Shilpa rao definitely deserves more songs than what she is getting doesn't mean she'll become over rated, Majority ppl love arijit ab kehne wale toh srk ko bhe over rated bolte hai its a subjective thing from person to person. I've listened her songs since khuda jaane days and she has been great.

Apparently it's not the artist you love but the art e.g. I love songs of Arijit Singh but there can be songs sung by him which I don't like to listen to e.g. Shanivaar Raati, Hamari Adhuri Kahani etc. It just depends on what type of Music you like and which type of Music you are in the mood of listening.
Now, if Shilpa Rao starts singing songs like Dheeme Dheeme, 12 Ladke or Ka Kha Ga; the songs will definitely not be appreciated. A certain amount of audience will start calling her overrated. But in the core, it's not the artist that is overrated but the art.

Naatu Naatu is a great song. It deserves the award. But as you said Indian Classical Music is not receiving enough attention. Then Me Vasantrao becomes eligible to be nominated in the Academy Awards!!! Isn't it an achievement???Indian Classical Music is also heard by foreigners. It's only mostly ignored by Indians. Please it is a request that you make a video regarding Indian Music, it will help people to understand how great is that music and how great are the singers

Natu natu is a kind of song which relates to the rural parts of India we don't need to stres and learn it goes with mood n flow and anyone can dance to it and this type of songs makes you to feel like dancing so everyone can relate to it so its easy to connect with. Natu means mass/countryside
The very movie has "ramam raghavam" that is a pure classical carnatic song but it's just that western audience liked naatu naatu song because they can resonate with it.

This youtuber and the finest critics of Golden Globe aren't newbies like you who voted for the best original song, they know what they are doing more than you and me.
I think Nattu Nattu is not the perfect representation of Indian elegant and classy side so it feels weird that it won. While it can create a comedic-funny image of Indian cinema, it can also open a gateway for international audience to view the creme of Indian cinema. Similar to Gangnam style for kpop. It was seen as a meme and made kpop a joke but it put the genre on the mainstream, eventually people caught on to BTS, the better version of the industry.

The point u mentioned.... india mein kitne classical music ko award milte hain? that was bullseye. That shows our taste nowadays. We majorly listen to other genres than classical and even a normal indian guy cant tell or catch the fine elements in indian classical. So i think we should cheer for our indian classical more to let the art resonate to west naturally not by pushing it. Forget about awards just enjoy the music and art. One award never can justify the art. Recognition mila toh accha hain nhi mila to koyi nah. its still good....

tbh, for us Indians, we accepted NAATU NAATU song as a masala/item song....IMO, Dosti is the best song in the movie and it's one of my fav songs of all time

I think it'll be quite a good idea to react to One Direction. It was a very very popular band during the 2010-2016 era. They still have an extremely active fanbase. They still ARE the top 5 biggest boyband in the planet.
Please make a video on the same. They have really good songs as well and they are masterpieces, also, all of their albums were record breaking as well. I have really good suggestions for you- Night Changes, Story of My life, Little Things, Drag Me Down, Perfect, Steal My Girl and Best Song Ever (These songs have MVs) and there are much better as well, like No Control, Temporary fix, Stockholm Syndrome, If I Could Fly, History, You & I, Alive, 18 and many more. Also, they went on hiatus and all of them have extremely successful careers. Mostly Harry Styles and Zayn Malik. Both of them were at the billboards and Zayn was there a lot of times.
They mostly focus on vocals and Zayn has beautiful vocals and insane high notes, Harry has a really raspy and powerful voice, Liam has the clearest voice, Niall has a beautiful voice and Louis has a very unique voice.
I sincerely hope you'll like them.
Mahalakshmi Iyyer is an actual underrated singer compared to Shilpa Rao. Nothing against her, but I don't agree with this new trend. Shilpa Rao is a very talented singer, but now there are many remaining apart from her who need to be recognized. There are many like that it's just came to my mind.
