still worth it vs the J1.
Of course back then the front armor of the L used to be reliable vs the sherman...

I actually think of it as a long range tank, it *can* beat the Panzer 4 F2 in pen with the best HEAT round at longer ranges at some angles.
It's shell is slow though so only useful long range vs stationary targets.

Well, in my about 5 k games in the Panzer 4 F2 I mostly use it as a semi-short range brawler to be honest.
That said, my crews got a free gold star for this tank due to me having played it so much...
And I've *also* maxed out things like the driving skill, reload etc...
Heck, most of my crew even got maxed out health...
(Yes, I know that I'd probably be better off with manual gear changes in terms of efficiency, but given my drivers skills I prefer having less to think about in that regard although I do have a keybind to change that on a moments notice if needed)

Considering that I surprisingly often find myself getting killed after messing up in a real tank with zero kills only to become one of the top 3 players with this thing *not* just using it for ambushing I don't really agree with you on that one...
You *can* be aggressive with it at 3.3 and down and do quite well if you know what you're doing.
It can be quite a intense experience though.
I actually prefer it vs the Whirblewind.
(I'm one of those people who prefer the Ostwind over the Whirblewind and just in general like having fewer but bigger caliber guns on my AAs)
Regarding your pro vs con thing...
Not sure if I'd go *quite* as far as calling the mobility and accuracy *poor* pr say, they're both ok and nothing I find getting in my way.
For me it feels way, way, way better then the previous AA, but meh, I think it's a bit of a preference thing...

I got a lot of use out of it due to the jumboes being 5.0 back in the day (meaning that you could face them at 4.0), and I value mobility over armor most of the time.
The StuG III F turns on a dime when you get it up to speed so it's quite fun to just yolo it on city maps, driving full speed into the front line, rounding a corner at full tilt, killing two or three enemies before they're even able to lower their gun enough to hit you, using their team mates as cover etc just being a general pain in the butt.
They usually expect a panzer 4 F2 at this br anyway so they're prepared to take out that super dangerous panzer 4 gunner.
I prefer it by far over both the 42 and the G personally.
But I'm somewhat biased due to quite strongly favoring the 3.3-3.7 br lineups over 4.0 ones due to the match ups...

For me tanks like the Panzer 3 M and StuG III G are night and day compared to the Panzer 3 L and StuG III F with the lighter variants generally being preferable, especially when facing higher br tanks...
Likewise I prefer the Panzer 4 F2 over the Panzer 4 G, J and H even at those brs...
(Yes, I *do* notice the higher weight of the G but I don't notice any advantage over the improved armor)
The thing I like about the StuG III G isn't so much the armor but it's higher pen, I kind of wish I could get that gun in a StuG III F variant, or possibly some hybrid approach similar to the Panzer 3 L vs the J1 and M.)
That said, the StuG III Gs armor is really nice when facing lower br enemies, there the trade off in weight is arguably worth it.
I just find the StuG III F more versatile.

Hum, regarding the Panzer 2 H, it got tracks instead of wheels and it's smaller, both of those can be a advantage in rough terrain with lots of rocks to cover behind.
As for the planes...
I bring a lot more then just 5 crew slots (used golden eagles from the wages you get as login gift on crew spots) so I bring 3 planes not just 1 in tank rb as Germany.
But if I where to choose at that br I'd pick the Bf 109 E4 myself.
The E4 got better ammo vs planes then the E3 and it can bring bombs without losing any firepower unlike the F variants while also being better at recovering from a steep dive then the F variant when using the flaps, they also allow it to fly slower for more accurate bomb drops, and it tends to surprise enemy planes in a 1 v 1 due to the effectiveness of its flaps.
In a 2 v 2 you'd be better off with the F variants, but in a 1 v 1 the E actually does quite well in ground battles, ambushing enemy planes and then dropping bombs on enemy tanks.
I can dog fight effectively with it even without dropping my bomb and usually do keep it in most engagement till the fight is over.
My other two planes depends on the br, but usually it's the two JU 88s with the heavy fighter variant being replaced by the 110 when fighting at a high enough br for the G variant of the 110

As for the whole HEAT thing, that's just a preference thing I thing, but I think of them as a long range weapon...

21:18 yeah same I use the pz 4 skirts variant and it rarely saves me but its great against revenge bombs. If they drop the bomb to your side you will suffer less damage/no damage at all. But it really doesnt make any difference in base gameplay.
👍. Just started playing this game. Never realised how bad the tech tree is in this game. It looks like u can only use the tank below to grind the next one. Plus they for some reason not have dedicated tech trees for each different tank type. And there’s no spg’s in game. For artillery.

The skirts on the Pz III M have saved me from artillery shrapnel a couple of times, and they can also help quickly work out which direction you've been shot from if they get destroyed

25:00 The Pz IV F1 in arcade is great, you have the rangefinding assist and 100mm at any range? Tell me a tank that round can't pen? even at 3.3. Imagine playing a 3inch gun carrier downtiered and suddenly seeing on of these little shits!
Also, 30mm turret versus a 50mm one is a huge difference.
I have to agree F1 is really capable... You can pen everything except for extreme cases like Churchill, etc. and the speed, decent armor, and fast reload allows the ability to spam steel and disable, kill, finish on 1 v 2 engagements... IMHO one of the best T2 tanks in the game. Also, in the way of data, a very respectable 3.9 K/D ratio for this one...not MEH at all IMHO. 8)

I agree with the stug3F I used to play it in my 3.3 tanks but it only got me up tiered so I switched to the StuH and I don’t regret it
I find I get matched up a lot worse when I include the PzIV F2. If I keep it out of my 3.0 lineup, I feel like I tend to get thrown at a lot lower BR.
The F2 always works well, but the rest of my lineup suffers for it a bit more in around 50% of my matches.

The spaced armor on the Pz.III M is much more effective now after the volumetric shell update. It certainly helps against the 105mm dep shermans, which seem to 1 hit kill every single tank with HE
